I bought this after quick research of it being compatible with PS 32-bit but upon loading it, it didn't work for me. Other software I use also had issues so I returned it. This is great for those who don't need to use 64-bit software but beware, it may not work with 32-bit versions as promised.
Quality was great, felt stout compared to the 6 I had and I love having the pen set in the keyboard and charge while not in use. This is something all Surfaces should have, not just the X model.
I've been through two Surface Pro 6s and love them, their long battery life and lightness are key features for me and essential while I travel / work on designs when road-tripping.

This is a goof surface option for cellular connectivity. It is fast and light but does run on a new processor created by Microsoft. This limits some of the apps you can run that are not compatible with ARM processors.

I was looking for an updated tablet that was LTE capable and this Surface
Pro X was exactly what I was looking for plus a little bit more. Not only is it a very good tablet, it is also a very good laptop with the added plus of being able to connect at any time with an added service plan. Transforms from tablet to laptop very easily and with no problems. The OS is Windows Home 10 so it is very well known to anyone who uses a laptop. Very easy to use. Very intuitive. The only drawback is not all of the programs that you would normally find on an android tablet are available on the Windows store. All in all, very much worth it.

This was my first open box purchase from Best Buy and I couldn't be happier with the condition the SPX came in. Pretty much brand new. I purchased this product because I needed to be able to work from home and different sites in the city though out the day. Being able to use an LTE connection is great and works beautifully. This PC is extremely snappy and does everything I need it to do for work. The SPX uses a ARM Processor which is the problem for a lot of buyers. It can not run 64-bit apps. You would either have to wait for developers to build apps specifically for ARM or try to see if you could use emulation (x86) but that's hit or miss.
If you wait for a sale or in my case buy open box while a sale is happening, I believe this a an excellent buy.

The hardware is nice - solid construction. USB C, LTE, keyboard and stylus, built in kickstand, gorgeous screen.
insurmountable flaws: windows 10 struggles as touch OS; always keep the keyboard/track pad close by. Charger is proprietary instead of USB C (USB charging supported by tablet). Does not sit well on one's lap. CPU limits applications - do your research ahead of purchase for app compatibility.

The new form factor is great. It has the same great features as the Surface Pro but in a more tablet-like form factor (thinner and much smaller bezels). The newer pen is more ergonomic and has a built-in storage slot in the keyboard which also charges the pen. It is powerful enough for everyday use but I would be hesitant to recommend for very intensive applications.

Jack Of All Trades, Master Of Almost None

SUMMARY:
I struggled a bit whether to give this computer three or four stars. On the one-hand, its value for performance is a bit of a tough sell, given this device is more of a luxury-tablet than a dedicated laptop. However, when viewed not just as a computer, but also a tablet with cellphone-levels of amazing connectivity options, a top-level screen, good battery-life, high-end design, and numerous usability scenarios, this device is almost second-to-none. In many ways, this is a jack of all trades master of none type of device. For me, it does exactly what I need it to and then some. It fulfills so many different use cases, it is very stylish, and it possesses extreme flexible in terms of what you can do with it. It is certainly better suited for low power users, but for those looking for a pure productivity machine, it really is an everyday working machine. I have been very happy with it overall, and while it isn’t perfect, it really does feel like a glimpse into the future, even if it feels a bit ahead of its time in some ways with the drawbacks it possesses.
I would definitely recommend this device to others, but I think it is important that people understand who this device is for and who it isn’t, since it really does fill a bit of a niche in the computer market. Hopefully this pros and cons list of some of the more important points I noticed helps you decide if this device is right for you.
PROS:
DESIGN: Easily one of my favorite features of this machine is the design. At just 0.28in thick, weighing just 1.7lbs, and with very thin bezels, this is easily the most compact computer I have used. While this compact size does have its drawbacks (which I cover in my cons below), it is easily one of the most stylish computers on the market today in my opinion. The outside is a black metallic that feels very durable and easily blends into a professional setting, although it is also a fingerprint magnet and will pick up oils very easily; keeping a cleaning cloth handy is recommended for those more sensitive to their computer’s appearance. Overall, as someone who loves to show off their technology, I love the eye-catching design of this device.
SCREEN: The screen on the Surface Pro X is amazing, nothing else to it. It gets very bright, so bright that unless I am in a very bright room, I often leave it at 50-70% brightness and feel that it is more than bright enough for my needs. 100% brightness is often eye-searing in any sort of semi-dim environment. Additionally, with a resolution of 2880 x 1920 (267 Pixels Per Inch), it is very sharp. Going off of this, the 3:2 aspect ratio has quickly become one of my favorite features, with the taller aspect ratio making document writing, article reading, and more all that more convenient. Most traditional full-screen videos and photos will be letterboxed as a result, but this is a non-issue, and often adds an additional cinematic quality to traditional videos. Furthermore, colors are bright and vibrant, and overall the screen just “pops” more than even my HDR desktop monitor. In fact, if I had one complaint about this display, its that it doesn’t support HDR. Given how gorgeous this screen is, and how bright it gets, even basic HDR support would be a fantastic addition.
SPEAKERS: I was more than a little blown away by how loud these speakers can get. They are very thin front-facing speakers, but they can get very loud, and are surprisingly clear and detailed. Obviously, physics will always be the limiting factor here, and even a halfway decent pair of headphones will sound better than these speakers simply due to driver size. For instance, these built-in speakers don’t have much in the way of bass response and tend to distort at higher volumes. This all being said, as far as onboard speakers go, these are far better than they have any right to be and should be more than satisfy for casual video/music listening.
BOOT & SIGN-IN TIME: It’s a small thing, but one of the first impressions this computer makes is how fast it is to boot-up and sign-in with windows hello. The system in clearly tightly integrated, and the boot time for the device is very fast. However, even faster is the windows hello sign-in which scans your face and uses that as your security sign-in. Many times, it often took me more time to flip the kickstand or put the keyboard down than it did for the device to boot and sign me in.
LTE COMPATABILITY: I haven’t personally had as much of a use of this yet, so I can’t comment on reliability, but I am a highly mobile user for work, and having built-in LTE capability is a very welcome addition. This is something I intend to have set-up in the not to distant future, but just having additionally connectivity options is always welcome for a highly mobile user like me.
BATTERY LIFE & CHARGING: I am quite happy with the battery life on this device. While quoted up to 13 hours, it never came close to that in my experiences. However, at 60-70% brightness, it still often lasted around 7-9 hours of continuous use, depending on what I was doing. Heavy use could run this closer to 6 hours, but in real practice, it was often closer to 8 with a mix of music streaming, video streaming, document writing, web-browsing, etc. For some, this may not be enough, especially given the limited power output of this device, but overall, I did not have any issues with the battery on this device. Additionally, the proprietary charger charges the device quite fast, with 30 minutes often being all that’s needed to add several hours to the device, and around two hours or less to get the device fully charged.
CONS:
I/O VARIETY & HEADPHONE JACK: Due to the extremely thin nature of the device, the number of ports on the device are extremely limited. In fact, all it has are two USB-C ports (non-thunderbolt) and a magnetic Surface charging port. USB-C is very nice in that it can easily handle video output, charging cables, storage inputs, and more from one port. However, if you are a heavy user who needs ethernet, video output, etc. you will need to buy a separate I/O dock. There is a single USB-A port on the charging cable’s power brick, but this is less than ideal. As someone who has several USB-C devices, I have grown used to the USB-C dongle life, however, the biggest offender here for me is easily the lack of a headphone jack. I understand the device is supposed to be as thin as possible, but the lack of a headphone jack still stings. You can buy a dongle to use a USB-C to headphone converter, but that is simply an extra cost and piece of equipment I need to worry about remembering, and as someone who uses wired headphones quite a lot, a headphone jack was very missed. Wireless headphones can still work via Bluetooth, but those who prefer wired will be left out here.
SEPARATE KEYBOARD & PEN: I would hazard to guess that almost anyone who buys this device will want a dedicated keyboard to go with it. Unfortunately, as with other Surface Pro devices, the keyboard and pen must be purchased separately. While I don’t want to go too much into these peripherals, since they are separate purchases, both of these are almost essential purchases for this device. Pen support may be optional depending on your uses, but I just can’t imagine anyone using this device without a keyboard and being satisfied. Yes, you can use the windows 10 virtual keyboard, but it’s a serviceable experience at best and any sort of document writing will most definitely require a keyboard. The good news is that the dedicated Surface keyboards are very good, and the pen experience is generally fantastic. Its just such a shame that for almost essential accessories, they must be bought separately.
APP COMPATIBILITY: This is the one area that is going to be the most controversial element of this device, because depending on the type of user, this could be a non-issue. However, for me I did find that this was a bit of a problem at times. Specifically, because this is an ARM CPU device, 64-bit applications can be hit or miss in terms of compatibility, and older 32-bit applications run through emulation. What this means is that 32-bit applications run, but performance can be inconsistent, and 64-bit applications can hit-or-miss if they work at all. For instance, I installed RStudio and found that at first it wouldn’t open at all. After a while, I reinstalled an older 32-bit version and it worked generally fine, although performance was noticeably slower than I would expect. Likewise, my anti-virus wouldn’t install at all, and would just quit mid-installation without much of an explanation as to why. Obviously, most Microsoft supported apps work perfectly, and bigger apps like Netflix and Spotify had very little issue, however, even certain apps like Google Chrome just didn’t feel as responsive as they should. As the device grows older, this problem should become less important as more apps receive ARM support, but for the time-being, any sort of heavy app user will need to be cautious about compatibility issues.
RELATIVE PERFORMANCE & VALUE: This isn’t a budget device when compared against the market, including other Surface devices, and when looked at from a pure performance perspective, this device is good, but not great. As mentioned earlier, I ran some code I wrote to stress-test the computer and found that it performed okay, but not nearly as well as I would have hoped for a device priced at this level. I am a heavy power user as a result of my work, and this device alone is certainly not enough to meet even my basic work-related needs. Fortunately, I also have a desktop which I can remote access from this device, which more than fills this issue for me, but for those looking for a dedicated workstation, this is certainly not it; although it its defense, it certainly never claims to be. However, given its price, its important to consider the performance-level of this device.

Prior to purchase, I noted that some 64 bit programs wouldn't run on this machine. It turns out it is a lot of programs that won't run on this hardware. I'm not sure why it's the Pro if it can't run software I need to run my firm. If you rely on programs and not just online apps or marketplace apps, don't waste your money on this. Too expensive to have to rely on a second laptop to run commercial off the shelf software.

TL;DR - Great portable device for minor, lightweight tasks like streaming videos.
Long version - When I got this tablet, I know exactly what I'm buying. THIS IS NOT a x86 Intel/AMD tablet but rather, it uses a Qualcomm SOC similar to your typical Android phone so this isn't the most powerful tablet/2-in-1 around. That said, if you have realistic expectations and have specific use case for it (like me only using it to stream videos), then it does the job very well. Since it uses a mobile SOC, battery on it is superb as well.
Now do I recommend this to a friend? Well it depends. This is an underpowered Windows tablet that has very specific use case like lightweight tasks, but if you're using this for more heavy tasks like gaming or photo editing, then no.

Surface Pro X is Microsoft’s take on the new category in the realm of two-in-one device: the always on and always connected PC. The device came with a set of specs that distinguished itself from others in the same product category. The processor it uses is a custom made 3 Ghz arm processor chip that should bring better performance than similar chip by Qualcomm. The graphics chip is also custom made, the Microsoft SQ1 Adreno GPU. The theoretical graphics power that the machine is able harness is 2 teraflops. In comparison, Xbox One S has 1,4 teraflops of graphics processing power.
This Surface device accepts e-Sim and physical micro sim card. The advanced LTE network capability means this device is meant for traveling. Once you inserted the sim card, you’ll be connected to the mobile network. I tried it and the experience is seamless. You can switch between wifi and mobile network like when using a mobile phone.
So who is this surface pro for? In short, those who prefers mobility, latest and greatest product design, longer battery life and an always connected device. They might not be the best tool for those who demands every squeeze of raw processing power and surely not the tool for those who are in need of app compatibility to every windows software. I’ll explain this later on but now let’s get on to some of the great things that I really like about this device.
First and perhaps the foremost is the design. Surface Pro X has the best design in Microsoft’s surface line up. The device is thinner than others. This surface is meant to be paired with the signature keyboard with slim pen (separate purchase). The slim pen has an ingenious design that it attaches with the keyboard almost flat so it is impossible to lose the pen for as long as you attach it to the keyboard cover.
Surface Pro X also has a bright screen that looks just stunning. It is large for a tablet. It has great resolution detail and color looks vivid. Even at 40% of brightness, the screen is well lit enough to do some task like typing. At 100% the screen is really bright that makes you uncomfortable to type for long time.
Surface Pro X is meant for multimedia entertainment. Watching Netflix is very enjoyable with its great screen and the audio quality is good. The speakers are placed in stereo configuration, meaning they are located on both side of the screen. They are able to produce good clarity, however, bass is somewhat to be expected a bit underwhelming. Bass could surely be better but you don’t really want to buy a two-in-one product for their audio quality anyway. For watching movies and Youtube videos, these speakers are fine.
This product works well with Microsoft Office. MS Words work just like in any other PC. Powerpoint and Publisher opens quickly and user experience with Microsoft Office has so far been good.
Battery life has been good in tablet mode and some adjustment to the screen brightness. Playing some more demanding games such as tower defense genre and watching Netflix is enjoyable without worrying about battery life. Google chrome works well, however, it may not have been optimized for Arm-based processor so you should expect better performance with the built-in Edge browser. Google docs and Stadia gaming works well with Chrome. Surface Pro X is able to recognize Google Stadia controller without problem.
So everything is good so far, right? Well, there are some buts but I don’t think these are major ones. Number one, don’t expect the device to be compatible with every Windows software including Microsoft’s own major title games. Want to play Gears of War 5 on the Surface Pro X? No can’t do. Not even playing Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition or Minecraft, both by Microsoft. Theoretically the graphical power of the device should handle the game well but because these games are written for the typical x-86 PC processor and there are currently lack of drivers support for the device, these games can’t run. This is something that I would expect Microsoft to handle in the near future. I mean, come on Microsoft, these are made by your own game studios.
Does it mean that all apps should be written specifically for Surface Pro X in order for them to run? Not really. The device is able to run various apps that are written for x-86 processor and they will be run in emulation mode, which will use more processing power thus effect the battery life of the device if you’re not connected to the power source. Even when the device is able to run emulation mode seamlessly, it does not mean that every software is compatible. Again, drivers support is one of the major issues. Also, if the software uses open GL version of greater than 1.1, these games won’t run. Another aspect is developers need to enable support for Arm Processor for their x86 64bit software. Windows store is now able to tell you which apps that can run on Surface Pro X. So don’t expect to run popular video or photo editing software on the device, at least not at the moment.
Also, Windows tablet mode while works well in most cases, Microsoft needs to up the game making user experience improvements and fine tuning by taking them from the competitor’s playbook. Small example like copying text from Microsoft Edge browser or changing URL in the tab browser; these are some details that need improving in terms of user experience. I suppose this is not something that exclusively belongs to Microsoft Surface Pro X.
The device has two USB-C ports but neither is a thunderbolt port. This means you cannot ‘amplify’ the graphics power by connecting to external GPU.
In conclusion, Surface Pro X is a take on Microsoft and Qualcomm’s vision of an always connected and always on PC. It is a good product offering with well thought product design decision. It has some buts but everyone who is purchasing a device that costs this much should know what to expect and make an informed buying decision. It is a new product category, after all, in the two-in-one realms.
Still, Surface Pro X is a capable device though it may not be suitable for everyone. Not the typical jack of all trades that you would probably expect from a premium two-in-one device. But maybe it is a great tool for students who don’t really care about gaming. Professionals who prefer thinner and lighter device. Road warriors who rely on mobile network connectivity. Or could also be anyone who is using two-in-one device mainly for media consumption: watching videos from streaming services, reading e-books, some light and basic gaming and use of Microsoft productivity suites. Or someone who cares more about battery life.
I know that I like it. As for gaming and video/ photo editing? I got a capable desktop PC to do that.
Considering that Surface Pro X sits in the new product category of always connected, always on premium two-in-one device, this device deserves more than 4 stars. It would have gotten full 5 stars if Microsoft made every software they made, including their games, to run in the device. I can’t see why they can’t do that. Afterall, every great hardware needs great software, too.

Wow! That is the first word that comes to mind when I consider the Microsoft - Surface Pro X - 13" Touch Screen - Microsoft® SQ1. I have used Windows based machines since Windows 3.1. For all the complaints I have had about them, it is as if this machine took all of those and made it right. This is truly a great machine.
The first this I noticed with the Surface Pro X is the appearance of the system. I looks sharp. The Surface Pro X is incredibly thin - roughly 1/4 inch thick and weighs less than 2 pounds. There is a very thin bezel around the screen. The back side is sleek with a Windows logo subtly visible. There is also a convenient stand built into the back which can be moved in or out to support what you need. But it blends perfectly into the design. So in short, it looks awesome.
When you power it up, the machine is lightning fast. This has always been an issue with me. When I want to use a computer, I don't want to wait 5 minutes to get going. The Surface Pro X must have had this in mind. With the SSD, boot up is fast. You can get straight to work or play.
The screen image quality is fantastic. The image is as crisp and colorful as any other laptop or tablet I have used. Also with the touchscreen, you can touch it and pinch or push to zoom in or out on the page. It is really great to work with.
The system runs Windows 10 Home. So the Surface Pro X can be used as a work machine. So you can use Windows based software and apps with the Surface Pro X. But that doesn't mean it has to be used just for work. Being a 2 in 1, it is portable and can be used anywhere. There are front and back cameras with the Surface Pro X. The camera quality is good too. While the device might be larger and not as portable as say a phone, it still takes good images. It even allows for 4G LTE connections. So you can get plenty of playtime with it too.
The charger is a unique design. It attaches easily to the side. It is not a standard Lightning connection type charger. This is unique to this system and not interchangeable with other devices. There are 2 USB C connections on the side. If you want to attach a USB to the Surface Pro X, you will need some sort of adapter.
Battery life is incredible on this system as well. I have run it well over 10 hours without needing to recharge it. It works great.
The only knock I can give the Surface Pro X has to do with smudging. If you are a little annoyed at finger smudges, you may find yourself constantly wiping down the back of the system. It seems to show where the system has been handled. You probably won't look at the back cover all that often, but when you do, you may notice it. Also, the Surface Pro X seems to be best used on, well, a surface. If you plan to use this system with a keyboard in bed, the back stand may not be great at holding the screen up. You kind of need to balance the system when doing this. Again, just something to be aware of but this is minor.
The Microsoft - Surface Pro X - 13" Touch Screen - Microsoft® SQ1 is a great machine. It has the flexibility of other tablets but more power than most laptops. I truly love this machine. I highly recommend it to anyone.

I don't use a lot of special apps or programs, so the switch to ARM chips doesn't affect what I need to do. However I do notice significant lag when watching videos sometimes, and programs could be very slow to open at times. Occasionally it would get so bad I would have to restart the computer. But the build and weight are amazing and I love the small bezels. I would probably get the 16gb memory version next time.

I bought this camera as I am a teacher and needed something portable and easy to use. Easy to navigate and great quality. Camera/video works great now that zoom has been a huge part of our time. I did have a few issues where it froze and I couldn’t shut it off or anything. I just let it die and it worked just fine after. I think I hit the screen in too many places causing it to freeze. Other than that I love it. 2-1 makes it even better

Not many apps are compatible. Love the portable design. Slimmer than SP 6/7. Hope it gets better in time
