It's ok but not great. I am not a Suunto fan but it doesn't mean Suunto isn't a great watch. Casual watches.... no, sports watches, yes. This is casual... nice look but not the best for the constant athlete.

My wife bought this for Christmas. I love this watch. Tracks all of my steps.

I have written maybe two reviews in a decade of online shopping, and I have only done so if I felt that something is seriously wrong with the product or quality control on the product. I will let you decide which is the problem here, I got the device and set it up with no problem. Here’s what happened: During the device set up 20 step registered, standing in the kitchen preparing lunch with consisted of taking a container from the fridge and placing in a microwave above said fridge, another 30 steps logged. Notifications work, but longer texts get cut off at the sides. Therefore, I needed to get my phone to read the full text. It would be nice to know the total content of the text, so I can decide whether an immediate response is needed. Instead of reaching into my bag and retrieving my phone for a text that could have waited. Watch image is heavily pixelated I expected this based on reviews on other sites but figured I would still give the watch try at the price point. The software is well………lacking to put it nicely. But I thought ok it is already here maybe where it shines is when I get a work out in so I decided to update the firmware, Maybe they fixed the awful watch face in the process. Then I could test the sleep tracking that night and Hot-Yoga the next day. Neither took place because after the firmware update I disconnected the watch and left it on my desk for about an hour (I also have the apple watch which was on). I bought the Suunto for the water resistance of 30m and operating temperature of -20° C to +60° C (-5° F to +140° F). The apple while it has a 50m water resistance its operating temp is 32° to 95° F (0° and 35° C). Some of my workouts are done at a temperature 90° F+ several days a week so wanted a watch with a better margin. The plan being that Apple is my everyday communication and productivity watch and the Sunnto my heavy workout watch. Also, I should mention this is the only watch in the Suunto line that will fit someone with a small wrist. So an hour after adding the firmware update I decided to familiarize my self with the sleep and work out functions some more the watch would not turn on, I connected it to my computer, my roommate's computer, I checked the contacts nothing worked. After approximately 5 hours of owning the watch, I decided to return it for another watch which met my needs for water and heat resistance. Already monitored one night of sleep and one hot workout with no issues and the software is impressive compared to what I saw on the Suunto.
