First of all for those considering purchasing - make *sure* you have enough room. This sub is extremely large! It also weighs a tad over 125 pounds! Next, this sub has a beautiful gloss-black surface with a heavy but good looking grill. You are paying for a top-notch sub and this does not disappoint! It's simply incredible. The back of the sub can look confusing but for those with a simple A/V Receiver hook-up one cable is all you need. Next - the single knob controls all of the subs functions - some of which can be controlled by your receiver. You can adjust the volume and some sound parameters with just the single knob. It's a beast of a sound. You will feel every thump if you so desire and it won't disappoint. SVS knows how to do subwoofers!

My beloved Paradigm PS-1200 finally died after about 15 faithful years. I shopped subs for about 3 months before settling on the SVS. I had to wait a few days for it to arrive and the store loaned me a brand new REL $2,500 sub until my SVS came in. I have to say the, the REL was very musical, tight and accurate but didn’t even come close to the SVS for watching movies, which is the primary application for us. The SVS is pretty large, but our living accommodates it without a problem. The sound quality is really nice from this sub. Reproduction at normal listening volumes is very good, but it comes alive when listening at higher volumes for movies. This sub was at the upper end of my budget, but worth every penny. I could not be happier with its performance so far. If you enjoy the deep response of ported enclosures, this sub is definitely worth a look.
