Swiss Army Man is a genuinely odd film. Not for all.

This was not my cup of tea. The story was strange and slow. If you like traditional content in movies, this may not be for you. The acting was good though.

After reading the reviews and hearing the opinions from people who had seen this film I thought I would buy it. The Swiss army man had potential I thought from the trailers, boy was I wrong. From the characters constantly using the same jokes over and over again, this film didn't really go anywhere plot wise. I wish I could get the 92 minutes of my life back I wasted watching this movie.

Very dark humor, if that. Seemly about one man's descent into maddness, but doesn't make up it's mind.

Maybe it's just me but I had no clue what was happening in this movie. A farting half dead/alive human that comes more alive as he's getting more of a relationship with a friend? I'm lost

Dont waste your money. It should be expected from a Paul Dano film. I expected a twist at the end and was disappointed. Ill give you my copy if you want it.

    What Did I Just Watch?

Hmmm...how to review this? I don't want to give anything away. I would even recommend avoiding trailers as I did just to let it all be fresh upon first viewing. Everyone I know that has seen this always starts the conversation following it with, "What the heck (censored) did I just watch?". This is something you'll want to share with all of your friends, something you'll want to watch over and over again. It's definitely movie of the year material, and I can't recommend it enough. ♥

    Bizarre Sense of Humor Required

This film is kind of like Weekend at Bernie's, as remade for millenials. Right away, the audience is taken away from logical reality and into a world with a flatulent, talking corpse-- and we must question the sanity of Paul Dano's protagonist. But the ride is so sickly amusing, who cares if he's mentally ill?

I really wanted to see this in theatres but it unfortunately had a short release. To my surprise, it was being sold quite cheaply at Best Buy (which isn't always a good sign). I gambled and won by picking this up, it's like a fever dream of hilarity, great to watch by yourself, better to watch with other people, and best to watch people watching it for the first time.

Harry Potter plays a farting corpse. for most people, that should be enough, but there is a sad yet hopeful poignancy to this oddball movie.

"Swiss Army Man" may not appeal to everyone but it is a new start for film and shows that some film makers appreciate originality. Definitely worth the experience.
