I have been looking to get into pc gaming for quite awhile. I've pretty much always been a console kind of guy, from my first Nintendo in '87 to my last gen ps3 and Xbox 360. I have had computers in that time, and played a few games on them from Age of Empires to Deus Ex, but I have never had and always wanted a dedicated PC gaming rig. I attempted to look into how to build my own PC a few years ago, but I felt overwhelmed by everything involved with it, from comparing specs on various pieces of hardware, and making sure everything was compatible. Eventually I just gave up. I had heard about these "steam box" type computers a couple of years ago and thought maybe this was the type of pc for me. They never came out, constant delays of steam OS and the Steam controller kept me from getting this machine. Then November 2014 I read about the Alienware Alpha, and got excited they were releasing these "steam"boxes sans steam OS and instead putting windows 8.1 in as the operating system. The only downfall of the Alienware Alpha being that while everything in the rig was upgradable, the Graphics card was not. So I did some more research, and found a few other companies were releasing Small Form Factor PCs one of them being Syber, an offshoot of Cyberpower. I decided this was the PC for me, Atleast to get me started in the realm of pc gaming and it is great. It's about he size of an Xbox one, which is a little larger than I anticipated, the Alienware Alpha is roughly the size of a DVD player, but With that size comes the ability to upgrade any part of the machine I want to. I was frankly getting tired of console pushers shoving a new console down my throat every 5-7 years. I wanted to be able to upgrade without having to make space for yet another box on my entertainment center . If I wanted a new graphics card I could spend a couple hunderd instead of half a grand for a new console. Sure my entry price here was just over 600 dollars but in the long run it'll be worth it,when I can add bits here and there later and lower costs. The computer boots right into steam big picture after logging in, and from there you are ready to go from either creating a new steam account, to logging in and downloading from your already huge library of games thanks to the amazing prices you get during steam sales. On top of all that with PC gaming you get perks like game modding, tailoring user interfaces of skyrim, or texture packs you don't have to pay for in Minecraft,to user created add-ons from the steam workshop, you can get player created storyline expansions and mission packs for Fallout: New Vegas. It's rather amazing. All in all I'm happy with my purchase, and if you are intimidated with pc building and just looking for something you can hook up to your tv and dive in,this maybe an alternative for you. Next time out I may just build my own PC but for the time being I'm loving my Syber Vapor A.

Exceptional Console That Breaks A Mold

This entry level Syber Vapor destroys Playstation 4 and Xbox one! Increase the RAM and it is even more dangeous! Add an SSD... you get the point and I own all the consoles! I looked at Alienware Alpha and could not make the move based on the set GPU. This console is expandable and it feels like a console. The keyboard remote is not perfect but it is not abysmal either; it works well if you learn it! The console can easily play "next gen" games better than PS4 and Xbox One and before you dislike as "fanboy" I chose this box to not spoil me and out do my consoles as I own all of them! I chose the least of the Sybers. Yet, it did! With EASE! It takes a while to update Windows 8.1 out of the box and install Steam, GOG, or orgin games, but when you do, you are gold! Not to mention Windows 10 is coming with the potential to play Xbox One games natively throught the Xbox App! May be the best console ever. The actual complete concept of the 3DO, CD-i, or Apple Pippin.

I gave it 4 stars because the lg controller and the keyboard mini remote suck! The machine however is a beast, i picked up the base amd version and it performs beautifully most recent titles like titanfall battlefield 4 call of duty play great on it!

    Lots of problems

I bought this computer as a gaming PC and unfortunately I will be returning it for a number of reasons. The computer itself can play most games beautifully without too many issues and everything works very nicely... When its actually working. The first issue I ran into was with the fan. I don't know if it was poorly placed or if something got bumped around, but it sounded like one of the fans was hitting something during start up a number of times. It made a loud, annoying sound that would only stop if I tilted the computer around in attempt to rid the blockage, in which rarely helped at all. I assume this is because the computer is much smaller than a tower and there is a lot crammed inside, but this still should not have been an issue. The second issue I faced was with the AMD Athlon. The first time I used this computer, I quickly noticed the fans working a little harder than they should've been. I immediately checked the device's stats and was horrified to see that the temperature was supposedly above 50-60 degrees Celsius. Obviously this didn't seem possible because not only was the room temperature cool, but the computer was standing upright as it should, and the device itself is set to shut off if the temperature goes above 40-50 degrees Celsius. I disregarded this as a programming error, but apparently many other people experienced this as well. My last issue with this computer was it's connection to my monitor. I've never had an issue with any of my other devices connecting and I have a perfectly good monitor, but with this computer it was very common for me to have to plug and unplug every wire connected to the device at least 15 times each before the signal became strong enough for my monitor to reach. In the end I may have just had a bit of bad luck, but I will definitely be returning this computer, and I doubt I will buy another computer from this series.
