The picture is good, works good. The only problem is the buttons. There is no "menu" button, you can't skip forward to the next section of the dvd, and the buttons are hard to feel in the dark. Also the volume always starts out at 14 even though 8 is a normal volume, so it starts out very loud.

This is a very simple to use unit at a very good price. We have had no issues and are very pleased.

At first I was not sure about the size of the screen, but once I bought it and gave it to my granddaughter I know it was a good choice. And was a good price too. Easy for her to use.

This DVD player has all of the bells and whistles except for the sound quality. If you are in a room with background noise it is very hard to hear. The speakers are very small. But I did find a way to connect the DVD player to a portable speaker that I have and it worked out perfect. The picture quality and all of the features are awesome. I would highly recommend. I bought it to use for tent camping with my children.

Purchased this before a trip as my 'old' portable player had a battery life of less than 90 minutes. Joy! I was able to watch a 2+ hour movie - clear, good color, picture and sound.

Nice picture. Holds a charge. Good for travel. Makes living without cable more enjoyable.

I purchased this player after reading many of the reviews at Best Buy and elsewhere. I was a bit concerned by the consistent comments on the volume of the player - many without any sort of reference. I found no issue with the volume of the player when used in a relatively quiet room. Definitely no issue whatsoever when using ear buds/headphones. FYI, portable players are not meant to overcome road noise in a vehicle or a noisy room. It is expected that the user will employ headphones/ear buds in those kind of environments - or will connect the player via the headphone jack into the vehicle's audio system or home stereo system. The volume defaults to "14" which I assume is a "middle of the dial" setting. That is a bit loud for me when using ear buds so I usually have it set at 11. The picture quality was good, but does have a more limited "best" viewing angle compared to my Philips portable which this player replaces. The "last memory" function works as it should provided I have not changed discs. (There is no player that will resume playback if discs are changed in my experience.) The battery life is as advertised lasting 5 hours easily. The player itself uses what seems to be a "thinner" plastic case which would require more careful handling in my mind. (It's not as hefty as my now defunct 10 year old Philips player.) All controls function as they should. My only minor complaint in this area is that there is no "Menu" button on the player itself. It is included on the remote which I have not used yet so I cannot comment on. The settings are mostly intuitive, but the "screen size" settings are not easily interpreted. The manual does not shed any light in this area either. The "wide" setting is a no brainer, but the Lb and Ps are a guess. I assume Lb is letterbox, Ps no clue. Also, there are 2 picture quality menu items which are not explained in much detail in the manual either. Both appear to do the same thing and I have not discovered the difference yet. The player has played every disc I've put in it. It does not play Blu-ray. If you place a Blu-ray disc in it will spin up and then give a "no disc" message on the screen. Perhaps folks who have had playback issues were trying to play a Blu-ray disc instead of a standard DVD disc (just a guess). I have not yet played any CDs in the player nor have I tried the card slots so I cannot comment on these aspects. I have only used the player in the house so far, so I cannot comment on mobile use. My player has a manufacture date of June 2016 and the layout of the controls differ from the picture on this site. I would recommend this player with the caveats mentioned. For me, I believe careful handling is a must due to the "light" feeling construction. Rough handling could possibly cause early failure of the player - I could be completely wrong about this, but it's my gut feeling on this aspect.

Lightweight, right size, great viewing quality for DVDs, have not listened to music CDs on it yet. However, could not get the remote to work. Also, wish the volume level went higher as often, I watch DVDs without earphones/ear plugs. Other than that, I definitely recommend and have told others about it; the price was good too.

Purchased this so my granddaughter (age 4), could watch her videos anywhere. Great quality for the price, and easy to operate.

10’ sylvania portable dvd player. picture is good, about 4 hour playing time my daughter loves it.

I bought this for my 2 year old granddaughter to use to watch during our flight to see family. It’s a little bulkier than I would have liked, but it works great and has a handy remote control that I could use until she learns how to use the buttons

Built in DVD players are nice but this gives you the flexibility to move between and out of vehicles altogether. Comes with car charger and wall plug, plenty of battery for a full movie. Swivel screen blocks controls from little hands

This little DVD player does a good job; my only hesitation for not giving it a 5 star is it doesn’t play very loudly. But it works okay for a hospital room where you don’t have regular DVD hookup. I’m glad I bought it.

This DVD player is being used by my adult son with autism. The large screen has a clear picture that keeps his attention on the videos. It is a great value, easy to use, with a long-lasting battery. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

I needed a portable DVD player that wasn't expensive and able to last a while. This portable DVD player so far hasn't failed on me and it does the job quite nicely. I bought it on sale so the price point made it more attractive.
