Hi. I bought this remote starter for my wife's E70 BMW X5. It was the only aftermarket product I could find that can remote start my wife's X5. After paying +$700 and waiting a month to install it, the service manager strongly recommended not to do it. It had a check engine light on, but it comes and goes randomly after BMW repaired the eccentric shaft sensor. After $4k of repairs, BMW still can't figure out why CEL is still coming on and going off. It runs fine. Back to the installation. If you have CEL on, their computer stated in big-bold letters not to install it. Afterwards, service manager contacts several other locations, and told me the following: even if they install it after the CEL goes off, there is a good possiblty the computer will fry with the CEL comes on. German cars are too electronic and sensitive. I know exact what he described. I spent > $4 and months with BMW to get her SUV fixed. Its not like the old days, you can't fix it completely without reprogramming ECU. Even when I changed out the battery myself had SUV shutdown 2 days later; you need to have BMW map the new battery for 40 mins... and it was not cheap. I should've figure when I saw a computer module fixed to battery terminal. I'm trading in SUV soon and getting GMC with factory remote start!. Don't bother with installing this remote starter on your BMW... you could turn your BMW into a very large and expensive paper weight.

Works very well!! Much less expensive than the factory remote.
