The device seams great but it all depends on your AC. It didn't not work so well with mine. It did the norm like turned on/off, temp up/down but it was a bit laggy. There were so many options available but again my AC was not compatible enough to take advantage of them. All in all give it a try. It might just do wonders for you.

So my 10 year old split unit ac still works fine. No problems at all except that it had a normal remote and no wifi connectivity. So my desire to have a smart home and be lazy normally would have required to buy a new ac unit so that I could turn on the ac when I leave to return home. However this device made it so I can come home to a cool bedroom. Using my iPhone I can turn on and set the temperature of the ac. What a wonderful world we live in. Make sure your ac is supported or it can be bothersome to setup the controls for your unit. My unit was a Sanyo and there were 31 different remote controller command sets to cycle through. I did not have any issues connecting to wifi or anything. Took about 15 minutes from unboxing to controlling my ac from my phone. My next step is adding control to my Homebridge so I can control it from my Home app rather than opening a second app.

It's a really great product, but I can't seem to get the hang of this one yet! If I set the temperature manually it gradually increases the temp to its highest point then brings it down to where I set it. It's rather pointless to do this since the a/c beeps every time when it does this. It's kind of annoying.

Tried for several hours to get this to connect to the internet and tried everything I can think of, but to no avail. Would not connect to wifi in the house. I knew the wifi was working correctly, since everything else was on line and working.

Have a split ac/heat pump in the family room. Only control is with the remote control. If we are away for a few days, we come home to a hot or cold home. Tado allows us to turn the ac or heat pump on before we get home, with a few simple taps on a smartphone or tablet. Really simple. The set up is very easy...but two steps are very time-consuming. Just wait them out while the software is "Loading" then "Updating." This product gives you the ability to monitor and change the temp of a room with an ac/heat pump remotely, when previously you could only adjust with a remote control while in that room. A great product!
