    This movie was completely forgettable for me. I think Goro Miyazaki tried to emulate his father too much during this film; I enjoyed From Up on Poppy Hill much more. Recommended only for Studio Ghibli completionists.

    The combination of Studio Ghibili and LeGuin should result in a better animated film. It didn't feel true to the atmosphere of the Earthsea novels.

    Compared to the other Studio Ghibli films this one is probably my least favorite. they try to cram a lot in the last few minutes so the rest of the movie seems very long

    Great animation as you'd expect for Studio Ghibli, but unfortunately Goro Miyazaki's first foray into feature length animation doesn't hold a candle to his father's works. Some people may enjoy it much more than I did, but I felt like it dragged on forever. None of the characters are given enough characterization or growth for me to feel anything for them. Sadly, even the OST feels bland. It's the definition of wasted potential.

    Although I'm completely into all anime this movie isn't really that good. Story is subpar and not much substance.
