Customers recognize the engaging story and fun, smooth gameplay as major strengths of Pre-Owned Tales of Berseria. The well-done battle system and easy-to-learn controls also receive positive feedback. However, some customers mention that the game environments could be improved and that the difficulty may be too easy for some players. A few also noted minor issues with the translation.

Whether it be the psychedelic infused combat and gameplay, or the points at which the story develops is as smooth as I have seen and so long that it is a refreshment that I believe we all needed whether you were a gamer or not. Do yourself the favor of enjoying this experience.

amazing game, I loved the "sequel" game zestiria (Berseria's story takes place centuries before zestiria.) so I picked it up on release. Amazing story great gameplay. Would recommend this 'specially for JRPG fans. My pictures include some of the DLC you can pick up with it.

I've never hated a tales game, but I haven't been pleased with some of the recent additions to the series. Berseria is a breath of fresh air with vibes reminiscent to Vesperia. The characters and storyline are fully developed. The only gripe I have is with the dungeon designs. It really does feel a bit like they used the same schematic just with different colorations for each dungeon. This can make the game feel really tedious at times. The battle system is pretty different than any other tales game, but it seems to make the game much easier than others (I ended up overleveled fairly early on). There are also some very odd translation/transcription errors towards the end of the game, which really make it feel like it was rushed. Overall, it's still a great game and definitely worth playing; it just has a few oddities throughout.

Best Tales Series Game Yet!

What can be said about this masterpiece?
Co-op JRPG, with great character development and voiced by the amazing Cristina Vee!
Classic rpg troupe of a band of people (and some note people) coming together with differences in characters, developing friendship and fighting towards one common goal, a common antagonist.
Gameplay is 10/10
Graphics 9/10
Story 9/10
Must buy for any fans of the Tales Series, but by far the best one yet and previous game knowledge is not rewuired, as the game mechanics have been completely overhauled here!
Highly recommend!

Great battle system, likable characters, and a darker story that still manages to retain the sense of humor as seen in most Tales games. My only complaints are the translation (often times the English voice acting does not match the dialogue) and generic environments.

Tales games are always about its characters. They want you to feel your party and know who they are. Aside from that this is an RPG that has a great story and a wonderfully simple yet complex and fun combat system.

A fantastic game and one of my favorites this year. Berseria improves upon the previous game, Tales of Zestiria by taking out most of the tedious and annoying mechanics that plagued it, making things more refined and easier to understand. Plus the story and characters are more interesting to boot.
Only real complaints that I have are that there is a lot of backtracking, and the game for the most part is fairly easy. I've been playing on hard mode most of the time and I've only gotten a game over twice. These flaws didn't detract much from the overall experience for me however.

Great addition to the Tales series

As a long time Tales fan, I have mixed feelings about the newer games. On the one hand, the series needed a bit of a mix up after all this time, but I still struggle with the break from tradition. However, I found the changes made to Berseria very pleasing, and cohesive in a way that makes them all the more palatable. It's not just a change to the combat system again, which this time abandons linear movement entirely in favor of a full range of motion and combo system that feels almost like a spectacle brawler in the vein of Devil May Cry or Bayonetta, it sets this against the story of a cast of anti-heros out for themselves, the world be damned. It's compelling in how fresh it is for the Tales series, and it all fits together nicely for a very complete overall vibe. The unique, tangential connections to Tales of Zestiria offer an interesting bit of fan service for series fans and feel like an appropriate bit of homage to the greater Tales myths for the anniversary of the franchise. All in all, an excellent addition to the series that I would happily recommend to both fans and newcomers alike.

The game is fun with a good story. Combat ranges from completely customizable combos, to a setting that literally allows you to mash the x button and win in most cases; On normal difficulty this can get you through the game quick to enjoy the story, but doubt how well it would work on hard. Overall entertaining.

A great entry in the Tales series. The battle system is a definite highlight; battles are fast, dynamic, and don't get tedious. The music is great too, as is the storyline. The angle of playing the bad guy makes it much more interesting. The relationships between the supporting characters are good too; where they could descend into cliche, they don't. The voice acting and dialogue is top notch too. My one little annoyance is that there are few cutscenes. Cutscenes are delegated to the most important story moments. Any other dialogue between characters is shown in a comic book style overlay. It doesn't detract too much from the game though. A definite buy if you're a JRPG fan, or a Tales fan.

The Tales series is one of my favorite JRPG franchises, but I do admit that the series has had it's ups and downs with the past few entries. The last entry, Zestiria, was enjoyable, but a few issues that I had with gameplay and some of the story brought it down some. Any issues that I had with Zestiria have been pretty much fixed with Berseria, a prequel to Zestiria. The story is much more dark than any prior entry into the series, and the gameplay is faster and more frenetic than ever before. If you are a fan of Tales, this is a must buy. I would also say that it is the best entry so far for newcomers to the series, and recommend it to anyone that even has a passing interest.

Definitely a memorable experience. A jrpg worth your money. With a unique story of vengeance which is a first for the tales series this is one fans will enjoy as it provides a fresh of breath air to the franchise. Not to mention the main female protagonist is a bad!@#.

This is probably my favorite Tales game yet. And you do not need to play the other games to understand this game, it is a stand alone game (actually almost all of them are). But the story is solid and more mature than past Tales games. It has some typical JRPG tropes but it is still good. Combat is also great. Easily can invest 40-50 hours to this game.

Totally impressed. Whereas most J-RPGs tend to follow a plucky band of heroes, Berseria takes a darker route with a crew of anti-heroes seeking revenge against those who have ruined their lives. It's a fresh take on the genre and I can't recommend it enough.
