This is an incredibly sharp lens in the 17-50mm range. The two annoying parts are how heavy it is and the small chromatic adoration around the 50-70mm range. Otherwise really good for photo and video. The 6 year warranty/yearly maintenance is a fantastic bonus.
Build quality is good, but when zooming in and out with the lens the end of the range can be a bit hard. It broke in pretty quickly so looking straight down sometimes causes the lens to extend out (zoom in) a tiny bit.
Low light performance is fantastic. I use the Sony zve10 and the 2.8 aperture takes some pretty good pictures. Just make sure to get an ND filter of some kind if you want to shoot in the light.

The Tamron 17-70 Lens is an extremely well put together lens with exceedingly amazing photo quality. There are so many pro’s when it comes to this lens such as the Lightweight and compactness, the lens is great in low-light thanks to f/2.8 aperture, there is a Full-frame field of view of 17-70 mm which provides flexibility, there is an accurate autofocus with proper lens stabilization and it also has Weather sealing which makes this lens a must for travel for individuals who are into videography and photography. Would recommend to any individual in the industry!

I have been using this lens with my sony a6000 and it performs great. 17-70 is an awesome range to shoot whether you’re shooting portraits, landscape or street. The constant aperture of 2.8 really shines both in photos and videos with a nice and shallow depth of field along with really sharp images. In my opinion, it is the best zoom lens for the sony e mount (apsc) body.

Definitely not the best lens on market but definitely best one for price that you pay, so far no complaints or issues, like the quality and sharpness of photos.

I purchased the Tamron 17–70mm F/2.8 from Best Buy to use with my Sony ZV-E10 II, and I couldn’t be happier. The zoom range is perfect for everything from wide landscapes to close-up portraits, so I don’t need to keep switching lenses. The constant F/2.8 aperture delivers sharp images, smooth background blur, and great low-light performance.
Autofocus is fast and accurate for both photos and video, and the lens feels well-built without being too heavy. Best Buy’s ordering and pickup process was smooth, and the staff answered all my questions before I bought it.
If you want one lens that can handle almost any situation, this is an excellent choice for Sony APS-C cameras.
Pros:
• Excellent sharpness at all focal lengths
• Versatile zoom range
• Great low-light performance
• Fast autofocus
Cons:
• Slightly larger than a kit lens

As of 2022, This is the best lens ever made for a Sony APS-C camera! Image sharpness is fantastic, the auto focus is fast and quiet and the constant f2.8 aperture allows me to use a fast enough shutter speed even for indoor basketball photography! Image quality is not as good past 55mm, but the Sony f2.8 16-55mm only goes to 55mm, so if you only use this lens from 17-55mm you have basically the same lens as the Sony for half the price! It also has built in image stabilization, which the Sony does not. This is the only lens I use on my Sony A6300.

Game-Changer for My Sony Setup

I’ve been shooting with Sony APS-C bodies for years, and this lens completely changed the game for me. The constant f/2.8 aperture means I can shoot indoors or at golden hour without worrying about cranking up the ISO, and the built-in VC stabilization makes handheld shots tack sharp — even at slower shutter speeds. Autofocus is fast and silent, perfect for both stills and video, and the image quality is crisp from 17 all the way to 70mm.
It’s solidly built but still light enough to carry all day, and the weather sealing gives me peace of mind when I’m out in less-than-ideal conditions. Honestly, it feels like having two or three prime lenses in one, and for the price, it’s unbeatable. If you’re on the fence, just get it — this is the lens I didn’t know I needed until I had it.

Perfect Match for My Sony A6400 — Sharp, Fast, and Reliable
I’ve been using this Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 lens with my Sony A6400, and it’s hands down one of the best combos I’ve ever worked with. The image quality is razor-sharp across the whole zoom range, the autofocus is quick and silent, and the built-in stabilization (VC) is a lifesaver for handheld shooting.
Whether I’m capturing street shots, portraits, or beach sunsets, this lens delivers consistently. It feels solid without being heavy, and that constant f/2.8 aperture? Game changer.
If you’re shooting on a Sony APS-C camera—get this lens. You won’t regret it.

This lens is great for my Sony A6700. As that being a crop sensor camera if gives me a great zoom length with good background blur. It is a bit bulky with a decent weight on it but still manageable to travel with.

Bought this lens for a trip I had for Peru, and i just have to say that i don’t regret at all this purchase. It is a bit in the heavier side but instead of traveling with 2-3 lenses, i traveled with only this lens and I loved every image i captured

I was price shopping for the Tamron 17-77mm lens because of its constant f2.8. When I visited Best Buy in October, it was listed at $699.99. The young lady that was helping me showed me how to download the app and place a price drop alert. Two weeks later, I was alerted that the price had dropped $100. With that reduction and an 18 month interest-free purchase plan, the lens is now seated on my Sony A 6400 camera. I am one happy shopper.
