Fantastic lense!! Love the versatility, although it is a little soft around the edges it's excellent for photography but can be a bit slow for focusing on fasting objects farther away. The zoom barrel can be a bit challenging to use for video for zoom ins and outs as it can be a little stiff but excellent for photos when you want the barrel to stay in place.

Reasonably great lens especially for the price that your getting it. Telephoto range was perfect for the shot that I'm trying to achieve. For me this is the best telephoto lens you can try before ordering the lenses that are quite very different in price range.

I use this lens on my Sony a7 III, and it is a work horse! My pictures are crisp, and is easy to focus through fencing. I've used actual Sony lenses, and this is just as good in quality.

The best budget lens I've come across is the [Tamron 70 - 300mm]. Its impressive optical performance, coupled with an affordable price tag, makes it a standout choice for amateur photographers or those on a budget. The lens delivers sharp images, minimal distortion, and good low-light performance, making it a reliable option without breaking the bank. Keep in mind that while it might lack some advanced features, it provides excellent value for its cost.

I use it with my Sony A7iv and I love it. Especially for the price. The lens picks up nicely. Colors are crisp. Very happy with the lens, especially for the price. Already used for sons football games.

I had only played with my 30mm 1.4 and this sweetheart of a lens was a surprise let me tell you. Its such a cozy zoom its pretty hefty but lightweight i really enjoyed scoring this baby for a reasonable price.

Got this to cover varsity football and it has been a beast. Sharp as a tack and captures color so well. Sometimes a little slow to focus, but overall no complaints.

I was looking for a good longer lens than what I currently had for my Sony mirrorless DSLR, but the prices were a bit stiff. I read the reviews for the Tamron 70-300mm zoom and, with the very reasonable price on-line with Best Buy and some Rewards points, I went ahead and ordered it.
So far, I've enjoyed the Tamron. It feels like a very quality build (while yes, it isn't all metal, it feels good, but not overly heavy, which is a plus when lugging stuff around). The pictures I've taken so far, even when displayed on my 75" TV, look sharp. There's been no issue with quick auto-focus, metering accuracy, or zooming.
So, while I'm sure the Sony equivalent lens is a great one (and I have a number of the E-mounts and love them), the Tamron is an excellent substitute in my opinion and the price cannot be beat.

I bought this lens for amateur sports photography with my Sony Alpha 7IV. So far it has performed very well. I am able to get close and action shots. Sometimes the auto focus is a little off - but overall it is a great purchase.

Great lens for the money, nah it is great lens. I purchased both the Tamron 70-300mm lens and the Sony 70-200mm G lens expecting that the Tamron would very much disappoint when married up to the a9 camera but NO!
Yes there are advantages to the Sony lens but for the average camera user the Tamron didn't show too much flaws and now the price. Yes the price and the warranty that comes with it when you combine it and look at value it is well worth it and if I did it over I would buy the Tamron and maybe something else like fast wide angle lens.
