This cooling-fan mat works pretty well for my laptop. It’s lightweight, compact, and quiet. I have to position my laptop a little bit off-center so that one of the dual fans (cold spots) can cool the hottest spot (rear center - laptop battery). I could get a cooling mat with more fans, but this works for the price.

It's not silent but it is quiet enough to meet my needs. The presence of two fans causes a mild pulsation in the fan noise as the sound waves interact, but the effect is very mild (I deducted one star for the slight bit of fan noise-- a single-fan setup might be quieter). The air flow is what I expected; it certainly has enough air flow to make my laptop run a bit cooler. The fan speed is not adjustable but the fixed speed is already about right so I don't feel a lack of adjustability. The cooling you get is more a function of the cool air taken into the laptop, so blowing at high velocity doesn't help. What you want is a laminar flow of cool, fresh air available for intake and this unit seems to provide that. The coverage area is just enough for my 16" laptop. It has plenty of room to move air, but it is thin enough that it has little impact on ergonomics. I would definitely buy it again at the price point.

The Targus Dual Fan Chill Mat Cooling System is a good, inexpensive mat for my laptop, which was overheating due to heavy use. It's a simple cooling mat that plugs into the laptop via a regular USB-C cable. It doesn't need any power source other than the USB-C cable, making it easy to bring with me wherever I go. It works! And I recommend this to everyone who only wants a simple, inexpensive cooling method for their laptops.

My laptop was suffering from overheating issues and I was looking for an inexpensive way to restore its performance. I saw this product and I thought I would give it a try...and my laptop is back and running smoothly again! It has been 7 months since my purchase and the chill mat has not given me any trouble. The fans are not loud - they are about as loud as the fans on a older laptop - and the plastic casing has not cracked. The chill mat can slip into any additional sleeve in a laptop carrying case so I can take it wherever I need my laptop. I only have a few things that could be issues for someone else. The increased height this system brings can cause wrist pain for people who use their laptops intensively. I remedied this by adjusting the height of the chair I sit in. Also if you have a large laptop (>15.6in) I'm not sure if this mat would be big enough. It works fine with my 15.6 inch screen laptop. So overall, if you are looking for an inexpensive solution for an overheating laptop and you are fine with the system using a USB port, I would recommend this.

Hubby wanted something to cool his new small 13" laptop, which ran warm and was uncomfortable on his lap. Got this and he is very happy with it. It fits nicely, keeps laptop cool, and runs quietly!

Simple and basic, needed a quick extra cooling for my Legion 7i while on the road and it worked really well wish it had a usb c connection instead of the old style power connector, I dont remember what it’s called but think of the old ps3 controller charging connector. I used for a light editing on lightroom, probably wouldnt be the best to cool a laptop for gaming I’d say to get to other style of cooling pad that is sealed and a perfect fit for the gaming laptop.

A very good cooling mat for a laptop. Quiet operation, plenty of air flow. The only thing I would change it make the top surface non-slip. If the cooling pad isn't sitting perfectly level, such as on a tilted work surface or your lap, the laptop will slide off constantly. Nothing a bit of friction tape on the edges can't fix, but should be from the factory.

This cooling mat does use one of your USB ports. So, on most laptops you're probably going to want to use a USB hub if you're planning on using any other peripherals (e.g., mouse, keyboard, optical drive). Also, it has fans that you can't control the speed of, so there's going to be fan noise. Beyond that, it's a great buy and works well.

I got this to help make sure my new surface pro laptop didn't have issues with over heating like my other surface pro. So far this has helped keep the me laptop cool. I did get a heat monitor program and when I notice the laptop go above 140, I can plug this is to bring it back down. It only brings it down maybe to 130 depending on what I'm doing ... when gaming i leave it turned on ... its only a little noisy... but not enough to deter from getting one. It's light weight and runs simply by usb.

I'm glad I bought this cooling pad. It's a fair price for a very good product. It's lightweight and much quieter than other cooling pads I've purchased in the past. I read previous reviews on this product and most were positive, so I decided to purchase it.

Fits my laptop perfectly, its quite enough that I don’t hear it.

The bottom of a laptop stays very warm without proper ventilation, contributing to damage that could occur. I bought this fan for my daughter's new gaming laptop, and it really works well. You can hear a faint hum, knowing it's working the way it should. It plugs directly into the laptop, so there are no dangling wires. I would recommend this laptop fan by Targus.

With the two built in fan, the cooling pad does a pretty decent job of keeping my laptop cool. The size of the pad is exact to my laptop so that's nice. However if you have a laptop with a numpad, the cooling pad may be too small. I'm only giving 4 stars because a few days after using it, one of the blades got stuck on itself and I had to somehow shove it back into place.

A lifesaver. I work from home and utilize a company-issued laptop. We have some LONG days together and it is almost constantly plugged in. It was getting really hot and was starting to get kinda slow and have issues in the middle of my work. I bought this thing and everything improved immediately! It’s quiet and works great. Plugs directly into a USB port on my laptop. Definitely recommend for people in a similar situation.

Didn’t really think this would work, but I became a believer after utilizing it when my laptop started getting hot and running slow. I remembered I purchased this and put it right under my laptop, when I say it started cooling the computer quickly & I was back to running like normal!!!

This works well with my laptop. It isn't very noisy, which was my concern. I think it cools the laptop down nicely without being too cumbersome.
