Nice and basic

He likes it because it has a padded compartment for the laptop and is very basic black so it looks a little more professional.

Cheap, medium sized backpack

The laptop compartment does not have too much padding, but it is better than nothing. Don't expect it to last too long with heavy use, but should hold up quite a while with occasional use or 1-2 school years.
