I bought this to replace an AEW81 (with cooling and docking; 1 yr warrantee, but now discontinued and not available) purchased at Best Buy last July. The 2 fans quit working in late March this year. Targus would not repair it or replace it with the slightly more expensive AWE57US which has both cooling and docking, even if I offered to make up the price difference. I had to give up the docking capability and accept a much less expensive AWE55 as a replacement directly from Targus. So the product is OK as long as you don't need to rely on their warrantee, and expect equivalent functionality with any replacement they may see fit to offer with no recourse. Oh yes, now I have two Chill Mats - one purchased and one they sent me - neither have docking capabilities like the AEW81 I originally bought.

Very quiet, and keeps my hot burning laptop hard drive very cool during high demand usage. Very Satisified!!!

17 in laptop just fits on pad. No grippers to keep laptop from sliding off. Otherwise, nice product with cooling and has USB cable that easily tucks away when not in use. Wish pad had grippers to keep laptop in once place.

sometimes you buy something because the salesman has a good line .. sometimes it's because it makes sense .. this was both ! It definately keeps the laptop cooler .. but ya gotta wonder .. was it really necessary .. who knows .. but it works .. and at $39.99 who cares about the $$.

Recently moved my computer table to a new room and have been using my computer on my lap. However, I found it to be very hot having my computer on my lap all the time and purchased this cooling mat. I had heard they were good and have to agree that this works well.

I love it, it is so quiet and keeps my laptop cool at all times...and I am on it alot.

Simple design, not much to say. It uses up one of my laptop USB ports. It could include other USB ports to host other peripherals... It fits in my laptop bag, small enough to pack. Nice little unit...

I have enjoyed the product..it has done the job that I needed...I like the fact that it has the option to elevate the laptop to help air flow...I do wish that the gripping ability was a little better while elevated...overall i am pleased with this product

This product does exactly what it's meant to - keeps your laptop (and your lap) cool. The fans do a good job, but they are a bit noiser than I had hoped. It's also very light and easy to move around with me, from the couch to the bedroom or elsewhere.

After having a computer fail on me due to inadequate cooling, I wanted to protect my higher end 17 inch laptop from the same fate. I purchased this item as there weren't too many 17 inch cooling mats available. It is well put together. The price is a little high for what you get and the fans do not seem to spin fast enough to supply a significant cooling effect. I kept the item, primarily because the adjustable angle does improve airflow and visibility when used on a desk and it isn't too noisy, but I regret that this item does not appear to cool the computer significantly.

I use it every day. Keeps the laptop cool. I like that it is adjustable.

Had this laptop fan for about 60 days. So far very happy with it. The fans are quiet and I like the slanted platform which makes it easier to use my laptop on my lap. Also like the non-slip mat which keeps my laptop in place. I got it on sale, so I really liked the price which was 50% off.

I have an HP laptop that over-heats very quickly, so I purchased this chill mat to help save my leg as well as the functionality of my computer. It works great; as advertised. It plugs in via USB and is powered by the laptop itself. So far, I have had no issues with over-heating and the mat is more comfortable on my lap than the machine itself. Highly recommend.

Quiet, adjustable, lightweight; just a great overall chill mat.

This is not as powerful as my previous laptop fan but it is quieter and is a better laptop desk for adding height and angle to the laptop on a desk and/or lap than it was.

If your laptop gets hot while using it, like mine does, this Chill Mat (which isn't really a mat but a plastic platform) helps tremendously. The upsides to this product: - Not too large. - Sturdy. - Don't need to worry about your laptop overheating. - Fan shuts off when you close your laptop. And a few downsides: - Can't really have your LAPtop sit on your lap while using this item. - Laptop slips around on the product's surface. - Occupies one of your laptop's ports... no biggie if you have several. - Doesn't easily open and close (for venting.) It's easier to open if you don't have the weight of your laptop on it.

This one has the shape of my last one, but smaller...both are great features. The shorter cord is better too...won't get hung up (as often) on things, and break like my old one. The old one had 4 rubber things to grip the laptop, and they kept falling off. This one doesn't have them, and is so much better. Very, very happy with this one!
