the case is great if you don't have an apple pencil. There is not way for it to charge.

The case is sturdy but the material is really bad. Any moisture on your hands or fingers gets all over the case making it look bad, making it look really used.

Returned the iPad so also returned this cover. Didn’t securely hold pencil.

The case fits well, feels like it'll protect the iPad from the slings and arrows of life, and lets you rotate the display to vertical. BUT...the iPad doesn't go to sleep when you close the case (nor wake up when you open it). And if you use a Pencil (I don't), you can't charge it without taking the iPad out of the case. Oh, well; maybe the next generation of case will be better.

Bought with my I pod got home it doesn’t fit it to big

First, let me state that even despite the average rating, I really like this case and had I not decided to get an Apple Pencil, it would be a 4. I didn't initially plan to get an Apple Pencil when I bought my iPad Pro 11, so this case seemed to be a no- brainer since I have used and loved Targus cases in the past. It is sturdy, the iPad fits well in the cradle, and the viewing angles are decent when using that way, both in portrait and landscape mode. It would appear that since the iPad is secured into the edge protector, the edge-mounted speakers would be obstructed, but Targus has "scooped" the protector and made the sound front firing. Nice touch! Fast forward a week and I decide to purchase an Apple Pencil 2. I got it home and stuck it to the side of my iPad to pair and charge it, still in the case of course. The magnet crabbed, but no connection was made to pair or charge. I popped the edge protector off of that side of the Pad and the pencil paired and charged like a champ. I then read the reviews for this case and noticed that others had commented on this as well...so it wasn't just me. I also am not thrilled with the fact that the automatic sleep/wake feature is not supported when the front cover is closed or opened. This is a premium case and that's by no means a new feature; my last few Targus cases did it. It's still a fine case and even though I will be returning it, I do recommend it to those who do not plan on getting a pencil or aren't bothered by the wake/sleep thing. I just hope I can get in to make my return so I get remuneration to apply to a case that is more suitable to my needs. It wasn't you, Targus...it was me.

The case itself appears to be well made, and has great features as a case and a stand. It's got a great leather-like look to it as well. However. When I went to recharge my new Apple Pencil 2, my heart broke a little bit. This case prevents the magnetic Pencil from connecting to the side of the iPad, which is the one way to charge the pencil. Now it's hassle to recharge the pencil. Have to take it in and out of the case. VERY disappointed.

Love this case. Lasted 5 years before it started to show wear. But it still serves its purpose.

I loved this case on my 10.5” iPad Pro and I love it on my 11” iPad Pro but I had to take a star off because the only way to actually charge your new Apple Pencil is to peel the case back on the edge and apply the pencil directly to the iPad. What a pain in the butt ya know. I’m considering returning to the store. If you don’t want or use an apple pencile then yes 110% I’d say this is the case for you. But if you like and use the pencile and don’t mind peeling your case off each time to charge or connect your iPad then ya.. I’m unsure yet but I’ll be looking for a case I can store and charge my pencile more easily .

I have used various versions of this case on all my previous iPads. When I got the new 11” iPadPro, I bought this exact case. Fits great and I appreciate the swivel. The negative is it does not work with the new Apple Pen 2. The pen will adhere to the iPad via the magnet but it will not charge the pen nor will it pair with the iPad. You have to peel back the edge of the case to pair and/or charge the pen.

I knew when I bought it it would not charge the pencil, it’s heavy and bulky, and it’s expensive compared to online cases for other sizes of iPad, so I’m not downgrading for that. I’m downgrading because there is no on-off at open -close and the little magnetic flap just hangs there in your way when using the iPad. Am I missing a magnet?

The pencil magnet holds but doesn’t allow the pencil close enough to charge! Love the case but that won’t work!

Apple Pencil will not charge when the case is on even though the packaging clearly states “APPLE PENCIL (2ND GEN) CHARGING COMPATIBLE”. I called Targus and their answer was to take it back to the place of purchase. They would not even acknowledge that this is a known issue even though I have read several reports online of others having the same issue. Not acceptable.
