Scorsese's Best

It's Scorsese and De Niro's best collaboration and probably Scorsese's best film. The movie captures a part of New York that people actively avoid, and makes you feel for and identify with Bickle as he unravels throughout the movie. Not a great date movie.

This movie started a Domino affect that ended with the insanity plea being next to impossible to prove in court. That's a good thing. Look up the John Hinkley presidential assassination attempt.

Taxi Driver is a classic movie. It's a must-have for any collector. "You talkin' to me?" is one of Robert De Niro's famous lines & scenes, and, fyi, the actual line was an adlib by him while filming the scene (it wasn't scripted).

Early Scorsese classic

Taxi Driver (1976) is one fine film by acclaimed director Martin Scorsese. The cast of this film was relatively early in their careers and on top of their game, especially Jodie Foster in her role as a troubled teen. This bluray will keep you entertained, with some nice special features. The picture and sound quality are first-rate for a film that's over 40 years old, so the cleanup job was a successful one.

Great film at a great price!! A must for my collection. Definitely had to take advantage of online Black Friday shopping to avoid the chaos in the stores and no shipping cost are always nice. Got to love Best Buy this time of year

I have the previously released blu-ray version, which I love, but this version is just a little bit 'better'. The TriBeCa film festival panel discussion alone, is worth the price I paid, and the 'throwback cover art' is a thing of beauty...

picked this up on a Buy one get one free promo at Best Buy. Well worth it for the Digibook packaging and the extended extras. This film needs no introduction, De Niro spreading his wings as a true NY weirdo and a true classic amongst films of the 70s.

Steelbook could have had better artwork for such a timeless film but what can ya do (aside for waiting for the 4K)

This is a must see feel, and this bluray does a great job with the transfer. Definitely worth getting if you are a film buff, great performances and an excellent story.

This is essentially the original release but with a new Q&A added and several other bonus features moved over to an extra DVD disc. This is really just for die-hard fans, fairly redundant if you already own the first release.

This is my favorite movie of all time and absolute incredible masterpiece. Scorsese's best. I own 2 copies of this already but got the 40th anniversary because it's a great cover and a great edition to add to my collection.

Quite simply, one of the greatest American films. A dark, violent character study of isolation without parallel. Scorsese and Schrader at the peak of their powers. Every film lover should have this one in their collection.

Bought this dvd for my father for Christmas!!! Excellent gift, he couldn't be happier. He has always ranted on and on about how great this movie was. Now I can't wait to take it all in for myself if he lets me borrow it! lol

Everyone knows this is a great movie. And this packaging is great too. Comes in a nice hardcover book and also comes with a nice book itself about the movie with great pictures and commentary. And you can't beat the price either

I saw this when it came out in the theatres and always wanted to add to my collection. Had the vhs and we all know what good they are now, so when I saw this on sale and Blu-ray it was a no brainer. picture quality is good for a movie this old. must have had a couple stutters in the master though but all in all good old movie that helped start DiNero's career, now hoping to find the Deer Hunter also

Love this film. This is from a 4K Master and it looks wonderful on Blu-Ray. Never seen it look better. Sounds amazing too. There's 3 wonderful commentaries on it as well, which alone made this worth the price.

Is one extra worth a double dip?

Actually, in this instance I think it is; the 40th Anniversary edition of Taxi Driver not only includes everything on the old release, it adds a Q&A with Scorsese and most of the main cast which is in itself worth picking up, considering the low price of the set. Splitting the extras over two discs was also a nice touch, giving the movie a little more space on disc one.
