Upgraded this 40" tv from an over 10 year old 32" Sony flat screen tv (that still works to this day). I have a small family room space and thought it would be too big, but it's perfect. TV is thinner than I expected and was light enough to transport by myself (way lighter than I thought it'll be). Putting it together, connecting to the internet (for the smart tv features), and hooking it to my cable box (I'm still a cable box guy lol) were simple. With this tv, you can connect the cables in the back sideways so can flush the tv close to the wall (or for easier mounting). Picture and display are an easy upgrade and improvement from what I had, which I can primarily vouch for as my comparison. It still seems to be comparable to other models from what I see in the stores, if you are to stream 4K or high def videos. I do have to sometimes have to adjust the screen resolution for my cable box connection periodically (not sure if that's due to my cable provider, cable box, or this tv, but in time, I guess I'll find out). If the broadcast is in high def, the display looks good and is vibrant. I mainly watch sports, so it satisfies my needs. Connection to my Bose soundbar works fine (though sometimes takes a minute or two to connect at startup here and there). I've still yet to figure out the Roku and smart tv streaming features, but the interface as well as the tv adjustment settings are easy to navigate and super quick for selection with the provided remote. The tv was on sale so for price I paid, it was worth it. Hope it lasts as long as my old Sony. I usually would steer towards high end name brands with long standing reputation, but I read up on TCL and seems like they've been around awhile and have a lot of good products out now. Only had this for about a week, but at this moment, seems like a well paid purchase and upgrade.

This 40" TCL TV meets my expectations and replaces one of the 2 identical 40" Visio TVs that was situated above the large Samsung TV in my home theater. Having 2 different remotes for the upper TVs makes it much easier to control the inputs and the ROKU system on this TV is easy to use. The only issue I have is that it is not included in TCLs registration system yet and I am awaiting resolution from TCLs customer service.
