Mainly use it to play games but the tv is perfect for it. Surprisingly good sound from the built in speakers, excellent colors and brightness though had to mess with the settings a bit. The colors really pop and not in any kind of bad way almost want with a different brand that was way more expensive for the same picture quality.
The built in smart tv features are pretty good they do feel like the bare minimum, but the Roku is interesting. Although I do prefer android/google tv. Menu is sometimes a little laggy and the remote is not great though you can use your phone and that works about a thousand times better.
The thing that got me was the sound. I don't even see speakers on this thing but I would say the sound is atleast as good as a midrange sound bar it has a bit of bass and clear audio. Really was a surprise when we first started using it.
Overall I don't think you can go wrong with this tv, it has a sleek look, beautiful colors, excellent sound with an okay but good enough smart tv system built in.

Finally upgraded our TV and this was a screaming deal for a 4H UHD. It’s like watching everything in person with such a vivid crisp image! Roku was a bonus and will never buy another brand! House full of TCL Rokus! Now wishing we woulda gotten a slightly larger screen.

Absolutely love this TV. Picture is great, love that it is a Roku TV. If I have any complaints, recently the TV has mysteriously started to come on by itself. Not sure if I have ghosts or maybe I need to reset the TV. Regardless, great TV. We even just went back to upgrade to a 65" 6-Series TCL and will move the 55" to the bedroom.

We absolutely love our new TV! The picture quality is so crisp and clear, at times it looks 3-D! We were replacing a class 4 series, so it was easy to set up and get our Roku/streaming channels going. My only complaint is the remote, I wish they'd get away from the old style Roku remote, it's small and so basic. Would be nice if there was a voice activation feature.

One of the best pictures I have seen. So clear and realistic it feels like the people on the picture are in your room. A great price as well. The color is very vivid and I love the way I can change the picture for movies, sports, ect. The roku being built in is a wonderful idea. Only one wire to hide. I definitely recommend this TV

giving it 4 stars because the first unit's power switch broke the same night I installed it! I had to go to several stores to finally find a replacement the next. other than, the picture is great, the Roku feature fits perfectly what I was looking for. The narrow angle of view is true, but it does not matter to me since I watch it in a right angle. Great price for the product!

It is a great TV all around. Picture, easy to use, very intuitive. If you have used a roku stick, you already know how to use this TV. The only flaw/disappointment on the Roku TV's is that they only allow you to use Roku wireless speakers. Other than that you can connect a regular sound bar through the HDMI or optical ports.

I've had this TV for more than 5 years, it still plays as beautiful as the day I purchased it, over the more than 5 year period it has never needed any repairs and has never given me any problems
It GREAT, when I replace it it will be for the same device in a large size

I'm not an expert in picture quality or any of that, but I can say that my family and I have been very pleased with the picture. Sound quality is also good, no issues with that. My contribution to the reviews is about the operating system. I've had this for over a year and a half now and the ROKU system is solid. No issues, great performance and every app we've ever needed. My dad's LG and my brother in laws Samsung don't seem to have the same quality of performance and as much choice for apps. I had to find workarounds for watching shows on my dad's TV because it didn't have the providers we needed. Plus the layout just makes more sense to me, but that is personal preference. Great TV, we've enjoyed it so much that I just went out and bought the exact same model in 50" for another room. Can't go wrong with this one.

Got this an an inexpensive outdoor television - went with the QLED version to get a little bit more brightness. Viewing angle is not great but at this price I don't know of any better. Straight on the picture quality is solid. Would not recommend in a wide open space, but in a covered outdoor area brightness is fine. Super simple setup with Roku and dead easy remote.

Bought this when we needed a smaller TV for a smaller living room. I love the UI and remote. The picture is crisp and adjustable. I have had no issues with this tv and even got another smaller one for the bedroom. I recommend these to everyone for a good affordable TV.

Love TCL Roku TVs! We have four in our vacation villa, including this 55" model, and two other models at hom. Quick, simple set up. Easy to add apps & channels. Even set it up to turn on to the cable and/or satellite box so we don't have to fumble with two remotes.

I tried to watch the OLD dutch oven (PLASMA) after a couple of weeks of watching the QLED. I IMMEDIATELY noticed a downgrade in clarity and colors. Went on YouTube and streamed some of the same demos and the TCL wins hands down. Technology has advanced.
Pros:
Excellent colours out of box.( Beats my Plasma)
Deep blacks (beats my 10 yr. LG Old plasma)
Easy Roku
Bright compared to plasma
Amazing Clarity
Cons:
DSE on edges of screen. Left side and right. It's like a yellow tint. Only noticeable on bright white backgrounds. I find myself looking directly at left edge looking for on bright commercials. Don't see it on normal content.
Brightness is good compared to plasma, but I find myself wanting more. Eating measured 260 nits on SDR and HDR. I have been thinking about getting the R625 for 140 more, bit is it really worth that more. The R625 Measures around 560 SDR and 650 HDR.
Expert settings. Why would Tcl have the calibration settings in the freaking app. It locks up almost every time you change something.
Viewing angles. No match for the PLASMA. This was the only category the plasma wins. Yes, you get the color wash out very quickly.

Very impressed with the TV for the price. Picture is excellent. Very vibrant colors. Setup was very easy and I love that it has all of the ROKU features built in. Saves from having multiple remotes and the ROKU platform is easy to navigate. Highly recommend.

I was hesitant at first, was between this TV and the samsung series 7. After reading reviews on line on here or cnet type sites everyone said the picture quality was way better on this than the Samsung. That started to sway me to this TCL, when I get to BB and talked to the sales person they said samsung was just trying to push the samsung out for the holidays season with way less features than the series 8 so went with this TCL and all the reviews were right the picture quality is amazing looks bright and crisp, gaming on this is crazy! Never used roku before more of a firestick person but it's easy to use and all the apps you could need are available. The only thing is that you definitely need a soundbar the tv speakers are terrible. Got the alto 7+ but might upgrade to a better one. Upgraded the remote that came with it to the enhanced roku remote with voice search and it's just perfect now. This TCL tv is a great buy and worth it!

Love my new TV & it was super easy to setup (and I’m not a techie person). I wasn’t sure about the brand, but I needed a Smart tv & I’m a Roku user, so I read as much as I could & decided to buy it. GREAT picture! So much better than my old Samsung!!

Darn good everything: Picture, Interface, Built-In Channel Guide (I'm over-the-air only, in a big metro area), Streaming, Sound, Remote, and even a pretty good price. The Best Buy pickup process was pretty good and prompt too (with a very helpful delivery guy).

Moved to this 55" from a 32" and now I wonder why I waited so long. For the price this TV is unbeatable. Picture is great and Roku interface is easy to use. Pros: The cord hides in one of the legs. Cons: No voice capability on the remote.

For the price, this is really good tv. The picture looks really good and the features work as expected. Roku also works pretty well - it isn't as fast as other capabilities (like an Apple TV), but it is built in and adds no cost.
