    All around the display there is a section about 1-1.5 inches wide that is brighter than rest of screen. I have tried altering all of the settings and cannot get it to go away. Will be returning for a different tv. I do like the Google TV format though. My old tv was a Vizio that was about 6 years old and never had issues until it quit working.

    I would go with the Fire Tv 55” instead of this one. It is alot more user friendly. I cant airplay straight to TV which is a hassle.

    This unit stalled from the moment I turned it on and began the setup process. Then I would unplug/reset and it would work fine for a day. And then it would stall again in the middle of playback on any app - it didn’t matter which. Even when resetting it would just get stuck on the TCL logo and not respond to any command from the remote. A major pain from day one. Do not buy. I’m bummed I did.

    This TV is my upgrade from a 15 year old, 32-inch dumb tv, so the bar for me is pretty low. This TV is definitely bigger and clearer than that old TV. I notice the blacks aren't perfectly black, but for less than $300, I can live with it. I like the Google TV interface, but it is slower than I expected. Even my 8-year-old daughter notices that the system is slower than the simple Roku plugin device we had running on the old TV.

    I have had this TV for about a month and so far it is fantastic! The picture is amazing and the options to change the picture and the sound depending on what you are watching is super cool! I have to remember to change it, which I don’t always do, but it’s awesome regardless of what setting it’s on. I watch a lot of YouTube music or relaxation videos during the day and no matter if I have heavy metal, healing meditation music to keep my cat occupied, the picture and sounds are good. I haven’t hooked up my sound bar yet because I haven’t needed to, but the volume is great! There’s several options but I’ve included pics of 2 obvious ones! Pic 1 - Movie Pic 2 - Smart HDR

    The bottom line: night and day between my 2010 LG43 inch TV and my replacement 2023 55 inch TCL TV. Best Buy price was lower than other online stores even with a 5 year protection plan. I can now watch three sets of channels: with free subscriptions to Google's YouTube, TCL TV and Pluto. I no longer need a TV antenna giving only 12 channels. This purchase was recommended by BestBuy chat guy after I ask for options to use ethernet connection and wired connection for current headphone. After adjusting for color and brightness means that I can watch TV without wearing eye glasses. I will contact BB for a 2nd replacement TV. Thanks BB.

    Overall, this TV is an extremely enjoyable experience. The ability to connect directly to Youtube is especially enjoyable. The picture overall is excellent and with the Direct Lighting, still good from most watching angles. The colors are bright and full and there is no fading anywhere, even at the screen's edges. The audio is not so great, but it isn't bad either. Suffice to say, what we've done is to go through the earphone jack and have connected to a stereo system for a fuller sound. After a month, we are still learning and or getting used to the features, especially Google TV. This should not be a deterrent but, rather, a good indication of the many features this TV has. For the price, this is an excellent buy.

    Amazing! We’ve gone through thick and thin trying to find an affordable TV that actually functions well. And let me tell you, well is an understatement! Fire TVs crap out within the first year, if they even last that long before they get choppy, but they were always the cheapest options. This TV has great picture, quality, ease of use, Google home integration, and AI image enhancement (I think, it seems like it at least). No complaints!

    These Tv's do not match the price tag! Well worth your money. The colors are vibrant and the picture is clear. My children love playing their play station on these Tv's. We love them so much we just bought another one to put next to the one we have on the wall so the kids could play together. Do not sit on these Tv's!
