Video quality is great, coming from the previous qm7 2024 model however I do think the motion handling might be slightly worse, with some red shift in fast moving video. Much brighter and the increase in dimming zones does make hdr content pop better. Sound quality is also a slight downgrade, but honestly you should be using a sound system anyway if you’re spending this much on a tv.

The TCL 75QM7L lives up to TCL’s reputation of great value and great technology. Setup was rather straightforward. The TV this set replaced was mounted on the wall, and I was able to use the existing mount because it was compatible with the 300 X 300 VESA requirement for this TV. (Always check the VESA compatibility between the TV and a mount to avoid surprises.) I had the TV up on the wall in about 30 minutes. Powering on the TV for the first time greeted me with the Google TV setup screen. If you have other Google TVs, it will recognize your Google account settings, including WiFi settings and apps already installed on your other TVs. A check for software updates added about 15 minutes to the total setup time, but it was quite straightforward. A really nice surprise and delight is the backlit remote. What a great touch for this price point. The remote is typical for that of a Google TV—basic functions, easy to understand, with nice haptic feedback on the buttons. Honestly, the picture calibration out of the box was extraordinarily bright and way too saturated. I have found that rtings.com does a really nice job determining the best picture settings for most TVs, and I have set all the TVs in my house to their recommended settings—which are customized for each TV brand and model. Their recipes result in a very nice picture with super color accuracy, awesome contrast, and perfect color saturation. Rtings.com once again provided great settings for this TV—and the picture looks nothing short of stunning. One of the first selections played on this set was Avengers: Endgame on BluRay – Holy Cow did it look and sound great! While I generally do not like the motion clarity feature (it makes everything look too cartoon-like), there were certain shows where motion clarity on Low does elimnate the stutter in extremely detail-heavy, fast action scenes without making other scenes have fake, cartoonish motion. For action movies, I set it to Low, for everything else, it's off. The speakers for the TV are on the rear, so placing the TV near or against a wall will provide the best sound experience. With my unit hung on the wall, sound from the TV was impressive. The audio was crisp, with decent bass and balanced treble / midrange. Speech was clear and balanced with other program audio. Our household watches a number of news programs and reality shows, so good speech audio is important to us. There are different sound settings for the TV—the only one I did not care for was the movie setting, as it was too echoey. I did not find the need for any type of amplifier or sound bar—but again, this is my everyday TV that is not dedicated for movies or gaming. I appreciated that volume levels between inputs was consistent—unlike other brands where you switch from one input to another and you get blasted out of the room or think there is no volume at all. I realize that many people don’t use antenna TV anymore—and I rarely do—but I appreciate that the TV has a coax input for a digital antenna. The TV located the expected digital stations in my area and provided a nice guide and program information experience. Nicely done. The TV has a host of other inputs—4 HDMI (including an eARC/ARC), two USB-A, an optical audio out, and an ethernet in. The TV supports Bluetooth audio connections, as well. All of these ports are on the right side of the TV—with the power being on the left side. The ports are tucked in a little bit, allowing for easy access and ample cable tucking. One of the built-in apps on TCL TVs is TCL TV+. It is buried a bit in the app list, but it is worth checking out. While certainly not a cable or streaming replacement, the programming is free and hosts quite a collection of stations, movies and TV shows. Glancing through the channels, I found a Star Trek Channel, an Alfred Hitchcock Channel, Local News, Weather, Westerns, Horror, Comedy—there were a lot of choices. I would advise you check it out. My household now owns three TCL TVs. Two of them, we purchased in the last year, to replace aging sets. It seems like in the last few years, TV apps have gotten a bit more bulky and resource intensive. Even resetting these older TVs, they are slow to respond and getting around the home screen is aggravating with a lot of lag. The newer TCL TVs have excellent response and no noticeable lag. Overall, I have been extraordinarily impressed with the TCL TVs—especially the two newest ones--which incluses this set. The difference in the picture and sound from sets just a few years older is nothing short of amazing. Between the MiniLED technology, full array dimming, higher refresh rates and Dolby sound—if you’re on the fence for a new TV, the best advice I can give is to go to the store and see these sets in person. While everyone has different viewing and audio preferences, TCL provides much of the technology the big brands do, but at a better price point.

If all you care about in a TV is visual and audio quality, this is a 5/5 TV. The biggest drawback is the Google AI assistant which can be activated with “Hey Google” or by toggling the voice input option on the remote. If you say something like Hey Google, turn on the tv”, that works great and it knows what you want. If you say something like, “Can I watch Psych on Peacock”, instead of opening Psych in Peacock, it will pull up an informational screen about Psych and share that it found information about it being available in Peacock. Directly saying, “open Psych in Peacock” works some of the time, but I find myself still having to get the remote to navigate, which to me misses the entire point of having a smart voice assistant built into the tv. I do like being able to say, “Hey Google, Turn off the tv”, when I’m done for the night, or if my wife fell asleep with the controller on her side of the bed. I also appreciate that the tv supports Airplay. The biggest wow for the tv, is actually the audio. It has 2 reverberating speakers in the back of the tv that pretty effectively replace the need for a single soundbar. Granted, I’d still probably prefe a full surround sound setup if this was in my living room or gaming room, but as a bedroom tv, eliminating the need for a separate soundbar has been awesome. Picture quality is rock solid, however I did have to fine tune some settings when I first set it up. It would have been nice if picture quality was part of the initial setup, because my wife’s reaction was, “doesn’t this look washed out?” And she was right. Changing to the cinema setting fixed the color balance issues but it was a pretty disappointing experience from the start, and frankly a huge miss considering this might be setup in someone’s home that doesn’t use technology enough to go into menu settings to refine the video. I’m not sure if it’s even fair to take a full star off for the Voice Assistant but it turned an exciting initial experience into a disappointment. It deserves at least a half star off. Overall though, the tv is great, and comes with some pretty cool apps available for install, including a free Google live tv app, which mostly plays channels with older shows and sometimes replaces commercials with a pretty scenic video while you wait for the commercial timer to expire. Overall I’m very happy with this tv and would recommend.

TCL QM7L is a great TV for most people. Pros: - Great picture with colors that pop and the picture can get bright - The B&O sound is a step up from standard TV sound - Google TV interface is snappy and provides everything you need - Included remote is backlit Cons: - Colors degrade sharply off angle TV Setup: Unfortunately, this was one area that wasn’t smooth for me. Scanning the QR code to perform TV setup did not work with my iOS phone. I just got a message that the app clip was unavailable and was forced to go through manual setup. While it wasn’t the end of the world, it was a little disappointing. Picture: I was very impressed with the picture. From the moment you get to the home screen you will notice how bright the TV is and how much the colors pop. I do recommend changing the picture setting to Filmmaker mode. It resulted in a much better picture than the Standard mode. I have watched Standard definition and HDR videos and they all look great. The one issue is that you will notice a dulling of colors as you move off angle. I might not recommend the TV if you are unable to view it straight on. Sound: The sound on the TV is decent. If you plan on using the TV as your non-primary viewing source, you will probably be fine just using the built-in speakers. I played around with the Custom sound profile which opens the Beosonic app, which lets you customize how you like your sound profile. However, you will get an improved experience if you upgrade to a dedicated soundbar (or possibly add the compatible subwoofer). Remote: The included remote is nice (but not as nice as the one included with my QM8G). It is backlit, which is great for nighttime viewing. My real gripe is the placement of the mic and home button. Most remotes have the home button placed in the center of the remote, but on this one the mic button is in the middle and the home button is off to the side. Conclusion: Overall, the TV is a very nice TV that I would recommend for most people. This is my second TV from TCL and so far, I have been pretty happy with their TVs. For the price, this TV is a great value.

I upgraded from a 55” LED 4K UHD Smart Android TV that I thought was fantastic until the time it stopped working. I really thought it provided great visuals, sound, and connectivity, but once I set up the TCL 75” SQD-Mini LED TV, I realized how far the technology had advanced. For starters the Google TV integration is night and day different from the Android TV, from channel options to available apps. Plus, TCL, like most, has their own TCL TV option for access to over 350 free channels. Assembly and set up was easy! The included base pedestal is about 15.2” by 14.5” and is sturdy or you can attach it to a wall or floor mount using the vesa mounts. The remote control is back-lit which automatically activates when you pick it up, but you can also disable that feature. The remote is fully voice capable including integration with Google Gemini. You can set the voice capabilities to only function when the Voice button on the remote is pressed, or to respond to “Hey Google” or a preferred wakeup word. There are preset buttons for Netflix, prime video, YouTube, Apple TV. TCLtv and Disney+. There’s also a dedicated button for an antenna source! Where I live we have access to over 60 OTA channels, and this allows you to Live Pause the antenna TV feed for up to 30 minutes. You can also edit the channel labels and the input label names. The panel is 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) with an Imax Enhanced QLED and a 144Hz refresh rate with a peak brightness of 3000 Nits and countless dimming zones. There is 1 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0 input along with 4 HDMI 2.1. One 2 are 4K@144Hz, 2 at 4K@60Hz with one of them being eARC. The response time for the upgraded Google TV and integrated Gemini Voice controls is great with no noticeable lag. The video is unequaled in my experience, and includes multiple options to fine tune it to your preference including Vivid, Low Power, Sports, Movie, Game, PC, Filmmaker Mode and an AI enhanced intelligent setting. These modes are coupled with 3 Dolby Vision Modes including IQ, Bright and Dark. The picture size can be adjusted and has 6 settings from 16:9 to Stretch Zoom. For those not acquainted with Bang & Olufsen sound products, they are top tier and that is evident in this unit. There are 5 presets for Movie, Music, Speech, Game, Night and Sport plus the ability to set/save your own preferences through the equalizer. There’s also a unique online toggle option to further refine your preferred frequency ratings. The television has Bluetooth 5.4, and I experienced zero latency when I paired various headphones or earbuds. After a week I realized I no longer needed my soundbar so I disconnected it. The television can be cast through Google Chromecast or screen share through Apple Play. In my opinion this television presents as close to a real life experience as any I’ve seen.

This tv is so bright, colorful and clear. Great for a bright room but even the blacks a deep! Best tv I have owned by far!

Picture quality is awesome. I have in my back yard and it shows beautifully even with the glare.

We got this TV because our living room has around 10 windows and it gets very bright during the day. We upgraded from an older UHD TV and it's a huge difference! The colors are amazing. There are many picture and sound options to choose from as well. We like the google assistant feature and so far have 0 complaints. Also, the backlit remote is great when watching a movie at night.

Fantastic TV quality! Love the color and picture quality. I shopped around for a few weeks before going to my Bestbuy store and the salesman there helped me pull the trigger on this purchase and I could not be happier. He answered all my questions and I am happy with my purchase.

Clear, crisp picture. Sound is Great & elevated for those that have difficulty hearing and the volume indicator level isn't maxed out. Very intuitive and Easy set-up

was looking to replace my 65 inch TV that was dying, I was actually looking at a different model but this one was reduced price and only a little more expensive but had more features. The picture is amazing, has very good sound, picture quality is excellent. Hook up was easy and straight forward. I have my PS5 hooked up to it and that has excellent video as well with the fast refresh rates.

This TV was very easy for two people to mount on the wall. It displays images with the sharpness and the brightness we were looking for in our lower level. The sound is very good, whether or not we are using our surround sound, or just listenting to audio through the TV speakers. The "Hey Google" makes it very user friendly. We would hightly recommend.

I upgraded from an LG I bought 5 years ago. The difference is staggering, it's like I'm seeing color for the first time. The previous TV I owned was one big light panel, having the local dimming zones and mini LED is a serious game changer. If OLED is to pricey for you, buy this and barely notice the difference.

Picture quality is amazing, and the sound is phenomenal from the B&O speakers. They are large speakers on the back for a tv this thin. UI is slow at first, i think it was doing a bunch of background updates, but after a day it sped up and is quick now.

Best bang for your buck with new lower price! At $1,299 it is a deal. Super Bright, vivid, colorful Quantum mini LED, I could not tell the difference between this and the more expensive QM8 other than only 2 HDMI 2.1 ports instead of 4. It has two HDMI 2.0. Used in our family room, bright in daytime or night.

This TV has a great display. The only issue I've had is that when hooked up to my Visio sound bar, the audio lags. I've been able to adjust so it is only a little laggy.

I moved up from a 2006 Visio 42 inch tv so quite the upgrade. I am loving it. I feel like I could make it even better with a few adjustments. I just don't want to mess up my picture so leaving alone. Great image. Google makes it easy to use. Has a little reflections from windows but not enough to bother me. Seems like a great deal for the quality wonder if I should have waited for black friday. I was impatient
