I am a but if s TV snob when it comes to brightness, clatity and oversll life like. This TV knocks it out ofbthe park. It is small step below OLED but for the money… none comes close.

Great picture. Great interface. Great value. 30 days in, this seems to be a very good purchase.

I bought an open box. I felt it was too bright So I returned it. From then I couldn't find the best one. I mostly watch youtube most of them are low quality but this tv upscale them like a charm. no blooming. deep blacks with necessary brightness not washed out. only thing bothered was brightness.

I am very pleased with the 85” TCL QM8. The picture quality of this 85” is more than I expected. Guests have commented positively on the brightness of picture. The surround sound from all the internal speakers are amazing.

Without any doubts since i purchased the 1st released Full array backlit LED's from Sony & Samsung in 2008 this 2024 QM8 85 inch 851g is simply outstanding even compared to my still going strong 2017 Sony 900e 75 inch flagship. For this price there is no way the latest Sony B9 is worth twice the price for the same size screen. Without any Calibration and simply doing your own personal tweaks plus turning the functions not needed Off the picture is very eye popping.

As being my first experience using a TCL TV, we just couldn’t pass up the opportunity for what you get price wise over the Samsung, LG, Sony, etc. Picture quality is excellent, particularly for new movies. Older movies the clarity lacks in some places (especially in shades of black), but still definitely quality. Also, it doesn’t appear to be a monstrosity on my wall (which is approx a 20’ wall for a 19’x26’ living room). Overall I’m happy with the purchase after using and owning the TV for approx 2 months.

We bought this 85" QM8 to replace a 5 year old 65" LG CX OLED that had severe pixel degradation. We were concerned about "dropping down" from OLED to mini-LED and whether or not we'd get used to the differences. Though we were skeptical, this TV has blown us away. The brightness this TV has is incredible! Dolby Vision content was always so dark on our old TV and now we can see so much more detail. The black levels are indistinguishable from our old OLED in 80% of viewing. Only in very difficult scenes do you get a noticeable difference, but even then it is so small that the price difference makes it acceptable. The only clear blooming we have encountered is in scenes like a star field on full black screen. Even blooming on subtitles is barely noticeable unless you are specifically looking for it. The viewing angle is not what it was with the OLED, but no worse than any other non-OLED. And we won't have to baby it by turning it off constantly or worrying about leaving something paused too long. For the price, I don't know if you can get a better TV than this.

Best TV for the price hands down. Even reviews and test better then most TVs more expensive. Buy up 2024 model while you can 2025 model has some slight tweak but not an overhaul yet.

The picture quality is amazing. Great refresh rate for gaming. Near life like when watching football games. Tons of apps and customization available.

Bought on black friday. Mine was missing the remote, manual, and screws for the stand. I called customer service, and Loisa was able to prioritize the missing items within 2 days via fedex. I love the tv, super bright, and the remote is luminated. Love that it has google Voice as well. The only issue is that it's really heavy about 100lbs, but that is expected for a tv that size. Aside from that, I'm extremely satisfied with the customer service and tv.

This TV has great resolution. Color is amazing. Cant beat the look for the cost.

Excellent TV (Picture Quality) Nothing but the best!

TV is awesome for the price. It was great. I was able to get close to home some of the visuals like are excellent. Some need to be adjusted real time.

The TV itself is beautiful. However, after unpacking and setting it up, I was disappointed to find that the 85-inch model has a much thinner back panel and lacks the advertised subwoofer and up-firing speakers on the back. As a result, the sound quality is noticeably inferior compared to the smaller models, which do include those built-in speaker features. This is a significant misrepresentation, as the inclusion of these built-in speakers was a major selling point. It's misleading to advertise features that are missing from this specific model.

As a long time OLED user, I'm very impressed with the TLC QM8 85 inch. I've only had it for a few days, so take this with a grain of salt. So far I have almost zero complaints about this TV. The blacks have been spot on with no blooming (so far) which I'm very sensitive to since I watch movies and tv with Subtitles turned on. TV can be super bright, but not as overpowering as I thought it would be. Motion is mostly fine, although I'm still trying to get it set just right. My main complaint with the TV is the processor could be "better" as I'm not sure it's doing a good job upgrading low bitrate content, but I need to watch more to see. I generally take the "garbage in, garbage out" point of view and don't put much stock in "4k Upscaling". I think it's generally just a marketing buzz word. 1080p and 4k Content looks perfectly fine. Not a "Wow" but acceptable and solid. The other issue with this TV is the lack of customization in the Picture. Other TVs I've owned namely LG and Sony have a lot more settings for getting the exact PQ that I want. With this TV it just feels pretty limited. I did not test the sound as I use a Soundbar. I know everyone is hyping up the Bravia 9 but I can gaurantee there's almost no Universe where the Sony Bravia 9 is going to be $2,300 "Better" than this TCL QM8 85 inch. Nor would a 83 Inch G4 be $4,000 "better." These TV Manufacturers are getting out of control with their pricing. Especially since all this TV Tech is more than 6 yrs old (QD OLED being 3 yrs old). TVs should be getting cheaper, not more expensive. At it's current sale price of $2,499 this TV is a steal and TCL should be applauded for giving customers a lot of bang and quality for your buck. One thing I hate about TCL is - change your naming convention! Calling your top of the line TV "QM8" for 4 years straight is stupid. And when I was researching this TV, I thought it was last year's model with a different photo. It's not that hard to change the number each year.

Excellent tv, had for around 3 months and love it so much probably buying a second for other room.
