This thing has me scratching my head, wondering what the engineers/designers were thinking. First the positives: great sound, treble & bass controls, clean & attractive design (IMO), front-mounted aux. input & headphone jacks, good reception on both AM & FM, and overall a great feature & function package. Considering the price, it's almost a steal. As for the iPod dock, I can't comment since I don't own an iPod, and as for having to memorize button locations, we had to do that when we got our old Panasonic 20 years ago, so I guess we can do it again. The only negative, at least to me, is that the display backlighting is off when the radio/player is off, and there's no way to change that. The display itself stays on, so you can read it if there is some ambient light, but when it's dark in the room, you must either turn it on for a few seconds or shine a light on it. We haven't had a clock or clock radio that made us do that since about 1972. If you always use it in a lighted room, like an office, this is not an issue, but in a dark bedroom??? Maybe it's for the best, because when it's lit, the light from the top-mounted buttons illuminates the ceiling, even on the lowest setting. These characteristics might explain why, in Nov. of 2010, my brand new clock radio has a build date sticker that says Sept. of 2007. I like it too much to return it, and I would recommend it to a friend only if they can live with the quirky display lighting, or lack thereof. Maybe they were thinking green; turning off the backlight might just save a lump of coal every 100 years or so.

Purchased this unit for my home office so I can listen to the radio and my Ipod. Radio has great reception. Overall sound quality is good. Tends to be a little heavy on the bass but easy to adjust. Remote works great from across the room. You can control your iPod with the remote but you have to be able to see the display on your iPod... which means you might as well just make adjustments on your iPod. All in all this is a great unit for the price.

I liked the features of this unit as listed in the product description on the web site and decided to buy it at the outlet price, which was a good deal. The TEAC has unusual controls. The alarm will only work when the unit is turned off (they call it stand by). The display panel is only lighted when the unit is turned on. So, you can't see the display at night when turned off so that you can wake up to the alarm. Who thought of that process? All the control buttons are same size in in 2 rows. You can't see or read them unless you are looking down or memorize their locations to know how to turn off the alarm when you wake up in the dark. On the plus side, the sound is very good, the Ipod is easy to use and the remote control works well. Overall, I like it but it is definitely different from other models.

I bought this for my office, so I haven't used the alarm. I wanted a docking station and a radio. The sound and reception is awesome. I have a Bose at home and this is almost as good. Display has a dimmer, so you can have it bright, medium or dim. I wish it could be portable with the use of batteries, but I knew it didn't when I bought it. The white looks great with my black iPod. My iTouch fits if you take off the dock adapter. Stereo presets is a huge plus. Great product so far at this cheap price.

I purchased this for a kitchen area and it's perfect for that. I was a bit disappointed that the speaker volume when turned all the way up is still too low, but it wasn't constructed to be a sound blaster. All in all - it is a good choice and my ipod charges well and sounds very good.

I ordered this combination Radio/IPod player to take to work with me. I like to listen to the radio at times and then alternate back to my IPod. This lets me do both with ease. I love the sound; for the prices the sound quaility is as good as the more expensive players. One feature I was specifically looking for was an earphone jack. I have to share my office/cubical area with another worker and he does not like to listen to my choice in radio and music. This player was one of the few that came with the earphone jack. I was even more thrilled when I received my player to discover the earphone jack is on the front of the player. Much more convienent to get to. I am very hapy with my purchase.
