I previously had the Pi8 and was loving those. Then I got these and compared a few songs with the Pi8's. Off the bat, you notice the bass and boomy sounds on these. However, the soundstage is not as good and you do lose some details and sound separation. These are smaller and I love that the case is on the small side, which makes it easy to put in your pocket. They're pretty easy to wirelessly charge since the footprint is small and you don't have to be exact when placing them on the charger. I love how you can customize the earbuds using the app. It's probably one of the best, if not the best apps out there for customization. The multiple band EQ is a definite plus. One thing that bugged me the most is that they kept on stopping my music. Not sure why or the cause, but I could only think it's because I have it paired with my computer as a secondary device. On some occasions, when I'm out walking, the sound would also struggle and would sound like I was too far away with the bluetooth connectivity, even though my phone is right in my pocket. I feel this is a common thing with bluetooth earbuds as my Pi8's also did this. I like that when you put the earbuds in, it notifies you that you are connected and it's pretty instant. Though the earbuds do not feel secure in my ear and I have to constantly check to make sure they are not slipping out. Not a lot of confidence there. I have to say that it can be tricky trying to get the earbuds out of the case as you can't really get a good grip to try to pull them out. When placing the earbuds back in, it doesn't have a very strong magnetic hold and that worries me a little bit if I were to ever drop the case, the earbuds will come flying out. This has happened to me a few times already. Overall, these are very good and great for bass forward songs. They do a decent job with instruments, but the sound on these do sound a little boring compared to the Pi8's. In the end, I will be returning these and sticking with my Pi8's for now. I am waiting on my Devialet Gemini II's to come in to see how those are.
