The Technics A800 noise canceling headphones are some good sounding headphones with a few drawbacks. The headphones come packed with a USB-C cable, a nice pleather carrying case, and an airplane adaptor. The headphones themselves are kind of bulky, but that doesn’t mean they’re uncomfortable to wear. They are indeed comfy to wear, especially in long listening sessions. This is due to the soft cushiony leather ear pads and the head strap that offers the same material. They do feel heavy when you first put them on, but I got used to them fairly quickly. The headphones offer a USB-C input for charging and a headphone input for wired use. There are 4 physical buttons on the right ear, other than the power button, the other 3 I found to be very inconvenient…The Vol up and down buttons and the play button are all cramped together very tightly, this makes it hard to push the right button. Luckily, I was able to use my phone to control those options. The biggest aspect of the A800’s, is that they pack some serious sound. The 40mm drivers offer some deep and smooth bass, while easily being able to hear all the details in the vocals and music. The headphones offer a good range of highs and lows. Everything that I listened to, from music to movies - sounded incredible. They also have a sensor that detects when you take them off, and it automatically stops the playback. The A800 does offer noise cancelling features, as well as transparent mode and attention mode. I wasn’t really impressed with the noise canceling feature on these headphones, even with tweaking the settings, I was still able to hear a lot of external noises. But, when I had my music playing, it was able to block out mid to low volumes. Transparent mode or attention mode sounded weird to me, so I didn’t use it that much. Overall, I like the A800 headphones, they have amazing sound quality and build quality. The noise canceling could use some improvement, as I’ve had better NC in cheaper headphones. The headphones are a bit heavy at first, but they are very comfortable to wear for long periods. I enjoy listening to these and I would recommend them.

I found myself really enjoying these headphones for a multitude of reasons. They are extremely comfortable with large ear cushions that also block out sound a little better. They are accurately responsive to the touch controls on the ear muff and have an easy to reach volume up and down + power button. While inside, the noise cancellation works really well and I can't hear anybody talking or any outside noises that may be coming into the house. When I was sitting outside I could hear some birds chirping and a nearby high schools announcer during a football game with noise cancellation at max level. I had to turn the volume up to max level to drown out the noise. The ambient mode is great for really letting in sound from your surroundings but I typically use these with noise cancellation on. This particular model lets you set your noise cancellation on a scale of 1-10 with the companion app. I didn't find much difference so I always keep it at 10 for full noise cancellation. Overall, the sound on these new Technics headphones is great. The bass is very powerful especially if you create your own sound signature to heavily favor bass and the mids and highs are clear even on high volume with little to no distortion. A couple of other neat features are that you can connect these to 2 devices at a time for easily switching between your phone and PC. I sometimes use these on PC to take calls from work through Zoom. The audio quality is a bit lacking on a phone call but there wasn't high expectations on this front. The carrying case is durable and provided ample amount of protection plus storage for the headphones and accessories but the headphones prove difficult to store due to the Velcro organizer that comes loose every now and then. Overall, I am really enjoying these Technics and I don't think they should be passed on when comparing to other brands. They sound great, feel comfortable, and look nice.

These headphones right off the bat, when unboxing them would be great for travel or on the train or bus or airplane. These also have a wired function to plug into your stereo if you have that option available to you. They are very comfortable and after a couple of days of wearing them and listening to a lot of different types of music, I have to say they are very nice headphones. They look very premium and that is great thing. And lately I do take my headphones off and place them on my shoulder to give myself a rest or break and with these I can easily do that. The buttons are simply laid out, which I do enjoy using a lot because the ANC is now easily turned on and off by touch on the right ear cup. The only negative is that I accidentally hit it when I raise my arms over my head, like when I stretch. The set up is ok, not as easy as others I have tried. You have to really go into your bluetooth settings and pair them and was not automatic with me. No big deal, but there was an extra step to go and pair my devices. The app was straight forward and no complaints there. They offer an EQ which I am a big fan of. Believe it or not, a lot of companies do not offer EQ's and that is a shame. Now to the sound? Well for me, the sound is decent, but not my preference, even with a custom setting on the EQ for me. The sound is very clear, but not very rich for me. Also, when taking a call, the callers often asked me to repeat myself on a call, and I am at home, no noise and no wind because I am inside. I have not had this issue with any of my other headsets. However, the battery life on this is pretty insane. 50 hours and that is a long time. It's a good headset but I have better and cheaper ones that I would rather grab than these. Even though they look really, really nice. The multi pair was pretty seemless and worked without any issue. I paired this with my smart TV and then switched the audio to my phone, which worked smoothly. Would I recommend it? I guess yes because they are not bad by any means, but I have had slightly better, but that is personal preference. I am no audiophile, but I know what I like. And I like these, but not enough to use them consistantly. The ANC is decent, the comfort is there along with the build quality and high quality look. But for me, all my music lacked richness. But that is my preference.

I was SOOOOOOOOO stoked to get the chance to review the first pair of ANC headphones from Technics. My parents's Technics gear is still the reference that I go by for what a quality system sounds like, and my Technics turntable is a revelation of sound and quality. While these new headphones look sharp, where it really counts, the sound, is a complete let-down. To add insult to injury, they also aren't that comfortable, and the build quality leaves a lot to be desired. I understand that Technics is trying to get into a very competitive ANC headphone market and to keep the price target they set, they had to make some sacrifices, but I would say they should have gone the opposite way and gone a $150-200 more and made a 'Cadillac' of headphones. Everybody can do noise cancelling now. It's not new tech like when Bose launched the class years and years ago. Everyone can also make headphones with lots of plastic, pleather, and some memory foam. I want Technics to innovate and give us, a headphone done with titanium and leather, or at least some new tech behind the drivers that evokes a WOW when you fire up 'Baba O'Riley' by the Who or 'Rosanna' by Toto. I will pay a premium for THAT headphone. BTW, the sound signature for the A800s is a bit too bottom heavy for my taste and it doesn't even do that well, it seems more 'flabby' and it messes with everything else. That isn't to say that the Technics A800's are BAD, they aren't, but they also don't bring anything to the table that several other brands bring, some at an even better price. What the A800s have is: - Decent Padding; though not enough for someone who is lacking enough hair on the top of their head (such as I) to supplement what they give you. I couldn't wear the Technics for more than two hours without taking them off because the point of my noggin was killing me. Also, my ears were sweating as well (though that was partially because we are experiencing a more humid and hot few days than we are used to). - Long Battery Life; I think I drained the battery about 15 percent while running it through my 82 track Headphone Test playlist. It is about five hours long, so I see no reason why they can't hit the 50 hours of playback that Technics says it can do. - Good Noise Cancelling; decent but not better than quite a few others out there. Maybe Technics can isolate one set of frequencies for their 'industry leading' claim, but for someone who often uses their ANC headphones JUST as noise-blockers (so I can concentrate while writing or reading), they are not the best out there. - Good App; lots of controls, a five band EQ, and well organized. This IS better than the offerings of many others. - Easy Set-Up; while other headphones can also connect easily, the Technics set do it well with TWO sources. I had my A800s connected to both my iPhone and my MacBook and it was easy to switch sources. Great for when I came in from outside and streaming from my phone, to working on my laptop in my office. Again, are the Technics A800s bad? No, not at all. They are a good pair of ANC headphones, and if you dig the styling, want the Technics name emblazoned on them, and they fit you well, please go out and buy them.

The Technics EAH-A800 headphones are absolutely worth trying. I own two other pair of over the ear headphones and have tried several others that are all around this price range. These are definitely a pair I will be using on a regular basis. Unboxing was typical and once open, you immediately see the protective carrying case that they are stored in. It is good quality and light enough to not add much additional weight. Inside of the case are the headphones along with a charging cord, airplane adapter, and an aux cord for a headphone jack if available. Once paired, I played music of various types and felt completely absorbed into it especially with noise cancelling on. Although it doesn’t keep everything out, it does a good job of blocking everyday general noises that are around you. In order to further explore options I made sure to download the Technics Audio Connect software which opens up more options that will help you fine tune your headphones. Within the app you can change the name of them, modify the noise cancelling and ambient settings from low to high using a number scale, use preset equalizers or create a customized one based on your preferences. I tried the high and low extremes of each setting and found my preference eventually. As I was doing this, I was a bit disappointed in the level of the bass but not so much that I would not use these as the sound is excellent overall. From a construction standpoint, the Technics A800 are solidly put together with what seems to be high quality components. The ear cups feel very comfortable even after being on for an hour or more. The side tap control for turning on and off ANC works well and is very responsive. There are a couple of buttons on the right side for power, volume and telephone call control. The directions do a good job of showing how to use these but they are very typical and will be like others you are used to. I would have liked for the buttons to be a bit more separated for ease of use but, once you get used to them, it is completely fine. Overall, these sound great, are definitely a solid competitor at this price range and so far, even after about 20 hours of on and off use, there is no indication that the battery is anywhere near needing to be charged. You will not be disappointed with these.

Technics A800 Headphones I love using these headphones… the Technics A800 Headphones are very well designed, comfortable to wear for long periods of time, have the battery life to sustain those long periods, they are able to be compacted into a decently sized travel case, and more importantly, they have great sound and noise cancelling. Audio Quality: The sound quality is great, very well balanced. Listening to music ranging from hip hop to classical, I could hear voices and instruments very clearly. You can use the sound enhancement feature on the Technics app to produce different sounds effects. (Ex. If you want to increase bass, vocal, or treble, there are different options to do so.) Noise Cancelling: The active noise cancellation features are very effective at blocking out unwanted noise. Testing them on a loud bus, I was pretty much deaf to the sounds of people around me. As for the ambient mode, I found that the ‘attention’ mode was not very effective. Voices were not as easy to hear, I preferred to use the transparent mode instead. Design: Visually, these headphones look amazing… I love their sleek design. On the other hand, some things I didn’t like were the button design and placement and the cushioning. The control buttons on the right side of the headphones are a little difficult to discern from one another. Without looking, I found it difficult to pick out the pause button from the bunch. After a while, I began to memorize where the buttons were placed, and then it was just a matter of feeling around until I found the button I was looking for. Essentially, you do get used to their positions after using them more. But if the buttons were spaced out and made distinct shapes, they would definitely be easier to access. As for the cushioning, the top headband piece becomes slightly uncomfortable after long periods of use. Mic: I found that these headphones are great at blocking out unwanted noise while to talking to others. I played some music pretty loud, and my guy on the other end could not really hear it. Overall, these are a great choice for people looking for headphones with noise cancelling and great audio. Plus, they look great to wear!

I am someone who is currently in the gym a minimum of 3 days a week. On days that I’m strength training, I like many others love to have a good playlist going to help me get through my workout. I workout a gym with very good, but loud music so there are a few things that are important to me when choosing a noice canceling headset. One of those things is comfort. Sweating is an obvious obstacle that have made it difficult for other headphones in the past to stay out, or they make my ears sweat. These feel comfy over the ear, and actually do a great job at canceling out all of the background noise that comes with the gym atmosphere. They did slide a bit once I started sweating. The sound quality is decent, but not as good as some of the bigger name brands in my opinion. The battery life has been great, I have had them for about a week, at about 4 hours of usage and the battery life is still on high. These are a great alternative to other brands, and I think I will continue to have these in the gym bag. Pairing the headphones were easy, and I haven’t had them randomly disconnect on me.

The Technics wireless headphones are phenomenal. They are so lightweight and have amazing sound quality. The headphones have great noise cancellation and it makes for super clear, filtered audio. I have yet to have any audio problems with them. The battery lasts about 2-3 days without needing to be charged and i have made these apart of my everyday life. You can’t get better quality sound from any other product on the market. I have been looking for good, over ear headphones for the gym for months and everthing either has super tacky audio, had a super cheap build or breaks within a week or so. They stay on your head very well and have yet to fall off. I can take them in the carrying case anywhere and feel safe knowing they wont break. The case is super durable and protects the headphones super well. The only thing i’d change is the headphone padding. The leather ones they come stocked with get very hot and will need to be washed every use. Everything about these headphones are perfect and i love them. I would 100% recommend these to anyone in the market for new headphones for anything.

Wait! What? Sorry, I can’t hear you because I am wearing these amazing Technics noise canceling headphones. The sound is amazing and you can totally lose yourself while listening to your fav tunes/shows/movies, etc. At the touch of a button, using the Technics App or tapping with your fingers on the right outer center Right headphone, you can paise noise cancellation and quickly return to ambient noise (the noise you’d normally hear around you. The sensitivity level can be adjusted using the Technics App and then saved. So if you have noise cancellation toggled on, but you can still hear noise, go into the App and move the lever until you don’t hear noise and then save the setting. You can do the same for the bass, treble and more by downloading and using the App. Removing the headphones from your head turns off the music. Putting them back on your head, turns then back on. So cool!! The App allows for various personalizations to setting your listening experience. It’s definitely for those who are more tech savvy. These are not your typical headphones and if you’re not tech savvy, you will most likely need some help navigating the useful tools on the App to get the sound you want. The headphones are labeled R and L inside the headphone ear pieces. You can use the buttons on the bottom of the right earphone. Pause, fast forward, play are some of the options from the headset buttons. You can also set up how you want to use the headset for talking while on the phone or while on a video call. The headphones are lightweight but a bit bulky. They come with a zippered carrying case for protection and carrying. I highly recommend this Technics headphones to the tech savvy community.

This is a confusing pair of headphones to evaluate. There is really nothing obvious and stand out in terms of subpar sound quality, but likewise nothing that really pulls ahead in the other direction. It meets the bare minimum of what can be asked for in over-the-ear type headphones. Audio doesn't break apart at high volumes and certain songs do sound layered at times; Lost Cause by Beck comes to mind, but it was all too common to hear tracks that don't live up to their potential. For example, Daft Punk vinyl darn near makes my stylus jump off the turntable, but through these it comes across a tad muddled. Am I being a bit too nitpicky? Perhaps. But I don't consider myself an audiophile at all. And usually, I can fiddle with the equalizer once and make that my default of 99% of my listening experience, but too frequently I found myself constantly setting the EQ at different levels depending on the track. Okay, hyper focused critique part over. Everything else about these headphones are wonderful. I was very impressed by the noise cancelling quality. I can be down in the 3rd state of unconsciousness and still hear my cat crying for something and no pair of headphones I've used could come close to drowning him out. These headphones are the only ones that can completely cancel out his noise. I love the ambient feature that can identify surrounding voices and let that pass through while filtering out all the other random background noise. I can be deeply invested in music while at the same time respond when someone talks to me. The tap function can be programmed for a few different noise cancelling functions and are a breeze to use. Battery life can last for days. I used these for hours at a time, for days at a time with the internal voice always signaling "battery high" with just one charge. Clamping pressure was at a nice, sweet spot. Tight enough to get a good seal but not so snug where it was uncomfortable to wear, even with glasses. If anyone is familiar with the triangle of home repair, then this set would be the equivalent. Imagine a triangle with the sayings Good Price, Timely Work, and Build Quality on each corner. The saying goes, "pick two cause you ain't getting all three". Rather replace those words with, Sound Quality, Battery, Comfort. Not that this analogy works for everything, or that it's a bad thing to get two really good features with a bit of a sacrifice on the other end, it's just something that came to mind when using these headphones.

Thank you for providing a detailed and balanced review of these headphones. It's clear that while you found the sound quality to be decent, it didn't consistently meet your expectations across all music genres, which is a common challenge with many headphones. Your emphasis on the effectiveness of the noise cancelation and the ambient feature is helpful, especially for those who prioritize these aspects for everyday use. The Technics Wireless Noise Cancelling Over-Ear Headphones (EAH-800) is a great set of headphones for commuting and travel. The EAH-800 folds into the premium feeling travel case that contains an airplane adapter and charging cable. It has a 50 hour battery life, there is more metal than plastic when compared to Sony or Bose, and the noise cancelling is very good. The music experience with the technics is overall good with clear range that does not get muddled with bass heavy drivers. When receiving a call with the EAH-800s on, I was able to hold a conversation in a noisy city environment without any issues. Alternatively, I could switch off the active noise cancellation with two taps on the right earcup to turn of the active noise cancelling so I could hear what is going on around me. One feature which I have expected is the ability two connect to two devices. However, I had to download the Technics app to enable multi device connectivity. The default is 1 device connectivity. In addition, I could not connect more than two devices at one time. Once I connected a third device one of the two already connected devices would get kicked off. Another issue for me with these headphones was the button placement for volume up and down. I have become accustom to touch gestures to modify volume levels or clear spacing between the volume and pause/play buttons. I think a way to make this product better out of the box is to default to multipoint connectivity instead of making the user opt in to a now standard feature through an app. At this point I am nit picking small things, but when you use something everyday to commute you soon realize these small things can become big annoyances over the course of 1-5 years. Only you know what small things for someone else would become a big issue for you. So with premium build quality, premium sound quality, and premium active noise cancellation, why is the EAH-800 not as popular as Bose or Sony? I think there is room to grow for the Technics but it is more along the lines of refining their touch gestures and headphone features in a commuter setting rather than the sound and active noise cancelling. As of right now, the EAH-800 are tough to beat when it comes to the sound and active noise cancelling combination; when you add a 50 hour battery life you start to look past the minor shortcomings.

The name “Technics” carries a lot of weight in the audio department, and purchasing these wireless noise cancelling headphones, you’ll largely get exactly what you expect from the brand. Set up on these headphones was as easy as you’d expect from Bluetooth device. While I love that the headphones recognize when they’re removed from your head and pause whatever content you’re listening to, I did have a few occasions where the content I was listening to kept pausing until I adjusted the positioning of the headphones on my head. This wasn’t a consistent issue, but worth mentioning as a possible fix. Sound quality is absolutely amazing. The bass hits hard, but it’s not overdone. The highs are high and clear. There’s an overall clarity and crispness to audio out of these headphones. The noise cancellation is great. I truly felt isolated with these headphones on. Build quality in the other hand was not as great. I wouldn’t say it’s bad, but looking at the long term use of a product of this nature, I’d have some questions/concerns. The button are meh. The feel of the power button and its responsiveness feels inconsistent. The ear muffs feel good today, tomorrow, but they day after tomorrow? Any form of condensation and they begin to feel soggy. Not a pair of headphones I’d look towards for a workout. I also wouldn’t feel good about these falling off my head. I haven’t drop tested them, but they feel like if I did something might come off. For anyone looking to sit down and take in some audio, these headphones are phenomenal. Music, movies, audiobooks, podcasts, I’ve done it all with these and they come through on all fronts. Be advised though, these probably aren’t made for the rugged. I’d keep your kids away from these for the safety of the headphones.

Got these Technics Wireless Noise Cancelling Over-Ear Headphones– a couple weeks ago and they are phenomenal. True wireless, noise canceling, and fantastic sound quality. 1. Sound Quality: the most important aspect of any headphones has got to be the sound quality. These headphones are absolutely killer! Really sound great at all volume levels from barely on to full blast. The noise cancelation works surprisingly well and allows for low level listening even in a noisy environment. These even have some sort of ambient noise creation that silences the outside even when there’s nothing playing in the headphones, as to just let you sit in actual peace and quiet for a minute. The noise cancellation may work a little too well, my wife gets mad at me that I don’t hear her calling me when I have these on because they really work that well. Sound is crystal clear with excellent bass response, and terrific overall audio performance. 2. Design and Build: The headphones are well-constructed and seem very durable. Have a classy and sharp look with smooth. These are almost over-engineered with 3-Layer Diaphragm 40mm drivers, 8 mics and wind noise reduction, and combines Dual Hybrid feedforward & feedback noise cancelling with analog & digital processing. These are seriously sophisticated headphones. 3. Connectivity Options: Has standard simple to connect Bluetooth and USB inputs. Also sports 3.5mm auxiliary headphone audio input. This increases the speakers ability to connect to older devices and adds versatility. 4. Battery Life: For seriously nice headphones like these the battery life is crucial. These battery in these headphones last well longer than I’ve ever wanted to wear them! I’ve gone several days, probably 20 continuous hours on a single charge without problem. Of course battery life will vary with usage habits but overall battery seems very good with these. 5. Price: Price of these headphones seems totally fair given their long list of top notch highest quality features and performance. The price is in line with other headphones of similar category with similar specs. Overall really, really nice headphones with phenomenal sound. I would recommend to a friend or even buy again myself.

I Bought These For My Kid, But I May Keep Them :-)

Not really, but I may buy a second set, or at least borrow these on occasion. These were acquired for my 6 year old son for gaming on the PS5. We connected them directly to the controller with no additional set up. They fit him (and me) securely without pressing hard on your head and causing discomfort. Packaging Solid quality packaging that kept everything secure. It was not over the top or unnecessary, but it did have a high-end feel. Quality and Comfort I was immediately impressed out how solid and high quality these headphones feel. They’re have a weighted feel without being overly heavy. The ear cushions feel comfortable and breathable. They have a nice balance when wearing them that rivals other high-end headphones. As for sound, I was immediately impressed. Whether it was listening to the nuances of music, or listening for the miniscule sound of someone walking toward you in “Call of Duty”, these headphones performed! Controls and App I’m still a little unsure of the controls. Their placement doesn’t seem to be as intuitive as I think it could’ve been and I still seem to fumble with pushing buttons. But it may just be something I have to get used to. The app has tons of features to customize your listening to include some sensor systems and an equalizer. It’s worth looking into. Features The two features that I herald on these headphones are Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and the ability to connect to two devices, allowing you to switch between two devices instantaneously. The ANC is very well done! Even in a house full of screaming kids and dogs, I couldn’t hear my wife asking me to do any of the chores I was expected to do! 😊 Seriously though, it drowns out almost everything! Amazing. And having the ability to switch between devices immediately is just more convenient than having to take headphones off for a call. While these headphones are being underutilized by my son and his gaming adventures, I’ll let him keep them for now. But to Technics, I say bravo!!! You have my attention for future purchases! I would recommend these headphones to friends and family.

Amazing for Work and Personal Use

Let me start by saying that the Technics EAH-A800 wireless noise canceling over ear headphones have made my life so incredibly convenient. Between being able to easily switch between two devices, and with the massive battery life, I am down to just needing one set of headphones for both work and personal use. I work on the phone, pretty much all day. The Technics EAH-A800s are comfortable for all day use. The noise canceling is amazing on these. I used to always have to take a break from my work from home office when my neighbor was mowing his lawn, because people could hear it in the background. The EAH-A800s do an incredible noise canceling job, I feel like I could ride in a convertible with them on and have a phone conversation with someone. I mentioned that I can use these for both work and my personal life. The reason for that is the massive battery life, as well as the short charging time should I ever forget to keep them charged. A full battery on these is meant to last 50 hours, and I can confirm that they will at least last more than 20 hours of solid use. That said, if I ever forget to charge them, a 15 minute charge will get me through 10 hours, which is to say an entire day of work. It also doesn't hurt that they are sleek and stylish, so when using them out in public, it doesn't look like I just have a work headset with me. The included carrying case is great for traveling, as it allows me to ease attack everything in a backpack or suitcase, and not worry about damaging the headset, nor losing any of the included cables.

Great looking and sounding headphones. They are super comfortable even for hours on end and do not hurt if you wear glasses. Sound is amazing and i think the anc is on par with compriable headphones. Battery lasts forever and the 15 minute quick charge gets you 10 hours of playback which is a huge plus! All in all i would recommend these.
