Tekken is by far my favorite fighting game series of all time, and Tekken 6 really takes the cake. All the big favorites are there, such as Marshall Law, Paul Phoenix, Nina Williams, and of course the Mishima family. There are also some interesting new characters as well. For example, you have Lars Andersson, who's fighting style is very punch-oriented yet very powerful. For the unconventional, there is Zafina, who utilizing an extremely awkward fighting style that's supposed to be pretty ancient. For the comedically inclined, there is Bob, a karate master who tries to win the tournament with an obese physique. Finally, there is Azazel, the final boss. He is a cross between Ogre from Tekken 3 and the Egyptian god Anubis. In total, there are 42 characters in this game! The gameplay is still in its classic form but with a few changes. First of all, there is a Rage system that kicks in when you or your opponent is low on health. The health bar starts to flicker red, and that character can then cause extra damage. Also, when a character is knocked to the ground he or she cannot tech roll. This is obviously bad for the person getting knocked down but good for those who can do long chains of combos. Thirdly, there are several stages where one can knock a character onto another tier or through a wall. Obviously, this game has not been released as of today, 2/2/09. However, I am really looking forward to when it comes out. This installment has obviously been modified yet it still retains the attitude and complexity of the series itself.

I preordered this with high expectations. I have played every Tekken ever! This was no different. First thing I noticed was the funny sounding voices for the characters. then the slow loading times were awful. I installed the game and that seemed to help...a little. Playing online runs a lot smoother than what it did on Tekken 5dr but the layout of the online campaign is terrible. You never have the chance to rematch on a ranked battle unless you just get lucky and get put with that person again, the rooms with more than two people in them are not ranked anymore. I do like how each individual character has there own ranking instead of a total ranking. that gets people to use more than just one person all of the time. I would still prefer to play 5dr than this one though.

Its Tekken. Always a great game. I love this Tekken but have a major issue with the story mode. Does'nt compare to the core gameplay at all. Seems very odd they chose to add this feature. The best way I can describe it is think of the old version of Street Fighter with better graphics. Putting that aside... the actual reason why you bought this game is still alive and kicking. The fights are well crafted and with the polished graphics and sound its in its glory day. The online works well and is also fun. If you want something different you will be let down with story mode. If you want the same old feeling that Tekken deliver but with next gen graphics then you will have that. Enjoy.

I loved playing Tekken on Playstation 2 and I just know i will love this update version and new improve version of the series. The fighting styles are totally a rational and really make you get into the game played. The characters are well they and as well as the classic controller from the playstation 2 just updated an more advance. This a brilliant well through game and the scenes and are full with fun and exciting textures and color. Some scenes are so realist and move with the characters every move.

I have fallen in love with Tekken over the years, and this most recent installment doesn't disappoint. The graphics are great, the characters are well designed and diverse, there are plenty of game modes to keep you busy, there are tons of character customization options. My only complaint is the long wait times...which seem to have improved, especially after installing the game to the HDD. Overall, this is an excellent game and well worth a play...

Tekken 6 does have some great things going for it. It has beautiful graphics, more characters, and enhanced gameplay features, like the new Rage system. However, there are some changes made that I didn't care for as much. Certain characters lost some of their moves/attacks that were essential to winning, for example Ling Xiaoyu does not have her side somersault that she used to avoid attacks. This type of maneuver is key to Ling's fighting style and is sorely missed. The load times are really long, but I just read in another review that this is solved by installing the game on the HDD, so I will try that. In addition, one of the best things about the Tekken series is the music. I don't like the music in this game as much as previous versions. Overall, Tekken 6 is more like a step to the side rather than a step up or down. If you are a fan of the series, it's a must own, but if you are new, I would suggest getting Tekken 5: DR. It still does get my recommendation though.

People complain about the load times but after you install the game on ur hardrive through the options menu its a whole lot quicker. The giant bosses are almost impossible to defeat but you can still unlock endings just by playing the game long enough. Its great for Tekken fans, period. The one player "Tekken Force" mode is also fun (for me at least). Customizable items are also great there are alot.

I hadn't played Tekken in a while but this is one of the best fighting games around. The graphics are outstanding, even on my standard defenition TV (I really want to see this in HD). The design and personality of each character is distinctive, you'll no doubt find a favorite fighter. The music rocks and fits the action nicely. The controls are the same as in the rest of the series (one button controls the right punch, another the left punch, right kick, left kick). It's a complex set up, but it works great and quickly becomes intuitive. Blocking is done by pushing back on the on the control pad (much better than Virtua Fighter's guard button). The conrols are quick and responsive and the action moves at a fast and furious pace. The only problem is scenario mode. The controls, while so responsive in other modes, are a battle in scenario mode. It's difficult, if not altogether impossible to execute certain moves or combos in scenario mode (there are no problems in arcade or other fighting modes by the way) and a lack of camera controls makes it hard to see whats around you. At least no one's forcing you to play scenario mode, so you can ignore it if you like. All in all, this is a high-quality game. If you like fighitng games, check out Tekken 6.

I have been a long time fan of the Tekken series and was looking forward to this game for a long time. When I heard that they would be doing online matches I was a little skepticle because if there was any lag at all the matces would be worthless in proving your worth. Well, I was right to be a skeptic. The online portion of this game is anything but perfect. There has to be at least a .25 second delay in most matches that I have encountered making streaming combos together almost impossible. However, Namco has stated that they are working on a patch to fix this issue. In the meantime, you can always enjoy Tekken 6 in the classic way....buddy up on the couch and go at it. The combos have been tweaked in this game and the characters have been more evenly balanced. Happy King Iron Fist Tournament!

For me this game was worth the wait. Been a fan of the series since Tekken 2, The graphics are crazy and the new moves added are just ridiculous. I haven't been able to get online and go at it yet, so I can't say if there is any lag factor. If you like mind blowing fighting this is the one for you. If your a tactical fighter this is the one for you. If you like fighting games, this is the one for you. My only beef is the loading times. They can suck the excitment out of the experience, I guess it's something you have to get use to.

I have played Tekken since Tekken 3 during my college days. I fell in love with it and have never looked back. I have been waiting eagerly for this installment for months and it did not disappoint. The load times were horrible till I installed it as is recommended and now this is a non issue. The same with the graphics in game play. if you do not install it will look like the last game. Do the install and a whole new game opens up. I am super impressed with this game and recommend it to everyone!!

I've played tekken in the past and I was amazed by all of them, well... until this one. The creator's tried to put a storyline which i know they have all had, but this one makes it seem like it's the best ever, which is not. None of my friends like it but i don't care what they say because i'm the absolute GAMER of the group. I read up on all games and i read this one thinking that the story mode was going to be awesome and... i was a little disapointed. Overall its an okay game but you need to find the right crowd for it.

ive had tekken 3,5, and now 6. this is the best 1 til tekken 7 next year. great character selection and online play is pretty cool. like on other tekkens the bosses are usually hard(espically jinpachi from tekken 5) but the boss azsasel is dang near impossible to beat on medium and on easy lol! and dont get me started on the nancy robot lol .....but anyway if u played other tekkens or even the soulcalibur series you will love this game. definately worth the 19.99 price tag and it is a must have fighting game for any age fighter. and the graphics are so much better and the moves on most of the characters r still there!

This item really gave me my moneys worth and I would recomend it to anyone. I like the fact that it isn't too easy and you can still follow along with the original characters.

Loading time between matches is a little long, controls are a little different, updated graphics are not super impressive. I think I may just continue playing the HD version they released for download on the PS3.

outstanding graphics and great machanics, the character customization is a great bonus

I've played Tekken since it first came out years ago. This is by far the best. The graphics are very detailed and the fact that each fight scene has hidden features such as throwing your opponent through walls or slamming them through the floor, makes the game much more exciting. There are many hidden bonus features in this game that I haven't even discovered yet.

This is a very good game. I haven't had any problems out it. The only thing is the last boss is hard to beat. I like that they have added in online game play and updated the graphics. Very good game for the money.

I got this game on sale...cyber monday it is... this game has made my hunny played ps3..i love it.... i just hate the loading. eats too much time...

Fun game with terrific graphics. I enjoyed the storyline as I was to better understand the characters and their origins.
