This is a great big screen movie with a cast involving hundreds of extras. The movie features excellent performances by all the actors and amazing stunts in a complex plot timeline with an engaging music score. The Protagonist quickly gains the audience’s attention through his stellar performance in the opening scene. The plot mystery develops as he investigates different clues as the movie becomes a series of carefully planned heists. The character friendships and story development continues with many top notch co-stars throughout the movie. His partner in this adventure plays a big role throughout and their stunt performances from gun fights to jumping off buildings is amazing. The sets filmed around the world also makes the movie gritty and real. The pacing of the movie is also well done and keeps the audience engaged, unlike Batman the Dark Knight Begins and Inception. Those two movies dragged on too long and lost the audience’s attention in the final extended act. Watching the extras on disc was very educational and informative on the planning and details needed to build the set, rehearse, and perform the scenes. I am very glad to have bought this movie and plan on buying more as gifts for family and friends.

Although feeling frustratingly convoluted and needlessly over-complicated at times, Christopher Nolan's latest sci-fi spectacle Tenet remains a surprisingly satisfying popcorn blockbuster starring John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki and Kenneth Branagh. At its heart, the plot is a relatively traditional espionage action thriller littered with familiar tropes, but in true Nolan form, the story is grounded in perplexingly complex theoretical science that manages to be both its hindrance as well as its point of interest. The sci-fi spy actioner lands on Ultra HD with a spectacularly gorgeous 4K HDR10 presentation, supplying several notable upgrades over its Blu-ray counterpart, but the same, ear-piercing DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack. Porting over the same set of supplements, the overall UHD package is a recommended addition to the library.

I very much enjoyed my viewing of Tenet. Definitely a bit confusing at times, but I understood enough to feel interested in the resolution. As a 4k disc, the visuals were great but the audio was on another level. This disc is easily one of my best showpiece for audio drawing you into the experience. It is a bit of a double edged sword since Nolan prioritizes the score over dialogue, but most of the dialogue that is difficult to hear is all at times where the dialogue isn't overly important to understanding the plot. It is always just supplemental info. I never had a moment where a crucial plot point or critical exchange was drowned out. I will say my audio setup is 5.1.4, and I would imagine the experience might not be as solid on stock tv speakers or a setup without a separate channel for dialogue. Still a great disc.

Tenet looks great and sounds great, although the criticisms about the dialogue levels are spot on (I had to turn on the subtitles right away during first action set piece). This movie is narratively dense and story doesn't come into full view until about halfway through. It did not surprise me that a physicist was on set as an advisor. But give Tenet a chance. I think, similar to Christopher Nolan's other films, this movie will get better each time I rewatch it. Reference level 4K UHD presentation.

So, this is the 3rd time I've watched this movie and I just cant understand it so my review will be about the quality of the movie! I love Christopher Nolan films but where he falls short in movies is the sound mixing unfortunately! Dialog is very low and the music and explosions are super loud! Everything else looks great, I don't think John Washington has what it takes to be the lead actor, maybe some years down the line but for right now he's not even close to being in the same league his father is! Although I didn't quite understand the movie I had to take a star off for bad sound mixing and a lack luster performance from John Washington!

Watching this spectacular 4K movie is like riding a giant rollercoaster full speed forward and full speed backward all at once. It's an incredible rush. I suggest not worrying too much how all the details fit together since it's so complex, just go along for the wild ride and it'll make sense in the end. There have been many time travel movies over the years, which I've loved, but I must concede this is the best of them. The realism is beyond compare, which grows and expands as the plot develops. Viewed projected in 4K onto a 120" screen, with full surround sound, it's a mind-bending, immersive experience. The sound track is teeth-jarringly powerful. This is one of the best thriller/SF/time-travel 4K movies in a long time.

You know how some movies ramp up some feeling so much that you feel different after seeing it? Like how you are sometimes more wary of your environment after watching a horror movie? Well Tenet is so mind-stretching, and is such a brain-rewiring experience, that afterwards I didn't even feel like time was moving in a normal way. It makes all of life's troublesome details seem like arbitrary bits of a point in time that you can just relish as a viewing of Tenet! It's quintessential Christopher Nolan, and an absolute must! It's presentation on 4K blu-ray is also just a joy to behold! You can tell Nolan and his team really dotes over the precise visuals.

We had to own this to complete our Christopher Nolan film collection. While this may not be our favorite film in his repertoire overall; we are partial to his Batman films, it is a solid script. As always well cast and beautifully filmed. You’ll need to pay close attention to follow the action here, as the plot is at times complicated, but the film is visually stunning. This entry is more along the lines of Inception plot-wise, than it is of his superhero movies. Repeated views will undoubtedly reveal details you may have missed the first time around. 4k transfer is flawless, both in picture and sound. 4 stars overall simply for the “busy” concept.

This 4K disc is a bit of a mixed-bag. Picture-wise, it’s AMAZING. The IMAX shots look stunning, especially on a big 4K screen. Sound-wise…it’s not great, particularly the dialogue. If you have a surround setup, you may have to play with your sound settings just to hear what the heck people are saying (or just turn on the subtitles). As far as the movie itself, again it’s a mixed-bag. The plot is definitely a head-spinner (WAY more than Inception), so if you’re a sucker for those things, you might enjoy this. If that sort of thing irritates you, then you might want to pass it up.

This is not a review on the movie, just presentation. 4K is the way to go for this film, the score, visuals, and sound effects are really loud and have a punch. You will get the shifting IMAX aspect ratio scenes, so that’s a bonus, looks good if you have a large 4K TV. Just wish it had a Dolby Atmos track but just DTS-HD, which is not bad. Only con is the talking, the audio mix is really not that great here. Scenes with score and action, it’s not distinguishable, the dialogue. Subtitles is the way to go. If you’re a Nolan fan, IMAX aspect ratios, and a gut punching soundtrack, you will want to BUY this movie.

I really like this movie. I'm actually glad that I was able to see it in the theaters..... with 6 other people. 2020 was something else. The reopening of theaters after the summer wasn't jam packed with many titles, but with a Christopher Nolan film... it's a matter of quality over quantity. I knew going in that I would have to take all of the mental notes I could muster upon first watch. It paid off. I was able to follow and make sense of the movie without a second watch to put the pieces together. Yet, second and third watches are just as enjoyable. Hence the purchase of this 4K disc.

Another terrific film from Christopher Nolan that is both visually and cinematically complex, yet understated at the same time. The cast is compelling and play their parts flawlessly, and although at times the plot may be hard to fully understand, it doesn’t give you so much that by the end you don’t understand what you just watched. It gives enough to be mind boggling, but not so much that you can’t unravel the plot afterwards. Another hit for the legendary director, and the 4K version of the film is a must have.

While it's a little difficult to follow the first time around, the complexity is the fun part of Nolan's latest. Like his prior release, Dunkirk, its greatest fault is in its lack of character development and thus emotional resonance, unlike a couple of his better films such as Inception and Interstellar. In the end, the story construction and editing save the day and the complexity of it all leaves you not just needing but wanting to watch it multiple times. The UHD looks spectacular and after a less than stellar aural experience in the theater, it sounds fantastic as well.

I am a fan of Christopher Nolan's films. So many are amazing films, from the Batman films, to Inception, to Dunkirk, his films are entertaining and fantastically directed. Tenet, however, left me confused. It still has the amazing direction and high production value, but I struggled to understand and enjoy this film. I will need to re-watch it, and perhaps that is the point? Unlike other Nolan films, the music did not let up. This film had little time to breath. It gets going and never backs off. I may have to revise this review later.

First off, I am a huge Christopher Nolan fan. Tenet did not disappoint when it comes to sticking to the time shifting theme. The action scenes were not over the top, but there were a lot of them. The way scenes went in reverse really twists the mind and forces you to keep up with what is going on. Basically, you have to immerse yourself in this lengthy movie if you want to somewhat understand and follow what is going on with it. I found all elements of this movie amazing and will have to re-watch it to fill in some blanks for my own satisfaction.
