I had to buy a serial to USB adapter due to none of my computers support Db9 anymore, and of course cisco routers and switches still use the console cables that sometimes require DB9 connector. This product is great use for that. It's compatible as long as you download the drivers, and set the Putty terminal to COM3, it works great.
