Ordered by mistake, thought it was a TV antenna but it is for a radio. Since it was on clearance I kept it.

I live in Indianapolis, when we walk into a room the reception goes out. Thought a better antenna would help. It did absolutely nothing. Noticed no differences at all.

It has enhanced the reception in our great room set up. Worth the money rather than relying on those cheap ones

This really did not do anything to boost a good signal. All it did was make the white noise louder!

Picked up 8 additional FM radio stations, but none came in clear. They were all full of static. Therefore, it was useless. Returned for refund.

Very disappointed in this antenna. It works no different than a "T" 300ohm antenna. I saw zero improvement using the Terk.

Placement is key

In my city office, I was picking up lots of static and the Terk Edge solved my problem. The rabbit ears I used before were so bulky that they restricted the locations I could try. The rabbit ears were nearly horizontal too. The Terk Edge fits into many more spaces. With patience, I found a sweet spot where the local static did not exist. The radio frequency interference (RFI) is at a null. The best location is within 6 inches of much worse reception (in all directions). Since the rabbit ears are 3 feet long, most of it was outside of the quiet zone.
This small antenna allowed more flexibility and that made all the difference. Because many people return small powered antennae, I got an "open box" discount along with better reception.

I've used this antenna in two different locations. The first location was in a house surrounded by trees and was kind of elevated and the antenna was in the basement which was below ground. It picked up stations pretty well. However when I moved, the reception turned surprisingly weak. I now live in a hill with no trees around and my reception is just not as good as it was before. It is still better than the wire that comes with most receivers but now the different isn't nearly as drastic. It's an ok antenna, I would opt for the more expensive antenna.

I just bought this even tho I had read the other negative ratings. Im just 1 of those people who have to try something myself. I should have listened. I thought this antenna would work better than the 1 that came with my receiver. Unfortuanately, despite the price (one of the more expensive antennas at the store) this didnt help receive stations any better. The stations that are local to me, that I dont need an antenna for, came in very poorly with this plugged in. This item is being returned tomorrow.

Installed the unit as per the instructions, and immediately lost almost all of my stations except very strong local ones, for which you don't even need an antenna. The silly little wire antenna that came with the receiver (although it left a lot to be desired) worked 1000% better than this unit. It was like not having any antenna at all (makes you wonder if there is anything at all inside the case). I live in a wood frame house (no aluminum siding or masonry / steel reinforcing) so shielding is not an issue.
It's going back to the store tomorrow.
