I loved this movie! I thought they did a great job of staying true to what made Terminator special. T1 and T2 are classics but Dark Fate is easily the best Terminator since then. It stays true to form and retains that feel and tone of the first two. From the beginning you’re in for an exhilarating ride. Terminator is once again a thriller/action movie with just the right amount of comedy to provide you with a breather. I loved the new cast such as Grace and the Rev-9 and Arnold is a living legend that finds himself in a new and interesting role. The return of Sarah Connor is great. She was there from the beginning and her absence was felt in previous installments. Overall this is a great movie and one that I hope can launch Terminator into a new renaissance be it through feature length films or streaming series’. Terminator: Dark Fate is a worthy successor to Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

This is my new favorite Terminator movie! I'll all Terminator movies are excellent! This one has a new twist. A new Terminator with a "Split Personality"! The beginning is a recap of what happened in the year 1984 with a new twist that's never been shown. All action! Excellent actors and actresses! Excellent character development! A combination of the new and old Terminator movies. But, a brand new story and plot line! A different type of protector against the Terminator from the future. Strong female cast and actresses! Relentless Pursuits! Excellent fight scenes without all the blood and gore. Excellent car chase scenes and stunts that rivals The Island's Highway car chase scene. A definite must have for your Terminator collection or for your first Terminator movie. Five stars and every category imaginable! A girl just happens to be at the right place and right time but also the wrong place in the wrong time! Definitely five stars in every category, cinematography, character development, actor and actress choice, action scenes, stunts, villains and heroes, unexpected Heroes, and unexpected various twists from the previous Terminator movies!

Well James Cameron went back on his Original plan to fix the Franchise, & cause of this, i'd just go & grab Genesis anyways, even after it flopping... Dark Fate was suppose to fix what was wrong with Genesis, & instead it just copied it, & didn't really improve anything over the Genesis movie... Anyone wanna know the New Terminator Type? It's a Carbon Based Terminator from a different Model... Hence the more Black or Charcoal Black Coloring... I got this idea from a scene where they mentioned something about carbon material in the movie... Movie starts off great, & falls flat right away, from there you could pretty much predict the whole movie... The Line Arnold Gives when you first see him in the Movie, & he says the name Madeio or whatever you call the kid? Kind of made 0 to no sense to me, & this Line made so little sense that it pretty much kills the whole Timeline Continuity & Franchise... o_@ Arnold also plays a more family friendly kind of Jerk in the movie, too No idea what that is about... I give the movie like a 3 out of 5 Stars, for wanting to be better then Genesis, but then not really delivering the material to do better, & actually just doing the same... My Advice? Either stick to the 1st 3 Terminator Movies, or grab them all... After 3rd Movie, there just isn't any point to picking up only 1 or 2 of them... So mise well get them all... No??? PS: I recommended the Movie, simply because I don't think we are getting anything better, or we probably won't get anything better, but hey, I could always be wrong, too. There is also the fact that if you saw Genesis, you mise well see this, too... No??

Love the story from the 1st film all the way to this last New one. Hope they keep it going cuz i’ll be watching as long as Arnold is alive & can keep making these films

This movie was amazing and looks great on my oled tv. The artwork on the steelbook case looks great!

This turned out better than some would have you believe. I enjoyed it and thought it had some great action sequences. Looks and sounds awesome in 4K.

The only one that I liked better was the first one. I liked this one as well as the second one but I didn't like any of the others.

As a fan of the Terminator series, this one did not disappoint. I was shocked at the story but the movie was still awesome. Love the steel book artwork also!

Sarah Connor returns with new help from the future to battle an all new terminater in this action packed film.

This one made so much more sense than the last one I was so happy to see Sarah Conner again.

This movie rocks! It’s a Mustbuy! It sets the path for an Origins sequel.

No matter the direction of the "Terminator" movies, I've always appreciated the actors, and direction of the various films. The fact that it brings back Schwarzenegger and Hamilton adds to the overall story. It shows that Sarah Connor is still " fighting the good fight". Throughout the story, you see how the Terminator has become "more human" after living as part of a family. I appreciated both the character development and progression of story. The idea that someone/something from the future could alter the past never fails to interest me. I would recommend this film to all who enjoy Sci-Fi.

Is this a good movie? Yes, especially if you’ve never seen a Terminator movie before. But that’s the problem; it’s been 30+ years since the first one came out, not to mention the sequels that came after it, so the likelihood of that being the case is small to none. And in that sense, while it’s a good and entertaining movie, like the recent Star Wars trilogy, it doesn’t offer anything new, or nothing we haven’t already seen before. There’s maybe one surprising thing in the very beginning of the movie, but after that, it’s just a compilation of greatest hits and thematic beats from all of the previous James Cameron Terminator movies. The problem with the Terminator movies that came after T2 as I see it, is that the first 2 movies used special effects to enhance the stories being told, while the ones that followed tried to tell the story with SPX. The first Terminator movie was a love story with sci-fi elements, and the second was a ground breaking sci-fi action movie about a mother doing whatever it took to protect her child from death. T2 was ground breaking for its infusion of a strong “leading lady” role during a time when such roles were few and far between (if they existed at all), along with SPX that had not only never been seen before but also revolutionized the way movies would be filmed/shot going forward, with an original story concept that continued to build upon the foundation of the Terminator world that had been established in the first one. None of the subsequently following movies did this, although I will make an allowance for Terminator Salvation, because as bad as that movie became after Sam Worthington’s character is revealed to be a Terminator, it at least took a chance to advance the story by taking us directly into the horrific future the first 2 films merely hinted at. And while I’m on the subject, this is where I think all/any new Terminator movie should be focused on exploring going forward, because if nothing else, Terminator Dark Fate only reinforces the realization that there’s really nothing new to mine from stories within this franchise that take place in the present timeframe. Dark Fate seems to simply take the special effects from T2 and apply them to the plot of the original, but with different actors, which again, doesn’t move the needle regarding the Terminator world itself, and thus we end up with a movie that is really just a good action movie but not groundbreaking in any way, nor significant in any way other than the stunt casting of the original stars themselves. I enjoyed it and recommend it, but I only enjoyed it because I hadn’t seen it yet, and I was able to watch it in the comfort of my own home with my surround sound turned up, and I only recommend it because I like action movies and this one was decent enough to spend the time watching it. I gave it 4 stars because it was better than I expected, but I wasn’t impressed by the movie itself considering it was touted as James Cameron coming back to the helm along with Linda Hamilton and Arnold.

This was a pretty good ending to the franchise. Good to see old actors reprise their roles. Good quality video and audio. Great price!

Dark Fate is a welcomed addition to a franchise that probably should have ended in 1991. (Actually, the Sarah Connor Chronicles was also great, but apparently nobody watched it, so...) Although it's certainly not as good as T1 or T2, it gives us a lot of the same elements that made those movies great. Good actions scenes with a sense of inevitability as the REV-9 bears down. Each fight features a different enough environment and obstacles to avoid feeling repetitive. The acting is solid and the characters are more than just bodies with guns. There is certainly some world-building that feels like it was cut or missing - characters the movie acts like we should know but never explains and a pretty threadbare hand-waving to justify what Sarah Connor has been up to and why Arnie is there but obviously old now. Still, the nostalgia of seeing Linda Hamilton and Arnie back at it allows the movie not to dwell too much on these issues and deliver a fun dose of Terminator goodness. Mackenzie Davis and Natalia Reyes shine as the new generation in the fight against the machines, holding their own along with our old favorites and Gabriel Luna delivers a very convincing performance as the ever-pursuing danger. The story goes that even with Skynet stopped, another AI simply takes its place and the world once against falls to its fate. There is a ring a plausibility to the idea that stopping one AI doesn't stop the overall problem of AI. In the late 80's, AI was still a pretty sci-fi concept with enough science to back up its possibility. Now AI seems like a foregone conclusion - it will be made, we just haven't managed it yet. So, the focus of this story (similar to T1) is more just about the survival of someone who can give humanity and fighting chance after the machines emerge. There isn't a grand plan to stop this apocalypse and save the world, but just because the machine wreak havoc does not mean humanity is done for. It means that for the story to work we have to care about the characters, not just how cool the explosions and punchy robots look. Ultimately, this seems like it would be a good note on which to close the series. Yes, technology will keep advancing. And may the future is inevitable. But still humans fight for survival because that's who we are. Of course, it also leaves that sweet sweet opening for whatever cash-grab addition someone wants to try next, but that doesn't really mar this movie. Generally, as long as you know what you're going into - a decent action movie that's fun but nothing special - it's quite enjoyable and definitely worth watching.

Terminator: Dark Fate is just a very entertaining blockbuster. The action is really good. The locales look nice. There's a nice violence-to-story ratio. Decent dialogue with a string of some very funny lines. I noticed that a lot of reviews have criticized this movie for having the same basic structure of the original films. I suppose this is true, but I found the movie did a good enough job that it didn't bother me. However, there was one moment of synchronicity with the first film that I could've done without. I can't go into details but this movie does one thing that some of recent action/adventure films set decades after the original or originals do that is kind of annoying and a bit jaded. Linda Hamilton makes this film. She is now tough, doesn't give-a-frick old lady and steals whatever scene she is in. Some of the best parts is her interaction with Mackenzie Davis' Grace, who is an augmented soldier from the future. They both have the same goal but different attitudes and their verbal sparring is fun. The new antagonist the Rev-9 is a combination of the original Terminator and Terminator 2's the T-1000. Despite the retreading, he actually feels fresh. He's got a pretty neat ability and his Terminator form may be the creepiest of them. The mannerisms of his human form (Gabriel Luna who was Ghost Rider on Agents of Shield) may be too similar to Robert Patrick's T-1000 for some, but Luna does a great job in the role, switching from emotionless machine to someone charismatic who can blend in. Definitely liked this better than T3 and Salvation, and I was one of those people who liked the latter. (Haven't seen Genesys, yet.) But, I admit this doesn't quite have the specific James Cameron feel of the first two films. As I said, this is a blockbuster and in terms of just being entertaining and not being innovative it does what I was looking for. 248 people found this helpful

The best terminator movie yet. You will not be disappointed.

"Dark Fate" manages to be a successful sequel, as well as a successful reboot. The film features a screenplay, that despite some clunkiness, it has some clever ideas: to start in Mexico and introduce us to Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes), showing robots replace workers in a factory due to automation (foreshadowing what the machines in Terminator will do to humanity), Grace (Mackenzie Davis), a augmented cybernetically enhanced soldier, and to manipulate the story in to having us think that Dani is fathering the next John Connor type hero (since his and Sarah's actions stopped Skynet- but a new A.I., developer arises), but rather she is the new hero of this story: the one that the new Terminator (Gabriel Luna, who gives a great perfomance) has been sent to terminate; all of these ideas culminate to make a very watchable Terminator sequel that is the best sequel since "Judgement Day". With Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger returning everything seems to come full circle and "Dark Fate" emerges to become what could be the start of another batch of successful Terminator films. As for the disc, it’s a positive one. Great bonus features. It delivers a quality presentation with great textual details.
