The special effects were groundbreaking during its time.

The scenes are incredibly filmed and beautiful to watch.

We always look up towards the sky when we think of aliens but, these are aliens we look down for. The coolest aliens ever with a whole new look who live at the bottom of the sea! This flick has everything, a love story, action and adventure and some pretty wonderful aliens with the power to control water. I really liked this movie. Highly recommend it!

James Cameron is one of my favorite directors of all time. This is probably one of my all-time favorite classic underwater Sci-fi movies ever. With a great cast and excellent special effects combined, you dive into a fantasy adventure that leaves you wanting more. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves Sci-fi, deep diving, or both!

James Cameron brings you a very good underwater adventure,of a group of people who run an underwater rig. They are cut off from civilization. Once a unknown group of men come down to visit they bring an unwanted item and then the real fun begins. This movie has a solid cast and is very good, check it out.

Got cheap deal. Another dvd for collection. More reason to keep Netflix.

The director's cut made the movie really less extraterrestrial which I really was at odds with when I saw it years ago. Henceforth now, I am liking this version because of the revelations in the movie for our time now.

One of the best Sci-fi movies ever. From the opening sequence to that fall into darkness it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Ed Harris gives a superb performance along with the rest of the cast.

I have always enjoyed this movie so it was an easy choice to buy it on sale. Great underwater sequences make this really great it helps that James Cameron is an avid diver.

This movie gets you thinking...or it should! Characters in this movie team together to save a catastrophe from happening. Themselves end up being saved
