Definitely like this modern take on the Addams Family. A fun movie to watch and laugh to. Have no idea why others give it bad reviews. Oh well check out for yourself!

To begin, I am a huge fan of the original, live-actions - This is NOT those. Anyone who expects this to be a "faithful reproduction" will be sorely disappointed. It is a standalone title, very loosely based on the characters of the beloved classic(s). It has its own agenda, which is much more directed at a young-ish audience, and turned out to be fine. It wasn't a life-changing experience, but it was fun. Visually, almost any of the big studios can do spectacular things with digital animation these days. This one has great visuals, with a marvelous split palette between the Addams' world, and the "outside"... Contrast and grading have been managed beautifully, and the design of the characters is terrifically fun, even if they lean a bit heavily into the animated gags. Audio is clean, and the surround stage is decently managed. There are very few instances where a very discerning listener might question the use of lower-quality source material for effects. Nothing egregious, but nothing that really screams quality. Just normal Addams screams. In summary, this is a kids' film. It is based on a beloved, old franchise, but it is NOT the old classic. Anyone expecting that will hate this. It is LOOSELY based on those characters, with some fun exploration of their origins, and an entirely new story. Looks great for its generation of animation, and the blu-ray is pretty good.

I know this got a lot of poor reviews, especially from Addams Family fans but I really liked it. Gomez was a little odd to me for some reason but it may be because in the old shows he had charm and charisma that he seemed to be lacking in this one. I also kind of miss the Wednesday from the old show-the sweet and innocent looking girl who was still creepy in her own way but they changed her appearance after the show ended and the new Wednesday has her own appeal. Those reasons kept me from giving this 5 stars. It was different than the show and their other movies but I think that just made it stand out in its own way. I will definitely watch it again and would be interested in a sequel.

This remake/reboot is a great way to entice new people to enjoy the Addams family. I tried to show the tv show and the movies from the 90’s to my 9 year old with no interest whatsoever. But when this came out in theatres he wanted to see it what it was all about and came home begging for a copy for the house when it came out. That time is here and he has watched it at least a dozen times and now my 3 yr old is interested as well. The movie itself is pretty good modernizing the Addams family for new generations and showing they can adapt and live in today’s world as well! Highly recommended!!!!!

A surprisingly enjoyable new take on the Adams Family. Animation allows the characters to look more like Charles Adam’s original drawings. But, the story is completely new. And it’s message is very appropriate to today. Aldo, the theme song from the TV show appears multiple times in it’s original form and re-arranged into multiple other musical styles. For that matter, Lurch gets to play multiple keyboard instruments and has a surprisingly good singing voice.

I am a huge Halloween fanatic, so I had my hopes up before this movie even came out. I was not able to see it on the big screen, however I picked this up as soon as it hit the home market. You cannot help but reminisce about the original tv show or even the movie that starred Raul Julia (RIP), but this movie is very entertaining, to say the least. I do not want to give anything away, so just watch it and have an open mind about how families are started, and going through the life stages, etc.

The Addams Family is a good movie. But the thing I want to complain about is the digital code. It is only good for iTunes. Usually nowadays if you see + digital code or + digital, the code is good for Movies Anywhere (which includes Vudu, iTunes, Google Play, etc). Limiting to only iTunes is stupid especially if you don't have an Apple device. I had to drop it one star for this.

I love The Addams Family in almost every incarnation from the comic to the tv show to the original cartoon series, new cartoon series, and the first two movies... we can all pretend that straight to video 3rd movie never happened right? I was super excited to see a new Addams incarnation on the horizon, and with Tim Burton originally attached... I was kind of worried if it would be TOO Burtonized... but alas he moved on and someone else took over... I wish Tim Burton had stayed... The story line is, at first, identical to Hotel Transylvania, then similar to megamind and despicable me... there isnt much originality here. The characters have no depth or... character really. It's a bummer because this had the potential to be great if they went with a better writer and maybe a better cast. All in all its not the worst but certainly not worth watching more than once. I am hoping for a sequel and for it to be much better... or better yet another reboot where the Addam's can have a far better incarnation than this Hotel Transylvania rip. Still worth seeing once if youre a fan of the Addams.

I have been an Addams family fan for 40+ years and can say I thoroughly enjoyed this jaunt into their world. Yes ... it is modernized to grab a new generation, but, not so viciously so as to alienate us old folks (who still are "young" and love animation). The characters are spot on in appearance, down to Wednesday's 'hangman's noose' braids, and are all entertaining. Kudos to the team behind this very fun film!

This movie was actually pretty good. I admit the animation style is interesting for some of the characters but I enjoyed this movie. Nick Kroll as uncle fester was a weird choice in my opinion. Every time he spoke i kept picturing Big mouth characters in my head talking, but i love that show so its not too bad. its worth checking out if your a fan of the addams family.

I purchased this for myself. Being a fan of the original show I had to have it. Turns out it was better than I was expecting. Johnny Depp gave a great performance as did the supporting cast. If You are a fan of the original I am sure You will enjoy this. If You are unfamiliar with the show, I say give it a chance and then watch the original.

I loved the Adams family growing up. I seen this in theaters & thought it was cute. I can’t wait to see the special features the blu ray has. A little disappointed the digital copy is on iTunes & not movies anywhere or another platform but can’t complain too much about it.

I loved this movie! I went in with low expectations from the reviews but ended up loving it way more than I thought! It is different than the original but it has its own unique character to it and it was fun to watch. I also love the slipcover that came with it. Will definitely add this to my Halloween season watchlist and would rewatch it!

Unlike the human Addams Family movies and TV shows, this film tries the animated Addams's. Those of us who remember the old Addams Family cartoon in the magazines and newspaper will see a good rendition of them in this movie. Funny? Yes. A bit macabre? Yes. Traditional? Yes. A fun watch for everyone with a sense of humor.

What a great movie!! I loved the addams family as a child and now i get to share in the laughter and mischief with my own family. I love the background given and how they made the story relevant for a new generation. The laughs did not end and I can watch this over and over with my child. I hope they make a sequel.

Mama Morticia is styling in her vampy stilletto boots she drills shut when she gets dressed :} The Modern spin on the classic characters is woven into a fun ride of a story!! Watched it every day since Mr. Best Buy dropped it at my door....Soooo disgustingly good daahling :}

Went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised at how good this movie was. Comparing it to the live action versions is like comparing apples to oranges since both are great in their own way. Love the homage to the tv show at the end. Great cast, great animation, and a fun movie for the family.

Well, all I can say as this was a fun movie to watch family. I didn't expect an oscar LOL, but it was entertaining and it was a movie that didn't drag like some animated movies tend to do. I enjoyed this movie and so did my family members that watched it with me and glad we made this purchase.

The latest addition to the Addams Family canon is an animated feature that places the family in a series of more modern situations. While not every premise or joke succeeds, it's just nice to see these fun and familiar characters back on the screen.

I had high expectations for this movie. While it's animation is good and the acting is great, it's watered down compared to the Adam's Family movies I grew up with. It's a great movie to with the kids, and has an awesome message of excepatannce and individualism.
