Solid comic book anthology feature, combining four episodes inspired by the comic book series 'The Adventures of Paula Peril'. Valerie Perez is worth the price of admission as the gorgeous and determined investigative reporter who won't stop until she exposes the truth -- even if that means ending up in multiple perilous death traps from mobsters, thugs -- and ghosts! She carries the film through stories directed by three different directors. This is clearly a labor of love - no huge budget here - but the mystery and adventure works, and is done with a straight face. It doesn't hurt that the heroines are easy on the eyes. The beautiful Marla Malcom (Blood Car) stars as Paula's scheming rival in the wrap-around storyline, trying to steal the story while Paula is helplessly bound and gagged, strapped to a ticking time bomb! Nice!
