This show has been a grabber since episode one. Beautifully written (one of its producers used to be in the CIA) and acted - tense and edge of the seat plotting. Hard to say that you'll be rooting for Soviet sleeper agents in the US - but if they get caught - the series is over - and this one deserves to run for a long time. Each season ratchets up the tension and it keeps getting better. Violent and sexy and pushes the boundaries. With shows like Justified and Boardwalk Empire ending their runs - The Americans grabs the baton and keeps the quality drama race moving at high speed.

I love this show. It ranks right up there with Breaking Bad and Mad Men. It has all of the elements of a successful show - drama, action, and suspense. It is the only show that I've watched that allows you to connect with Soviet characters during the Cold War and see life from their perspective. You get invested in the characters only to realize that they are the enemy and perhaps you shouldn't be rooting so hard for them. It is a fascinating thing. Seasons 1-3 are amazing and I can't wait for the 4th installment.

Sometimes a show will have an incredible season 1 and have trouble following up. That is not the case for second season of The Americans. Season 2 builds on all the great storylines and characters shown in Season 1 and does it even better somehow. This is easily one of the best tv shows out there right now. Highly recommended if you enjoy espionage and thriller shows like Homeland or 24.

Love the series, watched it on TV and just had to add it to my collection. Series is about a couple from Russia that didn't know each other at the beginning but are now pretending to be an American family (have 2 kids). Series continues with various missions that at times including killing people or having relations with them to get information to pass on to the Russians. They do what they need to but are struggling as the show continues.

This show should be considered with House of Cards, Mad Men and Breaking Bad as one of the finest shows in recent history. Matthew Rhys and Kerri Russel are endlessly fascinating and amazing in their ability to switch from normal parents, neighbors, business owners into ruthless Soviet spies in America in the 1980's. A brilliant supporting cast as well as attention to detail of the error makes this show addictive.

Season 2 ramps up the stakes and the tension, our main characters also face more and more adversity in an already challenging marriage. If you enjoyed season 1 this season is worth staying onboard, although I have to admit the daughter is getting pretty annoying. The backdrop of having The Americans take place in the 80's is a lot of fun with the music, cars and clothing. The Americans is a good show that seems to be getting better in my opinion.

Season 2 is often when a series peaks, and while that's not true with The Americans, it's only because the last three seasons were all such amazing experiences. S2 is fantastic stuff, builds to a worthy climax, and pays it off. The Americans is the best regular drama on television.

The second season is just as good as the first. It starts right where the other left off and you're in for a fun ride. Who would think that you're rooting for the bad guys but they make you like the impostor Americans and root for them to take over america. It has a lot of good 80's references and music that can take you back to when you where their or just let you know what it was like to wish you could have the Atari computer system that the guys down the street have. Lots of fun and now can't wait for the next season to show up.

Season 2 is a good follow up to the first season of the cold war era spy series. I enjoy watching the way the plot plays out and the dramatic way the time is represented in such detail. The idea that this is actually a true story in that there really was, and still may be, Russian spies in the United States living and acting like Americans do. It is a truly captivating program and is performed terrifically by the actors involved with the series. Already renewed for a fourth season, I am eagerly awaiting the finale on season 3.

Always loved Keri Russel and she plays a bit of a sinister person in this series. She is hot and kicks butt, a powerful combination. Take place in the heat of the Cold War as she plays a Russian spy. Got the entire service on disc.

Season 1 got me hooked and could not wait to start Season 2. Interesting concept and it really makes the viewer wonder if there are people out there who have or are like the Jennings. Keri Russell is an engaging actress and her character is extremely complex.

I know u can watch the show on FX but I like to just watch episode after episode and not wait week to week. This is one of those shows that once u start to watch u just can't wait until the next one is on so for those of u like me then this is a good "80's spy thriller" that will keep u on the edge of your seat. The actors are good enough that you root for them even though they are russian spies.

these DVDs are a good value especially when you see how much the cost is on demand per episode...I got it on sale and had a $5 reward to use so I got the DVD set for $5...can't go wrong there, especially since there aren't any commercials.

Though late to the party in watching the seasons of "The Americans", I am mesmerized by the story of the agents. Acting is superb. It's hard to not binge watch.

This series has it all,great story,great acting,this season gets even more tense,with the new alliances,newer tech comes into play,this is by far the best spy series ever,Keri Russell,& Matt Rhys sre superb!!! Highly recommended!!

The Americans do not disappoint! Every season is just as intriguing and suspenseful as the last. My favorite TV show. Can't wait to watch the next season! Must buy!

Really great show, very interesting and keeps you intrigued. At the end of every episode I never wanna stop watching and wanna start watching the next one right away to see what happens next.

The Americans is one of the best television dramas today. Unfortunately, it's only been released on DVD--even though it was shot and aired in HD.

This is a very entertaining show and highly underrated. It moves at a great pace and provides viewers with an accurate view of life in the 80's during The Cold War. Definitely worth watching.

This entire series keeps you on the edge of your seat. You can't stop watching it...you just want to see how they will keep the under cover operation going. Intriguing, exciting and thrilling.
