    Not anamorphic?!?!

I waited a long time to get "The Asphyx" on DVD. I'd read about it in a few books on horror films - about how it's like an old style Hammer film, well done and full of shocks and such - and so I'd hoped it would someday get a DVD release so I could finally see it and get a copy of it. The film itself is fun, and it's true it's very "Hammer"-like. Though I do have to say that the "Asphyx" (the creature itself) effect looks a great deal like something you'd see on a spookier episode of "The Muppet Show." But my complaint is not about the movie itself... How, in this day and age, are there still DVD companies out there that release a wide screen movie and don't make it anamorphic? I've got a flatscreen HDTV and the movie plays as a tiny little envelope sized image in the center of the screen. Sure, I can go into the settings with my remote and adjust the image myself, but frankly, I shouldn't have to - and neither should you. C'mon "Hen's Tooth Video," join the rest of us in the 21st century.
