If you know anything about the real life Villisca Axe Murder House, you might find some interest in this movie. It loosely follows the story of the actual murders, as a group of ghost hunters stay the night in the house. Per usual horror movie tropes, the ghosts are real and begin to mess with the investigators as they all descend into madness. There is nothing too surprising, but it's still entertaining.

The movie itself had a pretty good story line, even though it's certainly not the first film to recreate the Villisca axe murderers. The acting was acceptable (again, Ava did an awesome job playing Ingrid), although when Denny (?) talks to his mother's apparition in the sky, I thought it was quite cheesy. There was nothing edgy about the film, although I must say I was never bored.

I liked this movie and had a good time with it. It came with the expected plot of three teens who try to contact ghosts and get more than they bargained for. It is a nice, self-contained story and the characters have issues that the evil force in the house exploits.

Would have been nicer if it had more to do with the actual Villisca house murder story. Good movie but fictional made up story took away from the true story. The effects were good. Movie was kinda all over the place. Had to watch two times to get the movie.

The front cover and the hype on the back of the case definitely made this movie look promising. Had a great premise, competent cast, and interesting usage of a true event, but ultimately just never gained any real traction.

I picked this up as an impulse buy and it turned out to be pretty interesting. I had no idea that the murders this film is based on actually happened.

This is a very good story that they could've done a lot with. The acting is poor and the gore just wasn't there. SyFy movie at best.

Having ghosts mess with your mind is crazy. Plus a infamous haunted spot.
