This was quite a terrifying movie. I will be hearing the babadook in my nightmares

The Babadook is an independent horror film from Australia. The film follows the lives of a single mother and her son, who are both experiencing severe emotional problems. When a mysterious pop-up book appears in the child's room, an evil entity is set loose in their lives. The Babadook is an intense horror thriller that will leave a chill running down your spine every time you think about it.

If you're looking for something like "The Conjuring" or "The Exorcist," this isn't your movie. People either love it or hate it. I'm one of the former, due to the film's acting and psychological drama. It's not blood and guts, it's "all in your head," for lack of a better phrase. The film is full of metaphors, was well-written, and will come (if not already) a cult classic.

This is the one movie I have been waiting forever to see. It didn't disappoint at all. I knew from other reviews that the kid was an annoying brat, but apart from that I loved the film!!

Watched this movie last night and was really blown away. Huge horror fan so it takes a lot for a movie to creep me out, and this one really did. It was creative and had a fresh approach. When it was over I found myself checking doors and turning on lights. Babadook was well acted and well directed, which just adds to it's complete effectiveness. This is a must see if you like horror films.

This movie had several creepy moments and told its story in a unique way. Happy to see fresh horror films out there like this and "It Follows". The pop-up slipcover on this Blu-ray is pretty great. The quality of the film's presentation is spot on, and there are plenty of special features. I especially enjoyed seeing the original black-and-white short that inspired this feature film.

The Special Edition pop up slip cover looks very cool. Great acting, atmosphere, and practical effects. One of the best horror films of this decade. Not a typical monster flick even though some people may view this film as "monster movie". Left me with chills. It is awesome psychology horror movie and I will recommend it to people who love horror movies or great movies in general.

Though the monster is a popular theme in horror Babadook created a new and interesting monster using a child's bedtime story. Plenty of scares and an able cast to sell the story.

Bought this movie cause of hype and it was alright. I wasn't seeing why everyone said it was best film of the year or whatever was said. Would recommend watching it once.

Better than your average scary movie, but didn't quite live up to the reviews it garnered when it came out. A decent disc to add to the collection, especially when it's on sale.

Underrated horror film with a great concept, been meaning to get this for awhile.

I bought this movie based on the name and research. didnt know the plot line of the movie prior to purchase. Great movie and it will keep u up if you are in the house alone

One of the most talked about horror film in recent memory is finally on dvd/blu-ray and it is great, cool special features and under 10 bucks for the dvd - well worth it!!

I'm a huge fan of horror and thrillers. Whereas I didn't find the concept too original,I found the movie as a whole very entertaining. The babadook was very ominous. The story was well executed and the filming did a great job of establishing an uneasy and scary atmosphere. If you pay close attention there is more in the story than it seems. I would watch it again.

This one gets a perfect score from me. One of the best horror movies to come out in my lifetime. I can't overstate how haunting this movie was. The Blu Ray is exceptionally good. The special packaging is a cut above by today's standards. The extras range from good to great, and include an early short film by the director. Can't recommend enough.

I remember seeing this a while back and not being that thrilled by it. On second watch it was actually really good. The suspense is great, and the mom plays a really good second half. My only complaints is the sometimes soap opera picture quality and the super low vocal audio. You have to crank the volume way up.

Great horror movie! I don't think it's as scary as everyone makes it out to be but it's a very good modern ghost story. Collectible packaging is also a plus.

This is a new staple for Halloween movies in the month of October.

I've been waiting to see this movie on blu ray forever and it was worth the wait in my opinion. If you're looking for a new horror movie to watch, get this.
