Alicia Silverstone in "The Babysitter" (1995) is titillating, but most of the film is dated in the 1990's. So, from that perspective it's a good historical reference/ remembrance to the beginning "sexology" of the 1990's times of late-adolescent (post-17-year-olds), males and females, both.
"THE BABYSITTER" DVD illustrates these aspects of the late-adolescent mind-development associated with sexual fantasies and voyeuristic-tendencies of that age period. (As well as other romantic fantasies in both sexes at that age period, too.)
This movie is dated,... but it's a good historical DVD remembrance of psychological development,... even if it is NOT a documentary!
Alicia Silverstone from "Clueless" (also 1995), turned in a much more nuanced personality-exposing character performance that is a little less dated because it was served up again "a la king" in 2013's "The Bling Ring," with Katie Chang and Emma Watson. "The Bling Ring" is the modernized 21st Century adaptation/ evolution of "Clueless." And those are the same moving dynamics that make "THE BABYSITTER" so dated,... and yet, still so "historical." "Historical," because psychological growth in any direction of the mind's eye -- seen in the rear view mirror of yesteryear is a little like watching the silent talkies of the 1920's or the first Westerns of Hopalong Cassidy, Gene Autrey, Roy Rogers & Dale Evans, the Lone Ranger, or even the John Wayne Westerns of the 1930's and even the 1940's!
(To wit, as yet another example, visualize the Glenn Ford and Van Heflin Western in "3:10 To Yuma" (1957). Then, visually compare mentally and/or literally/ explicitly that same 1957 Western film with 2007 Director James Mangold's "3:10 To Yuma" with Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, and Ben Foster, (2007Remake)!
They are ALL Historical -- because we ALL are no longer THERE! Enjoyment of those images is dependent upon Remembrance, Memory, Recollection, Nostalgia, and perhaps Whimsical Fantasies of the Past that only live on as the images periodically from time-to-time float across the screens in our mind's eyes!
In other words, it's hard to see 1995's THE BABYSITTER (Sexo-Horror genre in films) with the now-adapted eyes of Millennials and Z-Generation perceptions/ sensations/ sentimentalities/ proclivities and present cultural upbringing towards 21st Century sexuality in the year 2020 -- no matter who or what age we are NOW!
P.S. By the way, Re:the DVD of "The Babysitter," (1995), there's not much to this very elementary, very overly simplistic plot. I prefer scripts that are not this TOO simple, too basic, and overly bland, commonly-melodramatic! You've seen this plot of "The Babysitter," at least 10-20 times already,... if not, (as I have), 100's of times already! However, the elementary simple storyline IS well executed by the actors -- for that I can't give this film/ DVD -- Zero (0) STARS! Nor can I give it JUST One (1) Star! I give it 2 Stars. And because I like Alicia Silverstone as a good-looking decent actress, I give it 3 Stars! Nuff said to Alicia Silverstone fans! (Although, it's too bad she didn't pick more good scripts like "Clueless" and "The Lodge!" AND less of mediocre scripts like "The Crush" and "The Babysitter!" )

One of Alicia Silverstone’s best films, alongside The Crush! Needed it on Blu-ray, as well as other films. But all in due time!
