It's refreshing to hear a band in this day and age that doesn't rely exclusively on electronics and isn't the same tired folky drivel that's all over the place now. Catfish & The Bottlemen are highly reminiscent of a number of a number of post-punk Brit Pop bands from around 10 years ago (Bloc Party & Kaiser Chiefs come to mind, as do early Arctic Monkeys). Many of the songs are driving, enegetic, and memorable. They have caught on big time in their native UK, and I wouldn't mind seeing them have the same success Stateside. It's not the most original music out there, but that goes for a lot of debut efforts. I look forward to watching this band develop going forward. In the meantime, The Balcony is a solid first effort from a band with plenty of potential.

I am not going to lie. I bought this CD thinking it was another band. I was not really into it at first but as I listen to it more it is starting to grow on me. All the tracks are consistently good. There is not that one song you keep skipping. I am glad I bought it.

I started hearing this album on a local radio station and fell in love with the songs. When I realized my local Best Buy carried the album I stopped by to pick it up. Fun alternative indie music album!

This is Catfish and the Bottlemen's debut album. It is a great first effort. This is a hot new band out of the U.K. Their second album is even better, but this one is very solid too, not a bad song on it. Got a chance to see them in concert and they were amazing! I first heard about them when Adam from U2 recommended them.
