Will probably be the best album of 2008.

This album is just as great as any other Mars Volta album. It is a little overwhelming to listen to it in its entirety the first time. But after breaking it apart and taking in the songs separately, listening to the whole album is a great experience. "Aberinkula" is a great opening track; I especially like the guitar riffs towards the end. "Metatron" has multiple parts that flow seamlessly into each other, and it's one of my favorites. "Ilyena" is the album's catchiest song, but it still manages to be artistic. "Wax Simulacra" is a great song, but it doesn't seem to make for a very good single -- it took me three listens to really get it. "Goliath" is good, but it's one of my least favorite songs. "Tourniquet Man" is a little disappointing; I just don't really like the vocal melody in the chorus. "Cavalettas" really took a while to sink in, but it's one of my favorites now. "Agadez" is another excellent song with great vocals. "Askepios," "Ouroboros" and "Soothsayer" are all great. "Conjugal Burns" is amazing and one of the band's best. Highly recommended.

    Bliss

This is an amazing cd! I have been waiting for it to come out for about a year now. Needless to say, my hopes were extreamly high, and I had already played the album up to almost unreachable standards. The onle reason why my expected standards were ALMOST unreachable is because this albume reached them and then proceeded to exceed them. Bedlam, unlike the other TMV cd's starts out with the first note being an in your face shower og musical excellence. For the next 5 tracks up through Goliath, the music is non-stop high energy. The beat put down in Iynea(spelling?) is impossible not to move to. After Goliath the cd goes somewhat chill with but then it is in your face again. The closer Conjugal Burns, is the ultimate condensation of everything The Mars Volta is. THIS IS THE BEST ALBUM EVER MADE. YOU ARE A FOOL NOT TO PURCHASE IT!!!

I was very sceptical about this new album by the Mars Volta. I was a big fan of De-loused (opinion coming up) but felt that the more recent albums as there sound changed and progressed just wasn't as good. (very progressive, experimental and one of a kind) just didn't quite hook me like de-loused. this album is excellent. absolutely one of my favorites by TMV. as well I feel that most of TMV's albums aren't really anything that is going to appeal to the mainstream. this one has alot more potential with the mainstream crowd. this album is a fast roller coaster through the depths of space colliding with the abyss!

    Simply Mind Blowing!

I have been a fan of The Mars Volta for a long time now, and I'm telling you that this album was a sweet surprise. There is more rock and less sound effect loops, however, if you like those effects, wait til you hear the vocals and guitar. The drums are top notch as well. If you're tired of the same old garbage on the radio, The Mars Volta may be what you're looking for. They're kinda like the Led Zepplin of today. Pick it up, you're gonna love it

I read somewhere that this album was TMV's antidote to "Amputechture," their 2006 release. I kind of agree with that. This CD is funky, and guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez seems to have masterminded some amazing riffs placed throughout the album. Thomas Pridgen, the new drummer, is flawless throughout the entire record. Don't really know what else to say, other than that it's really solid -- highly recommended.

I've been a big Mars Volta fan since their first album. After their last album "Amputechture" I had lost some faith in the band. Bedlam definitely makes up for it with great instumentals and vocals. It's a loud nonstop ride that never disappoints. The story behind the album is great too. Check it out it's a great CD

This album is awesome! Grate follow up to 2006's Amputecture. TMV's inventiveness is astounding!
