I never read the book, so I don't know which is more accurate, this new version or the original Clint Eastwood film. They both have their own strengths. Eastwood played the character a bit more sympathetic, though he was still manipulative. Colin Farrell plays him as more of a cad, but works well when his fate is revealed at the end.

This is a wonderful movie and I enjoyed every minute of it.

This was a remake and it was honestly boring at times. It was a gift to me. I've watched it once and don't think I'll watch it again.

This Blu Ray remake of the original Beguiled by Sofia Coppola is a decent film but moves very slowly. It has a strong casts in Nicole Kidman and Kirsten Dunst and the costuming has good attention to detail. The tension seems toned down when compared with the original.

Director Sophia Coppola does a great job with the original source material, and it has a good shocking ending.

Somehow we missed this film when it was on the big screen. Glad we found it now. Well-cast and good story.

Movie was beautifully shot and had great performances. However, I thought the screenplay could have called for more tension between the characters. Still a decent movie for the price I paid for it.
