One of the finest films ever made, I hadn't seen it in years and had forgotten how terrific this movie is. A wonderful story of veterans learning to deal with the affects of war and figuring out how to come home again. The acting is superb and it's easy to see how it's a Oscar winner back when Oscars went to good films. If you're not moved by this story, you're dead inside.

This is a GREAT movie about our countrys history...if you are an old guy like me......or you want to show the kids or grandkids the sacrifices made by our serviceman to protect their safety!!....EXCELLENT MOVIE

Bought for my father and it grabbed my attention. A great classic movie.

This post-war drama displays the lives of 3 different servicemen who return home after WWII to find their new lives as much of a challenge as the war, as they individually struggle with social adjustment back in the states. The story is true today as it was back then. This 1946 B&W film garnered 8 Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Score, Best Film Editing, and a special Oscar to Harold Russell, a real life soldier who lost his hands in the war and played himself in the film.

I have watched this movie when it played on network t.v. through the years and love it more as time passes. And with every subsequent viewing (of my blu-ray copy) I catch subtle nuance in the actors performances that I hadn't picked up before. It is a heartwarming experience. Certainly my favorite. And a truly beautiful blu-ray.

A true classic worthy of seeing. A story of life after military service world war 2. Heartfelt family story with a moral lesson. Watch it for sure. AAA++++++

i seen this movie i also have it on DVD a great movie but when they have it on Blu-ray i had to get it, the picture is clear and the sound is awesome i luv it!!!!

A look at returning military from WW 2.Good casting,good script,in b/w.Worth the money.

From the moment it starts to the time the credits roll, I knew why it won 8 wards in 1946! It is a must see for every Vet and movie buff (I happen to be both). Both young and old will enjoy this drama about coming home after war or serving their country! The acting, the story, the characters, directing, the cinematography all of it great. Although it was done in 1946, the themes still hold up for today's returning Vets!
