I never saw this series when it aired on TV but what an enjoyment seeing it on Bluray for the first time. I think the accounts from the Old Testament chosen for this series were the right ones. Of course each individual account of the history portrayed could have been extended, along with the New Testament accounts, but then we would have 1,000 episodes instead of just 10. That would have cost a lot more than what this series cost me on Bluray. Well worth the money.

I had never had the attention span to read the bible, since I'm 16, but when history was coming out with the bible on a movie, I knew this would be my chance to see what all happened. After watching the 10 hour film, it seemed like the old testimony if the bible is about how the Jewish people came to be & the new testimony is the forming of the Christian religion. The main story is all here; Saul, Peter, John, Jesus & his death, but there were parts left out. I may not have read the bible, but back when I was in church, I remember a story about 2 brothers who could choose between 2 lands & another story about a man who slapped his donkey & the donkey talked to him. I don't know who they were, but I vaguely remember those stories from the bible. So it is not like "the entire chronical", but I guess it must be close.

I fully expected the usual watered-down, ultra religious, corny plot lines and storytelling that is evident in many other religious works. However, this is excellent. The production value blew away all my expectations. Granted, they weren't that high to begin with, but Mark Burnett and his wife really did an impressive job bringing the stories of the Bible to life in a way that makes it palatable to a much wider audience. This work is quite mainstream in terms of its cinematography, action, and content. I recommend it to anyone, even those who may not necessarily be familiar with the subject matter or content of the Bible.

The Bible is an excellent way to get a visual understanding of the written word. Even though not every book in the Bible is included it still provides you a strong perspective.

Since "The Passion of the Christ" there hasn't been any other Biblical movies/series out that depicts the life of Christ as it should be. The directing, cinematography, casting, and overall storyline were well thought of and well done. Thank you for letting us experience the Bible in the world of technology.

This series shows things in a more realistic settings !! I enjoyed this very much ,some seen were hard to watch ,especially the crucifixion !! We have to see that to UNDERSTAND what JESUS did for all of us !! Highly recommended ,but not for small children !!

I was really impressed with this show, I was raised Christian and alot if these stories brought up memories of learning these many many years ago. Sometimes seemed rushed but there was so much info in such a short time. The passion was pretty graphic and believable rugged at my heart strings.

There are some things that you DVR due to work schedules, family schedules, etc; and there are others that you purchase because you know you want to own it, and ensure it will always be available should you change cable boxes, move homes; etc. The Bible is one of those programs that you own.

This DVD series on the Bible is one of the best I've ever seen! There's quality put into the production and biblical accuracy in the stories with a flare that grabs and keeps your attention. The ONLY thing that I don't like about it is that I wish it was longer and included additional Bible stories that are skipped over. Highly recommended for everyone!

This bible series is very accurate to the bible. The acting is great and the special effects also. Lots of scenes where you could just feel the presence of God and just make s you break down is tears. Thank You LORD for this series.

I watched only the 1st 2 of 4 blu-ray discs so far. It is great for succinct review but lacking in details for my taste. However, I do understand that there are those who may be turned off by too many details. It is probably challenging to condense the important details of the entire Holy Bible into bite-size episode for the History Channel. It is up to the individual to read the Holy Bible to investigate what it actually says and how it may apply to his or her life. If this series can inspire a person to seek the truth with an open mind and an honest desire, it would have served a noble purpose.

As a biblical conservative I am usually disappointed in Hollywood's adaptation of the Bible. But I must say this series is true to the scripture and gives a excellent depiction for the events of the Bible. If you are looking for something other than talking rockmen (recent Noah film) you will not be disappointed.

For a more exciting way to get to know Jesus this is it. It is a great depiction of tories for the Bible. It is something the whole family can enjoy. And those who have a knowledge of the Bible then it just brings it to life whole new way.

Definitely a great movie. Loved every bit of it and brings you closer to the lord. Truly amazing and recommend.

I enjoyed every minute of it with my daughter and I also lend it to my co-workers at Church. I just wish it had more to it than just the 5 parts. I would recommend this story to everyone.

One of the closest movies I have seen to the Bible. From beginning to end, you stay captivated with the stories, characters, and scenery. The story of Jesus makes you smile, cry and rejoice. Praise the LORD the Savior has risen!!!

This was a great account of history of the Jewish people, the Isrialites, up to the time of Jesus' birth and crucifixion. The series outlines key events seamlessly. Great way to show our Christian roots to my kids!!!

I am loving every minute of the Bible with my wife and kids. There are some conspicuously missing stories like Joseph in Egypt, but given the scope and length of the project, it is understandable that some cuts had to be made.

This is a great depiction of Biblical events. Written tastefully and not too over done. The producers are Christians and I believe that has helped to make a really good movie/mini series depicting the life of Christ. I highly recommend this movie for all ages.

when it comes to a movie of the bible,wow,god had this in mind when all the stories had to be told,great job and enjoy watching the very end .start from disc one to disc 4 ,remember there are 2 movies on one disc.
