Excellent Film Conveying a Story That Those who write history books tend to always forget. Well written and directed and strong emotions and tears will be shed while watching this film.

It's so easy to forget where and when racial prejudice had its hold on America. I wasn't proud of my country in this film, but I was proud of fellow black Americans as portrayed here.

This is a very powerful and very telling movie. It makes you wonder why some went to great lengths to try and sabotage it. If you've not seen it yet, I highly recommend you pick it up ASAP!

I wasn't sure if I actually wanted to purchase this film because of the content, but I was glad I did. The film was great and it tugged at my heart strings. What a great piece of history.

This film is about a sad period in United States history and if you are interested in history it is well worth watching. Some may not care for the ending but it is based on true events.

Did this really happen so early in our history as a nation? It's supposed to be based on history and, if it is, it's something you would never learn in school history class. It is really good, though A lot of unexpected scenes throughout and a multi-climax ending.

I have always been a fan of our early American History, and this depiction of events really gave us a clear picture of how things probably were during this time of our history

I purchased the movie not knowing what to expect.. I was very pleasantly surprised. The fact that it's very informative from an historical perspective makes it even better. I will definitely suggest the movie to others. I give it a 4.5 rating.

For his directorial debut, Nate Parker did a great job. Some of the scenes were very detailed, which I like. If you can't stomach scenes like that, this movie is not for you.

This is a very "in your face" up close & personal film. Nate Parker did a great job at portraying Nat Turner & his revolt against slavery. A must see for anyone interested in black history.

Although this is a ugly view in our country's history it is a part of our history. You cannot heal and move past our faults unless you're educated in all the history. Bravo

I was told that Birth of a Nation is a movie to see. I will purchase it for my collection.

This movie was mind capturing from the start. It's depection was spot on, it really makes one feel as if they are there during that time. I hightly recommend this movie.

Not your typical slavery related movie. I was not sure what to expect, but from a historical perspective a great movie. Colorful and action packed. A must see for sure.
