I got this set as a gift for a friend who doesn't watch much TV, and he loved it. The police procedural aspect of each episode is well-done but not terribly original, but the real reason for watching this show can be summed up with two words: James Spader. His character Raymond Reddington carries the show almost single-handedly on the strength of his charm and wit.

I've heard others talk about how great this series is so I took a chance and bought season one. It did not disappoint. It's full of action and twists and turns throughout the episodes. I gave it four stars because some of the episodes are kind of dark.

I love this show!!!! James Spader's performance is spot on. The show's stories are layered and tense filled. So when you watch this show you really need to pay attention.

Saw a bit of the third season and got really into the series, so I decided to buy the first one. It has a great actors and the character development is amazing.
