The performances from Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins separate this particular adaptation, released in 1984, from preceding versions in a positive way. Both are in excellent form here as are the supporting players - notably, Laurence Olivier, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Liam Neeson. Love the HD presentation! A lack of extras such as a gallery or “making of” documentary is minor in this case. Highly recommended for anyone who is either a fan of the aforementioned actors or appreciates filmmaking generally.

This movie has always been one of my favorites as it was shot beautifully and has many poignant scenes that are only enhanced by the great "atmospheric" soundtrack. I only wish it were available in a blu-ray version, however, the soundtrack part of the movie is in 5.1 surround so it's half-way there. If you can get this movie at less than $10, it is well worth the price.

This is one of those films that has beautiful atmosphere and music. Very intense good story. Excellent 80s one here and the best its ever looked. Ive had it on both dvd and bluray and this version is a nice step up! Best its going to look.

I always liked the original Mutiny on the Bounty. This remake lives up to that as a remake

Another remake of the 'Mutiny On the Bounty' tale starring Mel Gibson and Anthony Hopkins. While not at all a bad movie, it's definitely one you'll probably only want to watch once. So, I would only recommend purchase of this one to die-hard fans, of which I can't imagine there are many. Widescreen.

Pretty good movie. Mel Gibson does a good job in this role.
