This movie was lost on my very young children. There is some fat shaming humor that I didn't appreciate, but I think would be fine for more mature kids who can understand the lightheartedness of it as friendly razzing between the characters. There is some cartoon violence but its really tame. Nothing that a kid who is old enough to enjoy the story would be bothered by. There is also a teen crush that the main character develops that I think was treated very well for a cartoon. This is a nice coming of age movie with a lot of imagination, but will be lost on the younger ones. Overall I thought it was good, but I wished I hadn't gotten it to share with my very young children. Maybe some day further down the road. I was thinking it would be more in line with Totoro, being one of the few Ghibli movies that is rated G. I highly recommend The Secret Life of Arretti, Kiki's Delivery Service and Ponyo for all ages Studio Ghibli movies.

Really good anime loved it from the start to the end

First off, I am already a big fan of Studio Ghibli - such films as Princess Mononoke and Totoro. This one leans more in the vein of Totoro - much lighter than Nausicaa and such. This movie has a female lead that is unsure of herself, but grows stronger as the movie progresses with the help of a cat figure that has come to life. I would highly suggest this movie for your kids - especially if they have a love/appreciation of cats.

This is an enjoyable movie from start to finish. It’s good family entertainment, especially for cat lovers! The story follows the heroine in an adventure through a kingdom of cats with excitement and narrow escapes. This is highly recommended for children of all ages.

My younger kids are now starting to move toward slightly more mature children/family movies. This movie definitely fits in what they like to watch currently. It’s good, as a father, to be able to watch a movie with good content, that keeps everyone of all ages engaged. I do recommend this movie

If you haven’t watched this movie then you are missing out. It is fantastic and fun for the whole family. Think of it as Aristocats mixed with Alice in wonderland.

Even though I saw this one way after it originally came out, I still really enjoyed it! It has a lot of funny moments and unexpected popular American voice actors. I was excited when I found out it was coming in a DVD/Blu-Ray set! The only thing that would've made it better would be a HD digital version in the package!

now, if the Disney crew don't muck up again the Ghibli masters with their own respective re-invisionings ( Porco Rosso is a good example - redid the original ending - shame on Disney ! ). Great anime for all, children and adults.

The story is unusual but great in this anime. The pacing through the story is good with the changing settings. This dvd was hard to find and I was glad to finally get it. It is terrific to have in my anime collection.

Great addition to the collection. Wife loves this movie so it was a must buy for the steel book. And quality as the regular bluray. This was pretty much just for the collection.

I've watched a lot of anime and animated movies, but hadn't seen this one yet. Picked it up locally, and gave it a watch. It is a bit derrivitive at times, but these days, what isn't. That said, the story, the character art, character designs, sound, backgrounds and so on were very well done.

THE CAT RETURNS is my latest to add to 9 more from Studio Ghibli. I love this as I do all my other animated features from Japan. This film takes me on a journey into the world of cats. I highly recommend THE CAT RETURNS.

So I've seen most of the Ghibli films that exist and honestly this is one of my favorites. The story is amazing and the characters are fun (especially Muta) and while I love the subtitled voice acting I also love hearing Tim Curry and Cary Elwes voice the king and Baron.

Like all available Studio Ghibli films The Cat returns is an animated masterpiece. A "sequel" to A Whisper of the Heart continues the story of the cat seen in the previous movie. NO one makes better animated films than Studio Ghibli...highly recommended.

Studio Ghibli is a one of a kind studio and I am sure when I say this is another one of there greats me and my family love this movie along with many of there others and I think anyone wanting to watch a unique and great movie would feel the same

We are always impressed by studio ghibli and this is no exception. This movie is great for kids and adults alike. Like all ghibli movies it makes you think and appreciate things in a different way. Love the king of cats in this one.

Miyazaki classic. The English dubbed version is very well produced. The special features include interviews and glimpses behind the scenes, storyboards, music, etc. The Cat Returns is one of my family's favorite Animes.

I admittedly am a huge Studio Ghibli fan, and this movie is easily one of my favorite. It's whimsical, funny and beautiful. It's shorter than most of the other Ghibli movies too, so it may be better for holding younger children's attention

The law of unintended consequences hit for Haru when she rescues a cat and finds herself pulled into adventures in the world of cats. Oh and to be in the world of cats you must become a cat. And that just the beginning of Haru's problems.

It’s a Studio Ghibli film so of course it’ll be great. Just fun and whimsical and heart-warming. And it is completely family-friendly so everyone should enjoy this.
