This is wonderful. Chelsea is wealthy. Wealthy enough to support a routinely successful, top level soccer team. But not so wealthy it doesn’t have homeless and working poor in addition to middle class successful. Detective Inspector Max Arnold is a life long resident. He is unprepossessing, one of the shrewdest minds in the Metropolitan Police, and recently divorced. Sergeant Priya Shamsie and her husband do not live in Chelsea. She is 40 and a new mother. Between them they solve heinous crimes characteristic of major metropolitan areas despite happening in Chelsea. The four episodes are wonderfully written and acted. You learn about the characters through their actions, conversations and asides as they work on each case. It is all very natural. Much as you would expect from a team working together long enough to be comfortable with each other. Every episode involves new locations within Chelsea as well as recurring sites such as police station, Max’s houseboat, and Priya’s flat. The crimes are complex and the perpetrators never obvious. Some are dark. The character interactions and one liners counter that. And the amount of blood is only that necessary to the story. I very much hope for more years of this show.

Excellent new British detective show. Chemistry and rapport is great among the detectives and other police staff. Great stories, great writing, excellent acting, can't wait for series 2. Highly recommend.
