Saw this movie years ago and still remembered the story, was glad to find it on Blu-Ray from best buy!

This 1972 western starring John Wayne (7 years before his death) is the story of an aging rancher (Wil Andersen) who is abandoned by his cattlemen since they would rather head to the gold fields than punch cows. Wil is reluctantly forced to replace his drovers with local school boys to move his cattle on a 400 mile drive. Those he had rejected for this dangerous trip form the drama in the plot as the cattle drive gets underway. Character studies are the key to understanding who is to be trusted and who is not. There are also surprises along the way in this top notch western.

A little predictable but good message. Road show picture format with overture and intermission.

The Cowboys is one of my top 2 favorite westerns (The Big Country is other one). I've loved this movie since it came out when I was 10. Glad to have a Blu-Ray copy with some documentary extras.

As always, it is a great John Wayne movie, even in his later years. It is a sad story, but it is also a movie to be proud of how the boys mature. This was purchased to update our library to a newer format, clear re-mastering and great detail.

I have seen this movie numerous times. It is a great western. I am very happy to have added this to my collection. If you are a John Wayne fan then you will not be disappointed.

Movie that keeps you interested and eager to see what happens next, especially since it involves children of different ages doing the job of an adult.

The products are reasonably priced and perfect for a gift to my father for his birthday. They arrived on time so they were here for his party !!

One of my favorite John Wayne films. Bruce Dern plays a bad guy to perfection. A great film about young boys starting to become men.
