Movie: Not as great as the rest of the franchise ones like Conjuring but enjoyed it more than The Nun & Annabelle Comes Home. ————————————Pros————————————— (Picture) Look impressive on a well calibrated OLED, 4k upscale via Oppo. (Sound) Grateful for Atmos on Blu since UHD is unavailable & was superb on a well calibrated 7.2.4. Watched it at a Dolby Cinema & was just as impressive, if not more at home. Lots of great height realist action & 360 panning surround scenes. Digital Copy. Slipcover. ————————————Cons———————————— Movie could’ve used more back story scenes on the Llorona. Also, lacked execution on some of the fright scenes. For example, when she came out the pool & touched the umbrella girl. I was expecting a huge blow out the water in slow motion & speed up making a scene but instead got a subtle contact. Too easy of a kill off at the end. No 4K. Wishes: Would’ve like to see one of the franchise release in 3D.

It's not the best storyline but it is decent and fun to watch. Definitely give it a try

If you love all of the “Conjuring” movies and the Legendary “Drag me to Hell”…then you WILL love this movie! Please (DO) ignore ALL the negative reviews, because they sure don’t know what in the HELL they are talking about and they are mostly unfounded. This will be a real quick review folks…I love how the producers of this movie get to the point real quick. There are really NO dry or boring areas in this movie at ALL! The movie has action, suspense, and build up. The story explains itself very well and ties up all facts to bring you to the MOST EPIC ending I have ever seen in a movie of this type… which really impressed me the most. The producers did not beat around the bush or give you some ridiculous love interest or teenage summertime trash…they got right to the point with HIGH-END (CGI) effects. In closing, I will add this small fact, the movie was very SCARY and it will play on your mind and really make you stop and think…scary stuff soooo WATCH OUT! The Blu-ray quality was so beautiful, with rich high-end ATMOS sound effects!

I never want to talk to much about horror movies because I don’t want to spoil the plot. I will say the overall story was excellent...somewhat cliche but some twists. Not very scary in terms of something new that we haven’t seen but this Spanish folktale was a little different primarily due to the Spanish angle. There is one scene that will drive you mad...probably could have been rewritten to be believable. But there are kids involved and kids do stupid things. There also is a cameo from another horror movie which I like.

Best thing about this films in a Linda Cardellini. Part of the conjuring Universe minus the Warrens involvement. The kids did a great job of acting scared. Some scenes are truly terrifying but unfortunately the film falls short of being more than jump scares. As for the over all villain of the film. We’re given some really bad CGI. This could of been a true horror film if warner bros took more time perfecting the film. We could have had another iconic villain to the list but again it falls short of that.

Didn't want to watch this... didn't want to like it. However, after thinking about it, this movie contains all the classis horror elements of a great movie, but nothing is overdone and nothing is silly or cheesy. I watched it my girlfriend and she was on the edge of her seat! She learned of the La Llorona from her parents as they would use as a ploy to get her and her siblings to come inside the house when it was dark outside from playing...

A different ride for fans of the Conjuring universe. Not that many scares, but the story was solid and characters enjoyable/believable. It’s nice to see the producers going into folklore from other cultures and having respect for them as well. I think it’s awesome addition the franchise!❤️

Wasn't sure if I would like this one because of the review's it was getting, but it turned out to be a good movie. This one takes off right from the start and get's you right into the action. Linda Cardellini is very good and Raymond Cruz delivers a good performance as well.

One thing the Conjuring universe has always succeeded in is creating good atmosphere, and this film is no different. It's not scary, despite a few obvious attempts at jump scares, but the mood and setting, as well as generally strong performances keep this one above average.

This is produced by James Wan and it plays into the Conjuring universe. That said, being a James Wan movie, it has the quality and thrill of Asian-produced horror films. Set in a hispanic community in southern california, the movie played well into introducing Mexican mythos. Disregard the low ratings, this is a good horror movie, although some scare are cliched. However, this is far better than your average American horror movie where a group of millennials would be murdered one by one.

I was very excited to see this from the first trailer I saw and the first time watch was great but after seeing it again with friends it becomes very predictable horror flick. Wish that old school horror would come back ,that literally get you thinking all night .

I started watching this movie on the airplane while I was traveling and did not finish so I purchased it so I could see the entire movie. It was scary but not too scary but not for small kids. The plot was pretty good. Worth the money as I was not disappointed.

I love good horror movies. This is one of the few that I've seen this year there was worth watching again definitely worth the purchase would watch two or three times again. If you like The Conjuring one or two of you will like this

Great twist on an old tale that has been pasted from generation to generation. This is the tale your parents would tell you would happen if you misbehaved. The movie seems to captured that fear that people get when they hear of this legend. Some people swear it true. The acting was great and the special effects were excellent. Overall a great movie and on sale for $10, a must have. Plus, great for watching on Halloween.

Good movie, but I'm only giving it three stars because it could have been so much better. The story was okay, acting was okay, and cinematography was okay. Pretty much everything was just okay, but nothing really stood out to make it better than just okay. I was looking forward to this movie and was really hoping that it would get a good treatment and be a standout film, since it was based on a legend that so many have heard about. But it never really stands out, and isn't one of those horror stories that I enjoy watching over and over like so many others. Watching this one, I can say once is probably enough. Wish it could have been better.

I have seen horrors similar to this story line, but that doesn't diminish the scare factor of this one. It is a curse set by a dead woman who was wronged and the curse is known to their culture through generation. Good horror.

I like most of the movies from The conjuring series. Creepy stories and good “monsters”. The endings always leave a bit to be desired but overall good movies. This one is worth the watch.

The bluray was nice ... Tobad no 4k ... I didnt think it was gonna be h Good i bought it anyway to add to my conjuring collection ... It does stand by itself nicely ... Its a good movie and ties into the conjuring universe a lil bit ... End result i really liked it ... Best buy price matches nicely so i always buy from best buy

We watched the movie last night and thought it was outstanding! The scares were scary and tension building. And the bonus features were interesting as well. I liked the fact that they explained the myth, and the actors were very good too. Make-up was done awesomely and soundtrack was good. All in all a decent movie.
